In 2014, NECA set a new standard for collector action figures with the Ultimate format. Now, they’re going beyond Ultimate with...ULTRAmate! Stay-tuned for more details when they become available.

What could this even be, I mean isn't Ultimate "Ultimate" enough, the most accessories, the best likeness, soft goods etc, like what more could they even do? Something akin to smaller scale Hot Toys? or whatever Hasbro failed with Hyperreal(?), I mean like people are saying the price tags might be a bit too much for a lot of people, and I'm sure we are going to just see re-runs of older figures done with more.

or here this...it's some sort of funny catch, they are just really good looking Minimate style figures... Ultimate Minimates...

In this decade Neca made huge progress when it comes to articulation, they even have pinless double joints just like Hasbro, so I think this is gonna be their answer to Hasbro’s Maximum line, they will use all articulation, engineering experience they have for their most popular character from horror/scifi and turtles franchises at premium price.

Im curious what this will all mean but as of now im tenative to start over with say Friday the 13th Jason's that have better articulation. Or worse, have the few remaining ones be miles better than 90% of my collection.

I mean, I dont need my Horror Icons to have Spider-Man levels of articulation lol

Was just thinking about this line again after some time..

No news on what this is?

Id love it if it was a superarticulated line of all our favorite horror movie villains that scale with Marvel Legends.

You want me to rebuy my entire NECA collection? This is how you get me to do it

Cross line compatibility is really the next threshold for NECA in my view. Their sculpting has always been good, paint pretty good (though face printing would push those likenesses to the next level), they managed to get articulation right once they started doing Ultimates and durability is... well, better. Changing scale to work with other manufacturers lines is the only sensible way to get people to rebuy and with McFarlane losing DC & DST shuttering, is there that much support outside of NECA for 7 inch?

I look forward to seeing what this actually is, but the radio silence is pretty deafening. Maybe something at NYC Comic Con?

NECA, you okay? all the way back in April this cryptic announcement was made, if you had nothing, why did you jump the gun? where's the stuff dudeskis ?

I came in here thinking someone saw something...To be Honest I forgot about this, and I Ultramately don't care anymore.

Make C.H.U.D., The Killer from Split Second, Octoman and Homo Aquaticus from Leviathan...That is all.

Neca jumping the gun again lol. That happened with the Hammer license too...it was like 2 years from when an announcement was made to when they finally showed something lol. So maybe a long wait is in store for these ultramates...which id guess were their version of mini mates/vinylmates since Neca is owned by the same owner who owns the Diamond Select brand.
