  1. While Hasbro recently announced that there would be no "1027" event this year, the annual livestream held every October 27th (named after the company's headquarters at 1027 Newport Avenue in Pawtucket, RI), fans noticed that the celebration may have happened early this year... in the most unexpected way: Yesterday, Hasbro's Tron: Heroes of the Grid HasLab crowdfunding campaign hit exactly 1,027 backers, prompting collectors to joke that the company "decided to celebrate 1027 in spirit"... ToyFarce investigated. "It's poetic, really" said one collector. "They cancelled the event, but then their HasLab became the event. It's like Hasbro is living in the Grid now". While Hasbro hasn't officially commented on the eerie coincidence, sources inside the company say some employees were spotted high-fiving and whispering "We did it. 1027 lives on!". Fans online quickly joined in on the fun, declaring it "the most Hasbro thing ever". Some even suggested that if the campaign hits 2,054 backers next, it should automatically unlock the "Double 1027" stretch goal. ToyFarce reached out to Hasbro for comment, but the automated reply simply said "End of line". More news at 11:00... transmitted directly from the Grid!
  2. Grab yourself a nice ice cold pint of blue milk: It's finally here! Collectors who have started receiving their Star Wars: The Vintage Collection HasLab Mos Eisley Cantina are discovering something a bit more troubling: They have nowhere to put it! ToyFarce investigated... "I thought it would fit on top of my Detolfs (Detolves?), or maybe across the top of an IKEA Kallax" said one collector. "It turns out it's the size of a small apartment. I'm now shopping for a shelf the size of a garage door...". Indeed, furniture stores across the country have reported strange requests from toy collectors. One IKEA employee said: "We had a guy ask if we sold shelving units measured in square meters instead of inches. Another asked if he could buy the entire wall that is holding our display shelves. Not the shelves, the entire wall behind them! He even brought parts of the playset in with him, to see if it would fit...". Some collectors have even considered mounting their Mos Eisley Cantina directly onto their garage door, so that every time they leave for work, the whole Mos Eisley scene dramatically rises into the air. Let's just hope the 790 glasses are also mounted... Others are reportedly clearing out spare bedrooms, while one unlucky collector admitted that his Haslab Cantina is now his dining table... Hasbro has yet to confirm if they will offer "support furniture" in the future, such as the rumored HasLab Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Mos Eisley Cantina Shelf (ships in 2027), complete with cupholders and reinforcement beams. More news at 11:00... In the meantime, collectors are left with one question: "Where am I supposed to put this thing?" *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  3. In an astonishing turn of events (astonishing mostly to a few, really), local collector Gary, who had spent the past 41 days confidently predicting that the G.I.Joe Classified Series HasLab Snow C.A.T. would "be a total failure" has now pivoted to claiming that he "always knew it would make it". ToyFarce investigated... The HasLab Snow C.A.T., which reached full funding earlier this week, experienced a massive surge in the final 24 hours, not only hitting its goal but also unlocking every single stretch goal. This came as a shock to a few... except, apparently, Gary: "Pfft, of course it was gonna fund. I mean, look at it! It's the Snow CAT!" Gary said on Thursday evening, while discreetly deleting old forum posts where he described the project as 'a doomed failure' and 'the end of G.I.Joe HasLabs.' For the entire campaign, Gary had been a vocal doomsayer. He warned others to "face reality", predicted it would "barely limp past 50%", and even suggested that Hasbro "might want to start making model trains instead". Yet now, with every stretch goal unlocked, Gary insists this was all part of his master plan to "keep expectations low". "I wasn't wrong, I was just... testing the fandom's resolve" Gary explained, while closing the HasLab Snow C.A.T. order confirmation tab behind him. "Reverse psychology, you know? My negativity made people want it more. And that totally worked!". Other collectors have reported similar behavior, with several of Gary's friends noting that he had been "suspiciously quiet" in the hours immediately after the funding surge, only to reappear later with phrases like "Called it!" and "This is exactly what I predicted". More news at 11:00... Gary has since posted on social media that the next G.I. Joe HasLab "will definitely be the one that struggles".
