Playmates Toys Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x G.I. Joe Crossover Figures?!?!

Shown below via overseas etailers is a look at a possible new line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x G.I. Joe Crossover Figures from Playmates. While not officially announced these images have seemed to show up and showcases the following items:

• Leonardo as Snake Eyes
• Michelangelo as Shipwreck
• Krang as Destro
• Shredder as Cobra Commander
• Raphael as Roadblock
• Donatello Dial-Tone
• Bebop and Rocksteady as Dreadnoks
• April with A.W.E Shell Striker
• Turtle Fly Copter

 Ot sure I'll go in based on the scale. Wish these were being done by hasbro or mattel somehow instead.

I'll wait to see costs and scale, but I could be persuaded for one of the vehicles if the colors aren't that intensely saturated.

A Concept that On paper would be intriguing, but seeing these designs, it's a no, they are looking uninspired and like left over relics from 1990, not particularly pleasing, Odd choices for the turtle/joe character crossovers...I think Ralph should have been Snake Eyes, Leo - Duke, Mike - Chuckles, Don - Flint or something....seems like some odd choices personally, the Villains are better in Concept, also I got to presume April is Scarlett... either way these don't look very great, so I'd pass, nowhere near as cool as the Godzilla mash-ups. 

 

can at least Baxter be Mindbender, Leather Head be Croc Master.

I'm tired of this.  Crossing TMNT with other lines has been done to death.  There was the Batman crossover, the TF crossover, the Power Rangers crossover, the MOTU crossover.....there's nothing original here anymore.

The Villains are much cooler then the heroes, mainly Krang-Destro and Slash-Stormshadow, but I'm good on these personally, Well except I want April O' Scarlett, but of course your gonna make people buy a whole vehicle to get her of course, so nope.

I think April is being released twice -- one single carded and once with the vehicle.

At least that is how I read the Gizmodo article:

"The main action figure line will see Leo, Donnie, Mikey, and Raph transformed into Snake Eyes, Dial-Tone, Shipwreck, and Roadblock, respectively, and joined by their best friend April O’Neill as Joe legend Scarlett."

The second, you can check out below—the AWE Shell-Striker, an all-terrain scout vehicle that likewise features functioning missile launchers as well as space for you to hang the whole Ninja Turtle team on it, even an included exclusive version of the April/Scarlett figure.

Well, I do have to say the Turtles look exactly like you’d think they would as a GI Joe crossover subline. I kinda wonder how much impact the Joe aspects will have to younger audiences but I guess Turtles is th stronger brand for younger consumers. They look fun but not enough to try and import here to NZ if they’re not released here at retail.

Can we see next year Playmates carry on the Joe license but for other products crossovers? Even there own chucky style figure line like they are doing here...️

These will be available everywhere.

They will have an Amazon exclusive version of the Turtle-Fly copter with an exclusive Raph as Wild Bill.

They also are doing a SDCC exclusive version of Snake-Eyes/Leo with Timber/Rahzar.

To go along with these they are also re-issuing the Turtle Tank and a 4-pack with the Military Turtles that comes with a parachute. Those will be released as Target store exclusives.

These will be the only figures they do for this line.

So April won't be single card. That first press release was confusing but I guess this makes more sense. It still reads weirdly to say an exclusive version of April/Scarlett if that's the only version of April.

That's a bummer, since April was the only one I was planning on getting, but not spending the extra moonies for a vehicle I have zero interest in having, so Booooo
