  1. "Do you have any idea how much the rent for a laboratory in New York costs? 300 bucks is NOTHING!" said a member of the scientific community from New York. Last tuesday, on "Turtle tuesday", NECA put their new sewer diorama up for pre-order: Donatello's laboratory. The price point ($299.99) led to a lot of complaints from the toy community (so basically, a regular day). One community that didn't have an issue with it is the scientific community, who has been victim of the high prices of rental of laboratories in New York City for years. ToyFarce investigated... "When a colleague told me that we could get a fully equipped lab for under $300, I thought he was going mad!" said Professor Stockman (no relation). "The price of a lab is New York is outrageous! It's at least 20 times that price, and you only rent it for a few days! If you can get a fully equipped laboratory for $299.99, go for it! That's a steal!" Another professor (Professor Perry, no relation either) told us that it was also a great experiment, showing to toy collectors how expensive laboratory space and equipment can cost. "It's a good laboratory, even! Sure, it could use a bit more laboratory glassware, as there are no beakers or flasks present on the pictures, but the space only should cost way more than that! I'm also 98% sure it doesn't really follow any laboratory safety regulations, but at that price, who cares?" "You see, one side has a lot of nice painted details on the lab equipment, while the other side doesn't. Isn't it fascinating?" Are you getting Donatello's lab? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... Cowabunga, science dudes! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  2. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at more TMNT: The Last Ronin figures from NECA. Namely, the figures of Raphael, the Foot Clan's Karai, a Foot Bot and a Synja Patrol Bot. It had been a while since we've had figures from The Last Ronin (previous review here), and all of a sudden, when it rains, it pours! Raphael, Karai and the Foot Bot all came out last month, while the Synja Patrol Bot has been randomly available exclusively at Best Buy for some time, and is now available for pre-order everywhere else. In case you missed it, TMNT: The Last Ronin is an excellent TMNT comic book. Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the original creators of the TMNT, reunited to give us a great story in a future, battle-ravaged New York City, where the last remaining of the Ninja Turtles seeks justice for his family (Warning: there will be spoilers in this review). The box art is beautiful, and the figures come with a lot of accessories. It's one of my favorite lines to collect at the moment. First off, from the flashback scenes: Raphael is a deceptively awesome figure, a sleeper hit, if you will. He's a bit smaller and looks quite bulky, but that figure can MOVE! He's build like a fridge but can kick butts! He comes with an extra head (screaming), 3 extra pairs of hands, his sais, one arrow (aww...sad) and a katar/ throwing knife (aww...again). This is the version of Raphael from his final showdown in the comic book, and the paint and details on that figure are amazing. Straight out of the comic book pages. One of the best figures of the year (and it came out in January). Karai, one of the leaders of the Foot Clan, is the one who Raphael has his final showdown with, so it makes sense that she came out at the same time. She also comes with an extra screaming head, 5 extra hands, her katana with sheath, and a katar/throwing knife (which she uses on Raphael, so kinda weird that they both come with it, but I get some people might just get Raph). The figure has decent articulation and great head sculpts, but could probably move a bit more since she's a ninja. Now, back to the future (as in not from a flashback scene), the Foot Bot is a great figure, perfect for army building. He comes with 3 extra pairs of hands, a decapitated head, a smashed head, 2 katanas and 2 forearm attachments, to extend his arms. That figure looks great, with tons of details, just like in the comic book. The additional "battle damaged" heads are a great addition, you can have them lying on the floor next to your Last Ronin figure. Finally, the Synja Patrol Bot, also a sleeper hit! It looks great, with lots of lines to make it look like he came right out of the pages of the comic book. He comes with 2 heads, so you can have it as some sort of 'leader' or just 'troop', a damaged head with awesome details (the eye!), 2 extra pairs of hands, a katana with a sheath that can be attached on the bot's back, and a gun. Another great army builder figure, it does make sense to have 2 to have a leader and a troop. Caution: The figure comes with stickers which you can put on the figure to show its rank (depending on the head you use), and the stickers are taped at the bottom of the plastic insert. Be careful not to discard those! This figure looks great and has good articulation. NECA has already revealed the next figures in this line, which are Leonardo, Splinter and a bloody 'First to Fall' edition of Raphael (aaw... that's cruel). They are still available for pre-order on NECA's online store. We've also seen the other turtles at various conventions last year, so they should be available soon. More news at 11:00... "Foolish undisciplined brute!"
  3. "You will become....the Last Ronin. Prepare yourself, Michelangelo."