  4. It's the summer lull in the toy world, and the latest big crowdfunding campaigns are feeling it hard. The HasLab G.I. Joe Classified Series Snow C.A.T., the Mattel Creations Masters of the Universe Origins Snake Lair and the HasLab Star Wars The Vintage Collection LAAT Gunship are all crawling toward their goals like a snow vehicle stuck in beach sand. ToyFarce investigated... At time of writing, and with only 6 days left, the G.I.Joe Classified Series Snow C.A.T. sits at 7,935 of 8,000 backers, inching forward like someone trying to walk on scorching pebbles (and might be funded by the time this article is posted). The Snake Lair, with 20 days left and 2,638 of 6,000 backers, is moving about as fast as an actual snake digesting a large meal. Meanwhile, the Star Wars The Vintage Collection LAAT Gunship, still very early in its campaign with 31 days remaining, hovers at 3,062 of 8,000 backers, presumably circling the beach looking for a landing spot. "Every year around this time, we see a dip in pledges" explained one fictional crowdfunding analyst. "Not because collectors lose interest, but because they're busy investing in other priorities - like SPF 50, pool floats, and overpriced cocktails on the beach. Right now, when we send them emails reminding them about the campaign, we get their automated replies letting us know they're on vacation and will reply later." Toy companies are already bracing for the return of the backer rush once vacation season ends. "We're confident people will come back soon" said another imaginary spokesperson. "They'll return home sunburnt, broke, and full of regret, which is the perfect emotional state to make a large impulse purchase." In the meantime, the campaigns remain in what experts are calling "the Summer Sandtrap", that awkward period where potential backers are too distracted by barbecues, beach trips, and Instagramming their feet in front of an ocean. More news at 11:00... Back now... before your tan fades! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  5. It’s a showdown of epic proportions! In a rivalry that can only be described as the big Ghostbusters 40th Anniversary Fan Money Shakedown, toy giants Hasbro and Mondo are going toe-to-toe in an attempt to win the affections (and money!) of die-hard Ghostbusters fans (although it's technically a one-sided fight, since Hasbro owns the license, but still!). If you thought the Ghostbusters versus the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man battle was intense, you haven’t seen anything yet! ToyFarce investigated... Last month, during New York Comic Con, Hasbro unveiled their next Haslab campaign, the Ghostbusters Plasma Series Ectomobile (Anniversary Edition), an amazing 6-Inch-Scale Ecto-1 with lights and sounds which comes with 7 action figures, tons of accessories, etc... with 2 different options, base model or deluxe model. A few days later, close to Halloween, Mondo announced their Real Ghostbusters figures, which also comes in 2 different options: Single figure or 'Timed Edition' deluxe two-pack (see a pattern there?). After a few days, as if that wasn’t enough, Mondo sweetened the deal by offering free domestic shipping, as if to say: "We got your back, Ghostbusters fans! We know you've got a lot of Ghostbusters things to buy, so here’s a bone!” Not to be outdone, Hasbro quickly countered with an announcement of their own. Their ongoing HasLab campaign for the 6-inch scale Ecto-1A vehicle had been gathering steam. Originally, they dangled an "Early Bird" carrot in front of backers: a 6-inch Louis Tully figure (complete with 'I just got slimed' facial expression!) if the campaign reached its goal before a certain date. But when Mondo threw in that free shipping, Hasbro's executives must have dropped their proton packs in shock. "Wait, they think they can outdo us with free shipping?!" shouted one Hasbro marketer as he furiously scribbled ideas on a whiteboard. In a shock move, Hasbro announced that EVERYONE who backs the Haslab campaign will now receive the Louis Tully figure, early bird or not. "Who you gonna call now, Mondo?!" one Hasbro spokesperson may or may not have yelled while sliding down a firepole. Just when it seemed like Hasbro had taken the lead, Mondo came swinging back harder than a possessed Terror Dog! In a move that had collectors clutching their wallets like a PKE meter in a haunted mansion, went straight for the jugular with a discount and decided to offer $25 off any $200 purchase (which lasted only