Industry insiders confirmed that the toy world is now operating inside a multiverse where every timeline eventually leads to Batman, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, RoboCop,... being announced by at least two brands at the same time, each claiming a "completely different interpretation". The latest multiversal overlap began when INART revealed a Batman from Arkham Origins, shortly followed by Hot Toys announcing a Batman from Batman Origins. Collectors were encouraged to notice the subtle differences by opening both announcements side by side and squinting. Of course, they're not the same scale, but it's to prove a point. A similar incident occurred when GONG Studio and UPF (formerly LPZZ) both announced Batman: Hush figures, with both companies assuring fans that their versions are unique thanks to different fabric textures, head sculpts, and slightly different levels of emotional intensity. Speaking of LPZZ (now UPF), they have been in a tug of war with INART, announcing pretty much the same Batman-related products for a while, from a BVS Batfleck figure, a Battinson, figures from the Dark Knight Rises and the entire cast of Dark Nights: Metal. Oh, and those Absolute Batman figures too! The phenomenon extended beyond Batman, as JFS Toys, Hiya Toys and Trick or Treat Studios are all announcing RoboCop figures, while Lingjihun and HeatBoys announced highly articulated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures, proving that in every universe, at least two companies will release the same license at the same time. Despite accusations of copying homework, brands maintain that everything is purely coincidental.