  4. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Foot Training Keno and Foot Soldier two-pack from TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze by NECA. After the SDCC Exclusive Keno set that came out last year, collectors kept saying not to buy it, because there would 'most certainly, 100% sure' be a normal release of it. Well, here it is! The scooter only turned into a thicc Foot Soldier... Foot Training Keno and Foot Soldier is fun two-pack, one of those that is not indispensable, yet you have to get it if you're a completist (like the upcoming Professor Perry two-pack... Can't wait!). The two-pack comes with the 2 figures, an extra head sculpt and an extra pair of hands for Keno, 2 extra pairs of hands for the Foot Soldier, the little bells from Keno's final test (had to google that one!), an ooze canister and a very nice punching bag accessory. The Keno in foot training gear figures is another really cool figure of Ernie Reyes Jr. The 2 heads that come with this one are different from the ones from the Scooter set, which means we now have 4 heads for Keno. Great details and paint. The punching bag is a nice accessory that can be used for tons of other toy photography. Mine has the 'Teezus' logo printed a bit off on it, but I will survive. The Foot Soldier is the THICC one from the beginning of the movie (if I remember correctly). It's nice to have a slightly different Foot Soldier, so they don't all look the same. This one is a bit taller and has a belly. I guess he didn't train as hard as the other ones... Maybe it's the computer guy, that sits behind a desk a lot? Same articulations as the ones from the previous movies. It's pretty simple, as long as NECA will release figures from the TMNT movies, I will buy them, deep cuts and all. More news at 11:00... Keno, wasn't it? You seem to be the only one worthy of a final test...

  6. He is back and sexier than ever! Earlier this year, Super7 announced a sexy, more modern version of the Rat King as part of their 10th wave of TMNT Ultimates! and toy collectors were quick to complain about it (unheard of, right?). After removing him from the wave and replacing him with another figure, collectors were then mad that they would not get that sexy Rat King figure that they complained about in the first place. Thankfully, the (Rat) King is back! Do you remember when we memed Morbius to death and Sony decided to re-release it in cinemas (for it to fail a second time)? Well, it's a bit like that: In March 2023, Super7 announced the line up of their tenth wave of TMNT Ultimates! action figures, which included a sexier, more modern version of the Rat King (allegedly based on his appearance in the game TMNT: Shredder's Revenge). Fans felt ratty that day (ha!), and decided to complain about it, as it didn't look like the one from their childhood. You see, it was too pretty! In April 2023, Super7 announced that the Rat King would be replaced by an action figure of Karai (which had weirdly been revealed in leaked photos as part of the wave in the first place, which was weird... it was a bit of a mess), which led to collectors doing a complete 180° and say that they actually wanted the Sexy Rat King. "We were just complaining because it's fun! We didn't want it to be cancelled!" said a fan. Fast forward to November 2023, Super7 announced their eleventh wave of TMNT Ultimates!, and lo and behold, a new and improved Rat King will be part of that wave, along with one of his sexy head sculpts for those who want to display him like that (who wouldn't?!). Oh yeah, there's also a Rapper Mike, a Ninja Nomad Leonardo and a Damaged Foot Soldier too as part of that wave. More news at 11:00... It's RATTING time!
  7. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the TMNT: The Secret of the Ooze SDCC Exclusive Keno with Scooter set from NECA! Sure, SDCC was a while ago, and we're now closer to NYCC, but Keno had been sitting in my backlog and I totally forgot to take pictures... So a couple of months late, here is Keno with his scooter! The set comes in a gigantic pizza box, filled with a bunch of items that will probably end up in a drawer, à la Loot Crate: the Keno w/Scooter action figure set, a Roy's Greenwich Village keychain, a Roy's Greenwich Village t-shirt, a Roy's Greenwich Village magnet and an employee of the month card of Keno from March 1991. The set was $100 which is a bit much, even if it's fun when you open it the first time, before throwing most of the content in a drawer and forget about it forever (like a lot of Loot Crate items, basically). Keno comes with an extra head, 2 extra pairs of hands, a scooter (duh) along with the pizza box, the part to attach the pizza box to the scooter and a delivery bag, which even contains a mini cardboard pizza box. The only thing missing would have been tiny pizza slices, like the ones that came with the turtles, inside the box to complete it, but I'm nitpicking here. The Keno figure had been long-awaited, with actor Ernie Reyes Jr teasing it for some time and it's finally here! The likeness is pretty great on both head sculpts and it's a fun figure. He has the same outfit as in the first part of the movie, before infiltrating the Foot. The scooter is a pretty cool accessory to have too. This thing can be used in so many other toy photography! Deadpool riding a scooter, Batman riding a scooter... the possibilities are endless! NECA has since revealed another Keno figure, in Foot training gear, that will come in a two-pack with a Foot soldier. More news at 11:00... "Dream on, Dweeb!"