a few days, but many collectors managed to take advantage of it). What’s next? Who knows, but the battle continues! Ghostbusters fans, beware: This battle is escalating faster than a containment unit breach, and your wallets might not survive! One fan, who asked to remain anonymous (but was wearing a full Ghostbusters outfit, with proton pack and all) told us, "I can't keep up! First it was free shipping, then extra figures, then discounts... At this rate, I’ll be the one needing a financial exorcist! But then again, it's the 40th anniversary, and we're getting all those cool toys... Sure, it's gonna be an expensive month, but the real winner, here? The fans!" The Mondo The Real Ghostbusters - Peter and Samhain Collector's Pack - Timed Edition is available until November 26th on Mondo's website, while the Hasbro Ghostbusters Plasma Series Ectomobile (Anniversary Edition) will end on December 2nd on Hasbro Pulse. More news at 11:00... Stay tuned, and try to keep your wallets locked up tighter than a ghost trap!
  6. It is no secret that a QC issue regarding the eyes seems to be plaguing Hasbro's Marvel Legends Haslab Giant-Man figure. Hundreds of collector have been reporting that their Haslab Giant-Man "just doesn't look right". To solve the issue, a leading toy eye specialist has been called in to give us some answers, and it is not Giant-Man's eyes that worries her the most, it's the collectors'... ToyFarce investigated. Dr Orb (no relation), one of the world's most renowned toy eye specialist, shed some light on the issue with the Haslab Giant-Man: "This is not the first time I have seen an action figure suffering from ocular misalignment syndrome" she said, while carefully examining a Giant-Man patient on her workbench. "I used to have tons of McFarlane Toys and DC Multiverse patients. It's the same condition." Dr Orb confirmed that the Haslab Giant Man's condition is not life-threatening but might be inconvenient for those trying to photograph him staring heroically into the distance. He recommends a very precise procedure involving contacting the customer service, giving the info needed and lots of patience, while the new sets of eyes are getting prepared to ship. However, after browsing several Marvel Legends collectors groups to search for more data about Giant-Man's eye, Dr Orb became worried about some other sets of eyes: the eyes of the collectors! "There are dozens upon dozens of posts showing pictures that clearly have 2 sets of eyes, both looking to the left, asking if they have the correct set of eyes." Dr Orb said, shaking her head. "If you do not see that the eyes are looking sideways, stop worrying about Giant-Man's eyes and go have yours checked, please! Also, after the 53rd post asking what to do if you have the wrong eyes, even though it has been answered already multiple times, and could have been found by searching or even just scrolling a little, it's more than the eyes that I'm worried about..." More news at 11:00... "My Giant-Man does look right... He only looks left!" *badum tss* *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  7. HasLab’s highly anticipated Giant-Man figure has started arriving on our doorsteps, and he came with a stare that no one was expecting: Multiple collectors are reporting that their super-sized Giant-Man figures arrived with duplicate side-glancing eyes, giving the entire figure a slightly judgmental expression no matter where you’re standing. And Marvel Legends fans? Well, they’re giving Hasbro a bit of side-eye themselves... ToyFarce investigated. The epic Haslab Giant Man figure, towering at a scale-appropriate 24 inches, and funded by fans to celebrate Marvel Comics' 60th anniversary of the Avengers, is a stunning figure that was expected to come with several set of eyes, including front-facing eyes. However, when collectors started unboxing their eagerly awaited figures, a few of them were greeted with a sideways stare that says, "Are you really spending this much on action figures?" "It’s like he’s looking at my entire collection and judging me!" lamented Adam, a longtime Marvel Legends collector. "Or worse, like he’s eyeing the other Giant Man figure from 2006 I have on the shelf and feeling superior to it!" Rumors are swirling that there may be a secret conspiracy behind this strange stare: Toy experts across the board have noted that that particular feature used to be a signature from Todd McFarlane, notorious for his long history of figures with dramatic side eyes. Fans