  1. After last week's debacle with their Walmart exclusive TMNT Movie Casey Jones and Raphael In Disguise 2-pack sale, NECA has said they have heard the feedback from you and are actively working to improve things. Expect news in the coming weeks regarding our SDCC offerings and future TMNT availability online. They have also put out this phase 1 release schedule for both their TMNT Target and Walmart products for in stores and online. Cartoon Target Exclusive -Wave 3 - 7/16, 8/6, 8/20 -Metalhead - 7/16 -Bebop And Rocksteady Restock - 9/3 SDCC Exclusive Items (Target Exclusive) -Exclusive Figure Boxed Set - 7/23 -Exclusive Merchandise Bundle - 7/23 Movie Walmart Exclusive -Casey & Raphel In Disq - 6/29 -Leonardo/Donatello - 7/6 -Michelangelo and Raphael - 7/6 -Super Shredder - 8/10 Arcade (Specialty Exclusives) -Wave 2 - 7/14 While it's nice to have these release dates, the real fix for the problems collectors have had finding these items, is making sure the stores are stocking them in sufficient enough numbers. If the product is made readily available, then the scalpers won't buy them all up to try and resale them on the secondary market, because the demand will no longer be there for that. In other words they have to start shipping enough so they don't sell out in seconds, or require someone having to be there the moment they are put on shelves in order to get them. As much as we hope NECA is successful in accomplishing that, at this point we will believe it when we see it.
  2. Deadline reports that a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles CG movie reboot is in the works for thw big screen from Seth Rogen's Point Grey Pictures. This is the second time the Turtles have gotten the CG treatment on the big screen. The last time was from Warner Bros. back in 2007.

  11. A company by the name of Super Impulse is launching a new line of 1.25" micro figures called "World's Smallest". These figures have three points of articulation, and includes a replica of the original action figure blister card, for display and storage, display stand and accessories. The are doing figures for G.I. Joe, Transformers, TMNT, Masters of the Universe, Power Rangers and Horror characters. Look for these to start seeing release in June and throughout the summer. You can pre-order these from our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com.
  12. NECA's Randy Falk sat down with Pixel Dan to talk about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Jaws, Defenders of the Earth and more. Some of the key takeaways from the interview include the following: There will be 4 NECA SDCC exclusives offered this year and they are looking to work with some of their retail partners so they will be made available both online and at brick and mortar stores, since the con itself has been canceled. Randy confirmed that a Rocksteady in Bunny Suit figure will be offered in one of the LootCrate bundles, to go with the Bebop in a Bunny Suit, as seen in the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episode “The Turtles and the Hare”. The Bebop figure is only available when you buy all the 3 Turtle crates as a bundle. The Rocksteady figure should be the one offered in the cartoon based crate, to go along with the Mirage Shredder and recently announced Arcade Electrocuted Turtle figures. For the TMNT movie line coming to Walmart, things start off in June with the Casey Jones and Raph in Disguise 2-pack. Casey's mask is not removable, however they did sculpt an unmasked head. Unfortunately they were not able to get the actors likeness rights in order to release it. After the Casey 2-pack, they will be re-releasing the 4 movie turtle figures in 2-pack form. The only real difference with these Walmart versions and the previous Gamestop ones is, the new Walmart ones will feature additional headbands. There is a Movie FOOT Clan Army Builder Pack coming and they are hoping to be able to include the weapons rack previously released in last years SDCC exclusive set. Beyond that Randy said they have two more 2-packs for the first movie coming to Walmart as well as some type of movie accessory pack. Then of course they also have the TMNT II The Secret Of The Ooze Super Shredder deluxe figure and Tokka & Rahza 2-pack. The Tokka and Rahza 2-pack will cost more than their other 2-packs and likely cost around $60, as opposed to $50. For the Target exclusive TMNT animated series line, Randy said wave 3 will be shipping soon and wave 4 will soon follow after that. By the end of the year Randy expects that they will have released around 40 different animated series figures. Randy said they are looking to release the TMNT animated series diorama that was on display at Toy Fair. Originally they were looking to first make it available during SDCC this year. Now it will likely be offered as a specialty store item with hopes of getting it out by end of year. Sometime after series 5 gets released. While NO where near being confirmed at this time of being able to happen, Randy said they had been doing some design work on possibly doing a Animated Series Sewer Lair diorama. The idea would be that it would attach to the building diorama so you would have the building above ground and the lair under the street. They have also been looking at ways of possibly doing a Party Wagon van vehicle. Randy goes on to say that they have