  8. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the SDCC Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Samurai turtle 4-pack from NECA. Finally, the 4-pack we always dreamed of! The movie might have been terrible, but the toys are great! Ninja turtles dressed as Samurai, what more could you ask for? (apart from slightly better articulation...). The giant VHS box made its return for the third time, just like the first 2 SDCC movie 4-packs. It also comes with a big sleeve so you can see what's inside. The picture in the front is like the original VHS, but with figures. Shout out to YHS Podcast for getting their quote immortalized on the box! The Samurai turtles come packed with accessories: 4 extra head sculpts (one each, which work with previous figures too), a ton of extra hands, 4 wired soft goods robes, the turtles' weapons (katanas, sais, bo staff and nunchucks), 2 old swords, 4 masks, 3 scepters (ancient, damaged and homemade). The samurai helmets attach to the bandana knots in the back of their heads, which is great to have them stay put. The masks look great, as do the soft goods robes. The details on the figures are amazing. It's a fantastic set to display on your shelf. Comparison pics with the previous movie turtles. More news at 11:00... Cue *Tarzan Boy* from Baltimora... Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh!

  10. It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Casey Jones as The Phantom figure from the Universal Monsters x TMNT from NECA. Another fantastic figure from that line, which will continue for a few more, as we learned at the NECA booth at San Diego Comic Con. Casey Jones wears a mask, the Phantom of the Opera wears a mask... another mash up that makes total sense! As usual, the packaging has an awesome illustration by Daniel Horne. I've seen someone online that put all the packaging art together and framed it, and it looked VERY cool. Maybe a print with all the art from the boxes could be a good idea, NECA? (*wink wink*). Casey Jones as the Phantom comes with 2 extra heads (broken mask and skull), 3 extra pairs of hands along another set wearing hockey gloves, a soft goods cloak, and 2 hockey sticks. The soft goods cloak has wires and can be posed nicely. The face with the broken mask has some gnarly details, with an open mouth missing teeth. It's definitely going to be the display one! The red hockey glove arm is a fun touch, this figure has an awesome design. A perfect fusion of the 2 characters. I wonder if Casey Jones can play the organ... The normal mask sculpt also kinda looks like the mask of Mick Thompson from SlipKnot, which is a good thing too! (NECA SlipKnot figures: CONFIRMED? By god, I would get them all in a heartbeat.) The next 2 in that line were revealed at San Diego Comic Con, and they are Leonardo as the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Raphael as the Wolfman. I cannot wait for not only the figures, but also the box art! More news at 11:00... Goongala-hahahaha! MWAHAHAHAHAA!
  11. Last week, tons of toy collectors discovered something that New Yorkers have been knowing all along: The New York City real estate prices are way too darn high! "The prices have been creeping up for a long time, and it has gotten out of hand!" said a long time NY resident. "Some of us can't even afford to rent a room in the sewers!". ToyFarce investigated. Last Thursday, NECA put their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Cartoon) Sewer Lair Living Room diorama up for pre-order on their website. The diorama itself seems to be massive, and according to the many fans that saw it in person at San Diego Comic Con last month, looks pretty amazing. The only issue collectors seem to have with it is the price: $299. The reason for it is unfortunately pretty simple: Living in New York City is really expensive. "The housing market in NYC is incredibly expensive at the moment, and selling a reproduction of the sewer lair, which is a real property, has to match that price." a NECA employee told ToyFarce. "If we priced it too low, it could have had a negative impact on the value of the real place. And that is the price just for one room! There's still the kitchen and Donatello's lab also coming later!" Are you going to pick up the NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Cartoon) Sewer Lair Living Room diorama? Or are you going to try to make your own/ 3D print one that will inevitably collapse under the weight of the street diorama the second you put it on top? Let us know in the comments! You can find all the infos about the NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Cartoon) Sewer Lair Living Room diorama here! More news at 11:00... How about that shelf real estate? I hear there's less and less space!