have now begun to wonder if Todd secretly infiltrated the HasLab team to add a little “McFarlane flair” to their otherwise straightforward Giant Man. "Look, if there’s one thing Todd taught us, it’s that side-eyes give action figures attitude. Why settle for just ‘big’? Giant Man can be judgmental too!" In all seriousness, it is simply a QC issue, and Hasbro has already replied to several collectors that replacement eyes will be on their way mid-november. Good thing the toy community never overreacts, especially when it comes to Hasbro products, right? More news at 11:00... For all the collectors who find themselves suddenly feeling judged by their new acquisition: Just remember, it’s not you... it’s Giant Man. *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  8. With just a bit over 15 hours left before the G.I. Joe Classified Series HasLab Cobra Rattler Ground Attack Jet campaign concludes, G.I. Joe collectors everywhere are suddenly struck with a far greater challenge than deciding where to display it: How to hide the $350 charge on the credit card! ToyFarce investigated... ToyFarce interviewed several brave souls who have become seasoned experts at concealing the true extent of their toy spending. Here are their top tricks for dodging that post-campaign invoice conversation with their partner: 1. "Honey, It's an Investment!" A classic - claim that buying the HasLab Cobra Rattler Ground Attack Jet is like buying stocks, only cooler and with missiles! One collector explained, "I told my wife it’s an investment for the future! I can sell it for more than double the value!" When asked if he ever actually intends to sell any of his collection, he quickly changed the subject. 2. "It Was On Sale!" Several collectors are preparing to drop the all-time favorite excuse: "But it was on sale!" even though HasLab crowdfunding isn't exactly known for offering discounts. "My partner doesn’t know that," one smirking G.I. Joe fan added. "They think everything has a sale at some point. I’m just hoping they don’t Google it…" 3. "It's for my son!" One collector had a stroke of genius: "I told my spouse that it was a present for the kids, but they’re too young to open it so they'll have to wait until they’re 18!" That way, the Rattler becomes a 'future gift', which also conveniently remains sealed for the next two decades. Also, remember, it was for his birthday! 4. "I must have butt-dialed or something..." An bold move, but still effective. "It looks like I accidentally logged in, added it to my card, entered all my info and confirmed the order while my phone was in my pocket. Ooopsie!" How does this keep happening, right? As the campaign clock winds down and G.I. Joe fans prepare for their next great battle, one thing is clear: the war isn’t over until that $350+ is hidden, and collectors are always thinking several steps ahead! Good luck, fellow collectors! Yo Joe! More news at 11:00... and remember, it's better if they don't know how much you spent... *even* if knowing is half the battle. *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  9. Only a few hours remain to grab your Haslab Star Wars The Vintage Collection Mos Eisley Cantina, and Derek, a huge Star Wars collector, was so excited that he told all his friends that he will soon own a bar. All of a sudden, he is the most important person in his group of friends, and acquaintances he hadn't heard of for a long time suddenly reached out to ask him about the bar... Misunderstanding? ToyFarce investigated... "I always knew he'd end up doing something like that" said Mike, a friend of the collector. "We've been friends for a long time, so I'm sure he'll give me discounts on drinks!". One of his female colleagues said: "Isn't he kinda cute? I think deep down, I always thought he was cute, and now that I know he's going to own a bar, maybe I should talk to him more..." "I always thought he was dorky with his toys, but I guess he sold them all out in order to buy a bar, which is pretty cool in the end. I should hang out with him more." said another friend of Derek. "He said he already has the barman, and that there are 2 beautiful twins that always hang out at the bar." It is highly possible that Derek forgot to mention that said bar was in fact the Haslab Star Wars The Vintage Collection Mos Eisley Cantina, a bar more suitable for 3.75" action figures... Oh well. More news at 11:00... "There are 3 booths, 8 tables, several benches and chairs, and tons of glasses! - When is the grand opening?"
