  1. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the 1/6 scale figure of the Joker from Batman: The Animated Series by Mondo, the SDCC limited edition version. The Mondo 1/6 scale figures have been pretty great until now, and that Joker is no exception. The figure itself is easily the best of that line, and the different heads and accessories are just the cherry on top! As usual with Mondo, the box is a work of art, with 2 of their amazing prints on it. It is a huge box too, which opens in the front thanks to magnets (how do they work?). There are 2 layers of inserts inside. (A hand had gotten loose during transportation, and I could hear it move inside the box which gave me a mini panic attack.) The Clown Prince of Crime comes with a ton of accessories: 5 extra heads (3 extra heads for the standard version, with the top hat version and the head from the 'Be a Clown' episode being the exclusive ones for this set), 5 extra sets of hands (12 hands in total), 2 smiling fishes, a normal (ball) bomb, a Joker dynamite stick, a Joker stack of dynamite, an ice pick, his playing cards and a stand. That is A LOT of accessories! With 6 different heads, he is only 2 heads short of being the 12 inch version of the DC Direct Expressions Pack. The various expressions are: Smiling, Smug, Laughing, Sad, top hat version and 'Be a Clown' version. The heads and hands are very easy to change, which is always a plus. The cel shading on the figure is nicely done too, with the back of the figure being a darker purple than the front. Articulation-wise, it does the job, even with single elbows and knees, ball joints for shoulders and legs, and swivels all around. Not torso/ab articulation, the jacket is a big rubber part on top of the body. It is a great figure, and my only complaint about it is the price. At $235, it is the most expensive of that line so far (Batman was $125 four years ago, Mr Freeze was $130 and Catwoman $165). I get that he comes with a ton of accessories + inflation, etc... but it is still a tough pill to swallow... and yes, I bought it anyway. The limited one, even. I know. More news at 11:00... Without Batman, Crime Has No Punchline.
  2. Earlier this week, a piece of news caught the toy world by surprise: Funko, the brand behind those walls of Pops you see in every toy stores, has acquired Mondo, the brand behind those prints that you'll never see in person, because they sell out in seconds. A few days later, Mondo announced a new Limited edition Masters of the Universe 1/6 figure of He-Man that is sure to sell out in seconds. Coincidence? An anonymous source told ToyFarce that there could be more to it: It turns out a lot of people working at Funko are also huge fans of Mondo's magnificent, exquisite art prints and posters, and have never been able to buy any. There are also lots of people that would really love to own one of the beautifully crafted 1/6 Masters of the Universe and Batman: The Animated Series figures that fly off the shelves right away, and can only be found at higher prices on the secondary market. "One easy solution: buy the company!" our source said. "That way, you can put a few of the items on the side before they go live online, and then you're sure to get them!". Are you going to (try to) get that Limited Edition 1/6 Mondo He-Man, that will go live on June 21, 2022, exclusively for 24 hours on Mondo's website? If you want to make sure you'll get one, you could try getting a job at Funko! More news at 11:00... SOLD OUT. *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!

  15. I won one of the recent drawings for $100 store credit and this is what I used it on, the Mondo Batman the Animated series 12" figure! It's awesome, I love it. It's a lot like an art model the animators would look at for reference when making the series. I took some simple pics and it's really fun to shoot. It's a great item if you have a love for that series and collect things specific to that version of the Bruce Timm Batman!