  12. "I'm happy they arrived so fast!", "Wow, these look so good!" - Those could have been the words from collectors popping up all over various NECA or TMNT facebook groups in the last few days. However, the unthinkable happened: Some orders were shipped in multiple packages (*audible gasp from the crowd*). Uncertainty! Panic! Betrayal! These are some of the emotions that took over collectors, as they posted their complaints all over social media. More than one package? Can you imagine?! "I was pretty stoked to get my package this early, since nobody posted pictures yet, so I could be one of the first to post pics and get all the likes!" said a collector from Connecticut. "But when I saw the size, I knew something was off. It couldn't possibly fit a pizza box!" After opening the package, the collector found out that something was indeed off: "Keno was missing from the package, so I did what any sane person would do - I went on social media and complained: Classic NECA BS! Of course they forgot something! I HAAAATE!". The post got a lot of comments and reactions, and soon, more would have the same issue. "I ordered 3 things and got only 2." said a collector from New York. "So I wrote a very angry post online, before even opening the figures I actually got. Later that day, I received the second package, but I decided to leave my post online, because a lot of people commented and reacted to it, it's kinda my best post now..." It was later revealed (and confirmed by NECA) that due to the size of the TMNT Secret of the Ooze Keno with scooter bundle, some orders were shipped in multiple packages, and we would just have to be patient. BONUS: A collector name Timothy M. (from the TMNT Party Wagon Facebook group) received his TMNT III 4-pack, which included 2 Capri Suns in the package! You hear that? Free juice! ToyFarce has since heard of many other collectors getting extra snacks in their packages, including one that got a full rotisserie chicken with it (picture included). ToyFarce is now crossing fingers for a full 7-course meal from NECA when the multiple packages of the 2-items SDCC order will arrive. More news at 11:00... 2 packages? The audacity! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  13. It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the ninja turtles from the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem animated movie, from Playmates. The turtles are back, baby! (Not that they ever left...). New movie means new merch, and the figures from Playmates are tons of fun. I only picked the 4 brothers (for now...), but I feel like more will join them after I've seen the movie (and as soon as I can find them in Europe...). The new movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, comes out on August 2nd, and is directed by Jeff Rowe and produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (who also co-wrote it). The new computer animated movie has fun designs, and a stacked list of voice actors. The toy line was announced a bit prior to the movie, with a ton of action figures, vehicles and playsets already available. The 4 ninja brothers, Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michaelangelo (in no particular order), come with their respective weapons, a mini turtle and the classic plastic weapons racks that the figures from the late 80s came with. Right in the nostalgia! The figures are between 4.25 and 4.75 inches tall, with Raphael as the tallest and Michaelangelo as the smallest. Decent amount of articulation and accessories, and for $9.99 each, it's really hard to say no! The action figures were designed by Ramirez Studios, founded by toy sculptor extraordinaire Phil Ramirez, who started working at Varner Studios right during the original TMNT craze in the late 80s/early 90s, so getting to do the figures for the new movie kinda feels like coming 'full circle'. Absolutely well deserved too, since Phil has worked on pretty much most of the toys of our childhoods (for 80s/90s kids at least, Playmates, Toybiz, McFarlane Toys,...). Phil has been sharing pictures of the prototypes of the figures on his instagram, for those interested! More news at 11:00... Cowabunga! (I do not even know if they say 'cowabunga' in the new one, but i'm excited!)
  14. Well, Cowabunga, dudes! Between the new movie coming out soon, the 4-pack from Mezco announced in January, the BST AXN IDW figures from the Loyal Subjects, the NECA drops at Target a couple of weeks ago (and on Target website now), the NECA Convention Exclusives pre-sale last week, and the merch from the new movie now flooding our shelves, it's been a very good year for TMNT fans and collectors (very hard on our/their wallets, though). ToyFarce found out the real reason behind the absurd amount of TMNT merch that we can find this day... and it might be SHREDDER?! Shredder, the mortal enemy of the Ninja Turtles, might be the reason why we're seeing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles merch everywhere. Who would have thought? A disgruntled member of the Foot Clan gave ToyFarce the scoop: "Master Shredder's goal is to make everybody hate the Turtles", he said. "Since all his previous attempts have failed and people kept loving them, he is now trying something else. The more turtles are on the market, the more people will start to get bored of them, which will have a bad effect on their morale, and then, Master Shredder and the Foot Clan will be able to defeat them! We will finally dine on Turtle soup!" The only problem is that it seems to have backfired, and people seem to like the 4 brothers even more! "Nooooooooooo!" What TMNT products have you picked up or are you planning to pick up? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... Come face your doom! Join the Foot Clan!
