  1. Good day, Hope you check out my review of the Hasbro Marvel Legends Retro X-men Wolverine Action Figure Thanks @Outsiders
  2. The folks over at Yakface are reporting that in light of the news earlier this week about LucasFilm and The Mandalorian actress Gina Carano going their seperate ways, Hasbro is canceling most of their upcoming planned Cara Dune figures. According to the report, the planned reissues of the 6″ Black Series and Vintage Collection figures have been cancelled. The previously announced 3 3/4" Retro figure which was probably to far along in the production process to cancel is apparently still coming. It should come as no surprise to folks, but in light of all this recent news this week, secondary market prices on eBay for any Cara Dune figure has gone up exponentially. Whether any of these figures maintain any kind of long-term value after all the dust settles remains to be seen. MOD NOTE: This thread is about the canceling of action figures, not about why or should the actress have been fired. As long as people stay on topic and be civil to one another the thread will remain open for discussion. Like the previous thread related to the topic, at any point this goes off the rails the thread will be closed.
  3. Between Mattel and Super7 we are very close to finally being able to complete the original ThunderCats team as well as Mumm-Ra and the original mutants with modern sculpted figures. Before I go over my wish list of figures I would love to see Super7 do next, lets recap everything we know has come or coming fairly soon. First back in 2016 when Mattel first grabbed the license to do ThunderCats Classic figures, we got Wily Kit & Wily Kat in the forum of a SDCC exclusive 2-pack. I am sure at some point Super7 will get around to re-releasing these two in some way, but hopefully if you are collecting this line you've already gotten your hands on these. Now is the best time to switch to Verizon Fios Get the 100% fiber optic network and get Internet and TV your way Ad by Verizon Fios See More Next Mattel released their first wave of Classic figures which included Lion-O, Panthro, Jackalman, Mummified Mumm-Ra, and Pumyra. Shortly after the release of that initial wave, Mattel decided to hand the ThunderCats off to Super7 so they could continue on with the line. Super7 renamed the line ThunderCats Ultimates, and for their first wave of figures re-released Lion-O, Panthro, Jackalman and Mummified Mumm-Ra. These figures have updated accessories. The figure in my opinion with the best update is Mumm-Ra, who now includes a soft-good robe. This wave just started arriving in people's mailboxes and is available for purchase from our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com. For Super7's second wave which has yet to be released, it will include a re-release of Pumyra. The Mattel version was to tall, so that should be fixed with this one. You also get additional accessories like the figures in the first wave. The other figures include Grune, Mumm-Ra The Ever Living, and Tygra. The final wave we know about coming from Super7 for ThunderCats will include figures of Jaga, Captain Cracker, Slithe and Cheetara. So after the third wave is released, we will have an almost complete set of the original ThunderCats team in figure form, (Jaga, Lion-O, Panthro, Tygra, Cheetara, Wily Kit & Wily Kat). The only one missing will be Snarf. which I don't know how they will release him. He would be to small of a character to be released as single figure, but important enough I can't see them not doing him. Why he wasn't included as pack-in with the Lion-O figure is a mystery to me. After all we are getting Ma-Mutt with the Mumm-Ra The Ever Living figure. For the bad guys we will have both versions of Mumm-Ra as well as mutant leader Slithe and Jackalman. Monkian is the only original mutant member we need, so hopefully he will be announced for wave 4. So besides Monkian and Snarf (and possibly Wily Kit & Wily Kat for those who missed the Mattel ones), here is my breakdown on the characters I would love to see Super7 do next. While not an original mutant team member, probably my favorite one of the bunch was Vultureman. I hope to see him and Monkian in wave 4. For good guys, I think the Berbils need to happen. They were the Ewoks of Third Earth but they played a major role in helping the ThunderCats get settled in to their new home. I think due to their small size Super7 should do a three pack featuring their leader Ro-Bear Bill, Ro-Bear Belle and a generic Berbill. Going back to the bad guys, rounding out the mutants is Ratar-O. He is another favorite of mine. He is a definite must for me to get the figure treatment. I suppose I should go back to good guys, and I am sure Super7 will continue to give us a mix of good guys and bad guys in each wave. For me however I would rather see figures of Demolisher, Safari Joe and Driller before seeing any other good guy characters made. Hopefully Demolisher will come with his armadillo pilot Dirge and Joe will come with his robotic side-kick Mule. Ok so getting back to the good guys, we should get figures of Bengali and Lynx-O to round out the second wave of ThunderCats from the cartoon. These two would join Pumyra from wave 2. This is getting far enough down the road that I'm inclined to say lets wait and see if Super7 is still doing ThunderCats figures by this point. Assuming they are and if I had to pick any more, I would like to see Mandora and Quick-Pick for good guys. And Captain Shiner for another bad guy. Truth is, as long as we get all the original ThunderCats and Monkian with maybe Vultureman to round out the mutants, I will be pretty happy. Let us know in the COMMENTS SECTION below which characters you want to see Super7 do the most.