  10. "My parents will be so proud!" said Mark, a Star Wars collector who's also a beer and cocktail connoisseur. Hasbro has finally unveiled their latest Star Wars Haslab offering, and it is none other than the Mos Eisley Cantina, also known as the wretched hive of scum and villainy! Star Wars fans are very excited about the colossal playset, while others, who love their beverages, are also excited about the possibility of owning a bar! ToyFarce investigated... "Finally, I will have my own bar!" said Mark. "After years of spending most of my evenings at bars, I will finally own one! All those years were not for nothing! *sips Gin & Tonic* I'll make a great bar owner! All the characters will have multiple glasses in front of them, to show that they're taken care of really well with me!" "I'll put the Mos Eisley Cantina on a bar. How about that? Mind blown right? A bar on a bar! *sips beer* I have great ideas sometimes... I really think they should hire me! *burp*" The Star Wars The Vintage Collection Mos Eisley Cantina comes in 2 different options, will end in 28 days (July 8th) and is sitting at nearly 50% funded at time of writing. More news at 11:00... "Sorry about the mess..."
  11. Today, Hasbro will announce the new Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Haslab crowdfunding campaign, and self-proclaimed Star Wars "Superfan" Matt from NJ is really looking forward to all the complaints he will be able to post online about it. "I was already talking trash about the fact that they delayed the announcement, and was nearly out of things to say... This announcement cannot come soon enough!" ToyFarce investigated... Star Wars "Superfan" Matt took us behind the scenes about how he prepares for the announcement: "First, I made sure to join as many Star Wars collectors groups on Facebook, so that I can post multiple times a day on each of them about how much I hate it (even if it hadn't been announced yet). With some other collectors, we have pre-agreed on a selection of arguments to post every time we see a post about liking or backing the new Haslab. It's your usual post about "HaSbLoW gReEd", about the prices, etc. There has been many Haslab campaigns already, we have a deep understanding about how prices are calculated now. We're basically experts." "Whatever they announce, we will hate it. We decided that a long time ago. As a matter of fact, some of us have been camping in the live chat of the YouTube video, already letting them know that we hate it days in advance. It's the level of dedication we have!" More news at 11:00... Nobody hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  12. It's October 27th, and Hasbro will hold their Hasbro Pulse 1027 event for all Pulse members today. There has been a lot of teases about "something big" coming for the Ghostbusters line at the event, including a video teaser that has been dissected to death by fans on Youtube (Why are there so many jars of pink slime in their office?! SO MANY JARS!). There is a lot of speculation about a potential Ghostbusters themed Haslab, being either a Slime Blower or an updated Firehouse Headquarters playset, but ToyFarce got a special tip from an anonymous insider about what it may be... Who You Gonna Call? On the heels of a successful Marvel Legends Giant Man Haslab campaign, we might see another Haslab campaign announced today during the Hasbro Pulse 1027. The last Ghostbuster Haslab was for the lifesize Spengler's Proton Pack, and it was a huge success, so it would make sense for the next one to be another 'roleplay item', but we did see the Firehouse HQ playset a few times in that video teaser... The suspence is killing us (and we might come back as ghosts!) An anonymous source sent ToyFarce a tip about it, saying only 3 words: ECTO-1. OF. VENGEANCE. The following pictures are only mock-ups of what the next Haslab campaign might be: Possible tier? More news at 11:00... I ain't afraid of no ghosts! (See, that's a double negative, so technically, Ray Parker Jr. IS afraid of ghosts!) *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  13. "It's all about getting the most views!" said the toy youtuber, who wished to remain anonymous. We are now in the last few hours of the Hasbro Marvel Legends Haslab Giant-Man campaign, and everyone is on the edge of their seat! The campaign still needs a bit over 2000 backers before the clock hits 11:59 PM EDT, and one Toytuber has decided to wait and see before posting his latest video about it... ToyFarce