  15. Another year, another Target 'Geek-Out' event that gets spoiled a week before! Once again, Target jumped the gun before the event even started, by putting most of the NECA products that will be revealed during the event out on the shelves too early, especially the TMNT related ones! A few days ago, the Target website announced the upcoming Summer Geek-Out event which said "Starting Friday, 6/16, we'll drop new & exclusive collectibles from your favorite fandoms & brands for six weeks." Sounds nice, right? Six weeks of new toys and reveals, from June 6th to July 21st... except most of the products have already been spotted (and purchased) in shops all around the country. First, there was one post on social media, showing a shopping cart full of NECA TMNT goodness... then another... then another... Target will release 'bonus exclusive video content for us to geek out over' about stuff that are already old news for some. YAY! ToyFarce asked Kyle, a 22 year old employee from NJ about the situation, and how it could prevented. His reply was "Wait... What's a Summer Geek-Out? What is a NECA? Who are you again?" First drop? I wonder what it's going to be! More news at 11:00... Target would probably SUCK at surprise parties! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  16. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the different TMNT: The Last Ronin figures from NECA (so far!). It's the last week of the NECA Haulathon, so we'll finish it with a bang by checking one of the actual Haulathon offerings, the Rogue Derelict version of the Last Ronin. The 'Armored' and 'Unarmored' versions of that figure were released in January, but were also on my pile of unopened toys, so... 3 turtles with one stone? First of all, TMNT: The Last Ronin is an excellent TMNT comic book. Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird reunited to give us a great story in a future, battle-ravaged New York City, where the last remaining of the Ninja Turtles seeks justice for his family (I will try not to spoil it for those who haven't read it). The box art of the figures are reminiscent of the comic book art, with the black and red colors heavily used, just like some of the covers. The figures come packed with accessories. These are some of the best figures NECA has released this year so far (and they came out in January!). The Armored version comes with a ton of accessories: An extra head sculpt and 2 bandana parts, 4 extra hands, a pair of googles, a grappling hook, a smoke bomb, 4 shurikens, a tonfa (or baton), and of course, the 4 weapons of the brothers: a katana, a bo staff, a sai and a pair of nunchucks. Most of the weapons can be attached on the figure, like in the comic book, which is great. The hood attached to the head is removable and can be replaced by one of the 2 bandana parts (flat or in the wind). The figure has decent enough articulations, even if bulky. It just looks really awesome. I can't really say anything bad about it! The Unarmored figure comes with an extra head sculpt, 5 extra hands, a broken katana, a sai, a pair of nunchucks, a tonfa (or baton), 4 throwing knives, Splinter's journal and a mouser. The figure itself looks great, with textures that remind of the original Mirage comics. This turtle has been through things, there are lots of scars on its skin and shell. This is the saddest figure of all 3 also, with a very sad facial expression, the broken katana and Splinter's journal... The NECA Target Haulathon Rogue Derelict figure is pretty much the exact same figure as the Armored one, but with a red and black coat of paint, as a lot of the covers of the comic book predominantly used red and black colors. He comes with the same accessories as the Armored one: An extra head sculpt and 2 bandana parts, 4 extra hands, a pair of googles, a grappling hook, a smoke bomb, 4 shurikens, a tonfa (or baton), and of course, the 4 weapons of the brothers: a katana, a bo staff, a sai and a pair of nunchucks, but all those accessories are also painted red and black. I wasn't sure if I would get it at first, but after seeing a few pictures online, I had to, it just looks too good. The paint on it is amazing, and the white highlights make for a nice contrast. NECA revealed a few more figures are coming on their checklists during their 12 days of downloads at the end of last year, so I'm looking forward for more! Bonus: Playmates also did a Last Ronin figure, which is a great mashup of old action figure design with the Last Ronin suit. Not sure yet if i will open it, but thought that I would add it here. 17. Paramount’s video game division is currently developing a new AAA adventure based on the adaptation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, the graphic novel released by IDW in 2020. The Last Ronin was a five-issue miniseries, written by Kevin Eastman, based on an idea with TMNT co-creator Peter Laird in the late 1980s. Doug Rosen, senior vice president for games and emerging media at Paramount Global announced that the game will be a darker, more mature take on the Ninja Turtles and will be authentic to the story of The Last Ronin, which is set in a future where only one of the turtles has survived. Being primarily a single-character game, no information on which surviving turtle will be the main character, but other characters could be playable in flashback sequences. Rosen compared the upcoming third-person action role-playing game to Sony’s recent God of War titles. The identity of that lone remaining Ninja Turtle was something of a mystery when The Last Ronin comic series was announced. The arc’s story was built around a Ninja Turtle who wore a black mask and fought using all four turtles’ signature weapons: nunchaku, sai, bo staff, and dual katanas. It wasn’t until the final pages of the first issue of The Last Ronin that the lone surviving turtle’s identity was revealed: Michelangelo. The remaining turtles, and Master Splinter, have all been exterminated by the Foot Clan, leading Mike to seek justice for their deaths in a battle-ravaged New York City. Source: Polygon