  4. Happy Easter, everybody! We hope you all had a nice Easter Sunday, and that your hunt for chocolate eggs (or toys!) was successful! After hunting for eggs, which one usually does in a yard, garden or park, it is not uncommon for us toy collectors to go for a toy hunt, which one usually does in a Target or a Walmart. This made us wonder if there was a possibility to combine both, by having the Easter Bunny bringing us action figures instead of the usual chocolate eggs. We asked several representative of Easter and couldn't get a right answer. Some seem to think that it's allowed. Other seem to think that you can only get action figures if they are Easter-themed (NECA Easter Bebop and Rocksteady two-pack!), or if they represent a rabbit (Usagi Yojimbo, Bugs Bunny, Bucky O'hare,...) or eggs (Pokemon's exeggcute?). However, the Easter Bunny Association gave us the confirmation that it is perfectly OK to ask for action figures on Easter, simply for the fact that it is not written anywhere that it is forbidden. Let's say it's a grey area! More news at 11:00... I'll go double-check the yard, in case the Easter Bunny brought some figures! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!

  7. NECA around midnight last night came out of left field with a surprise announcement that they would be doing 7" figures based on the classic 90's Disney Gargoyles animated series. For those not familiar with the series, despite being a Disney property was known at the time for having a fairly dark tone and told the story of ancient nocturnal creatures who were living in modern New York City. By day they would be stone statues and by night would come alive. While technically made for kids, the stories often would be based on Shakespearean themes. The show ran for 3 seasons and contain a total of 78 episodes. While NECA has not yet released any specific details, the teaser images they released show us they are doing a fairly detailed and articulated figure of the leader character named Goliath which looks like will come with two different headsculpts. Check out the images below and stay-tuned for more details on this as they become available.
  8. Ever since Hasbro announced doing their first 6" action figure based on the hit role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons back in September, the number 1 question I have seen pop up from fans is will they do figures based on the Dungeons & Dragons animated series the originally aired on CBS from 1983-1985. The series which was co-produced by Marvel Productions and had the animation done by Toei Animation ran for a total of 27 episodes. The premise of the show was pretty basic as it focused on six kids who while on a funhouse carnival ride were mysteriously transported into the titular realm. Once there they spent most episodes trying to find a way home while helping their guide the Dungeon Master. The cast of characters included Hank, the Ranger, Eric, the Cavalier, Diana, the Acrobat, Presto, the Magician, Sheila, the Thief, Bobby, the Barbarian, Uni, the Unicorn and the Dungeon Master. I should note Uni was actually voiced by Frank Welker who of course is better known as the voice behind Megatron in the original G1 Transformers cartoon. Like with every cartoon of the time, you also had cool villains such as Venger, the Force of Evil who was voiced by another famous Transformers alum Peter Cullen. Other villains included Shadow Demon, Night-Mare and Tiamat who was also voiced by Welker. The show developed quit a following from fans, but also experienced a certain level of controversy at the time due to what was perceived as being to violent for a kids cartoon at that time. The show also never aired it's final episode in season three which was titled "Requiem". Like most cartoons of the time, it to had it's own line of action figures which was produced by LJN in 1983. The strange thing about the toyline however is that it didn't actually include any figures of the main character from the show. Really the only connection the toyline had to the show was that the characters Warduke, Strongheart and Kelek who had figures made did appear in some episodes of the series. So now fast-forward to the present. Several companies have begun doing product from the show including Iron Studio's who have produced 1/10 scale diorama statues (see below). POP Culture Shock is also supposed to be doing some statues from the series as well. So with Hasbro starting to do 6" Dungeons & Dragons action figures, will they finally bring fans articulated figures from the classic animated series? The honest answer is I don't know. I have not heard any indications that such figures are in the works, and in fact my initial thoughts were that they wouldn't bother doing figures based on such an old show, mainly because I don't think they would get enough retail support for it. The one D&D figure they have done which they offered as an exclusive through their own HasbroPulse website has yet to sell out. But then something changed that has had me thinking the chances for getting such action figures has increased significantly. Earlier this month is was reported that actor Chris Pine was in talks to star in a live-action 'Dungeons And Dragons' movie from Paramount and Hasbro's own eOne. IF a live-action Dungeons And Dragons movie does in fact happen, then that changes the whole retailer landscape. All of a sudden you would likely see places like Target and Walmart want to carry action figures with the Dungeons And Dragons name on it, even if they are figures based on an old animated series. I mean obviously we would see movie figures as well, but a movie would likely give Hasbro a lot more wiggle room with what they could do with the license. Like I have seen, I am sure Hasbro is aware that there are many D&D fans who grew up in the 80's that would love to see figures based on the main characters from the animated series and while I won't say it's a guarantee, my feeling is that if a new live-action movie happens, especially if it's backed by names like Chris Pine, we will see Hasbro deliver us a whole slew of D&D stuff including collector oriented action figured from the old cartoon.
  9. Kevin Smith is recreating the Masters of the Universe in his image for Netflix and of course an action figure line comes along with it. I am pleasantly surprised at how much I am liking what I have seen so far, this Battle Cat is no exception.