investigated... "This campaign has divided the entire toy community" (lol ok...) said the Toytuber. "So to be sure that I'm on the correct side, I am going to wait to see if Giant Man get funded. If it does get funded, I can upload a nice positive video where I congratulate the team, and tell that I knew it was going to happen and all that. If it doesn't get funded, I can post a video where I laugh at Hasbro, and say that I knew it wouldn't make it. I have prepared both videos already, so I can post right away and be the first one out there with an honest opinion about it. It's important to have integrity." "I am one of the 7700+ people who backed it, so if it gets funded, I'll be very happy to get one, but if it doesn't, at least, I'll get more views on Youtube!", he continued. "Look, people in the toy community are the first ones to laugh when someone say the word 'influencer', but then, they'll gather around and listen to strangers telling them to like a figure or not, and they just go with it. Some make their entire personality about hating a brand that another person told them not to like... I have to get myself a piece of that!", he added. You can check the status of the Hasbro Marvel Legends Haslab Giant-Man campaign here! More news at 11:00... 14. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Less than 24 hours after the end of the Hasbro Star Wars the Vintage Collection The Ghost Haslab campaign (which ended with 21,768 backers despite the 'iT WiLL nEvEr MaKe iT' crowd, congratulations to the team!), and right before the first few appeared on eBay (there's someone selling only the Zeb for $185, LOL), a collector tried his luck asking for a Haslab Ghost at close to retail, in every facebook groups, for his son. ToyFarce investigated... "I know that there were 47 days to back it, but at first, I decided to join in the bashing of the project, and telling everybody that this project sucked and that it would never be backed." said the Star Wars fan. "After it ended up being backed, I was preoccupied with reminding everyone that the tiers would never be unlocked anyway. When the first tier was unlocked, it was important that I told everyone that the second was never gonna happen. After Kanan, the second tier was unlocked, I admitted I was wrong but said that clearly, the third tier, Zeb, would never be unlocked. On the final day, as everything became unlocked, I kinda ran out of excuses... and as the project reached his end, I realized I actually forgot to back it, because it was a nice spaceship after all, and now, I saw it in the Ahsoka TV show and I kinda regret not backing it. I saw that the shipping date is planned for Fall 2024 and guess what? My son's birthday is right then as well!" ToyFarce really hope his son (whose name he couldn't seem to pretend to know) will get a Haslab Ghost for his birthday in Fall 2024... But that close to retail price? "Never gonna happen." More news at 11:00... at close to retail. *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  15. Last week, the Hasbro Star Wars team held a Fanstream to reveal figures from the Ahsoka Disney+ live action series (well, "reveal"... more like "talk about figures that had been leaked a few days before"...). During the Fanstream, the team showed that they had a Haslab The Ghost nonchalantly displayed in the background, sitting on top of a IKEA KALLAX shelf unit... which led to IKEA immediately selling over 13,000 units... and counting! "We noticed the traffic on our website went way up after the Hasbro Fanstream ended" said Bjorn Spökhylla, a representant from IKEA. "The Star Wars team mentioned that the big spaceship in the back fits perfectly on a 'normal shelf'. Chris from the Star Wars team kept calling it 'a normal shelf', but everybody knows he meant the one and only IKEA KALLAX shelf unit. So we were clever and put the KALLAX shelf unit on the front page of our website, so that Star Wars fans would immediately find that 'normal shelf' if they wanted it. Within minutes, over 13,000 units were ordered. They are now on backorder at most of our stores, but we are planning to have at least 17,000 units ready, just in case..." Only a bit over 2 days left to grab the Star Wars The Vintage Collection Haslab The Ghost and unlock Kanan and Zeb! Are you getting one? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... Hopefully, the Kallax shelf won't be discontinued, like our beloved Detolf... *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