a big expensive Turtle item coming to Target which is set to be released in mid-november, just in time for the holidays. This item is going to cost around $100. If that item sells well, it should help open the door to being able to do other things like the Sewer Lair and Party Wagon. Randy also indicated they really want to do a Usagi Yojimbo figure for the Turtles line, but that some additional negotiations still need to happen first. The Usagi character is controlled by it's creator Stan Sakai, so they need his blessing as well as Nickelodeons to make that figure happen, which Randy doesn't foresee being a problem. Randy also teased the possibility of doing characters like Napoleon Bonafrog and his entire clan. More quarter scale figures are coming as well. For the movie look for Splinter and Casey Jones to be released some time in 2021. Randy said they also plan on doing animated versions of the 4 turtles, with the idea that each will come with interchangeable facial expressions. Outside of Turtles Randy talked about things like how they have been working on a huge 30" Jaws shark figure which will feature a diorama base and articulated jaw and fins. Because of the size and cost, they may end up looking to crowdsourcing to get it released. Randy said they have a couple more Godzilla figures coming, but then after that the line will likely go on hiatus due to there being a new master toy license holder for the property. I don't think we should expect any Kong vs Godzilla products from NECA. The newly announced 7" scale Defenders of the Earth line likely won't be released until 2021. Randy hopes that either Target or Walmart will carry these figures. The plan is to release Flash Gordon, Ming the Merciless and The Phantom first, followed by Mandrake the Magician and Lothar. Other figures have been sculpted for the line which they also plan on releasing. If the line does well then they may look to expand it and do figures based on the Flash Gordon comics and animated series. Randy finished up by saying they people should look for more NECA product in general being available in more Walmart stores by September.
  13. I've been collecting since I was a child in the 1980s; much of what I have reflects what I kept as a kid (G.I. Joe, Transformers, Voltron, Star Wars) but I have thinned it down to what I can show off to reduce a bunch of bins in storage. It is quite diverse with a lot of smaller toy lines represented; some of my favorites including Starcom, Captain Power, ExoSquad and COPS to name a few. The packaged Ninja Turtles were found in my grandparents attic when we cleaned out their house (fresh with a 1988 Kmart receipt). Cabinets are the Billy cases from IKEA with the optional doors and two DETOLF cases I got from a friend. My wife gifted me the basement when we moved in to do with as I pleased, these are the current results after 10 years of display.
  14. Randy Falk from NECA Toys recently said in an interview that he thought we would see the release of 40 different figures by the end of the year for their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Animated series line. Because of that, we thought it would be fun to compile a list of all the figures we know about, and see how close we are to that 40 number. We are going to assume Randy wasn't including the original SDCC exclusive figures that were later released in the Target waves, or the re-issue of the Shredder and Krang figures that were originally offered in wave 1, and then released in a new 2-pack. We will count all the figures in wave 2, even though all but two were repaints of figures from wave 1. Based on what we know, we don't quit get to 40 yet, but we assume NECA has a few more unknown surprises in store for us between now and the end of the year. So lets start off with the figures that have already been released in the first two Target store exclusive waves. Wave 1: Michelangelo & FOOT Soldier, Donatello & Krang, Leonardo & Shredder, Raphael & Foot Soldier Wave 2: Bebop & Rocksteady, Raphel & Michelangelo, Leonardo & Donatello, FOOT Solider 1 & FOOT Soldier 2 That bring the total up to 16 figures. Now lets look at the figures we know are coming for waves 3 and 4. Wave 3 is slated for release in late June and wave 4 will be out shortly after that. Wave 3: April O'Neil & Bashed FOOT Soldier, Casey Jones & Slashed FOOT Soldier, Leatherhead and Slash Wave 4: Splinter & Baxter Stockman, Granitor & Traag, Roadkill Rodney & Triceraton-Soldier That bring our total up to 28 figures. Now Wave 5 which Randy said would be out by the end of the year has yet to be revealed, but they did show off at Toy Fair Triceraton Captain Zorax and Zork, so we are going to assume those will make up at least two figures in that wave. That bring us to 30 figures. Now besides the regular 2-packs coming to Target, NECA has announced the release of 3 different Deluxe figures for this year that will around cost $30 each. Deluxe Metalhead Deluxe FOOT Soldier with multiple heads, hands and accessories Deluxe Krang with Android Body That brings the total figures being released to 33. Now the Deluxe Krang is also coming with a mini Baby Shredder figure which we are not counting as a separate figure, though I guess technically it could considered as such. We also know that NECA is releasing figures of Rocksteady and Bebop in bunny costumes through Lootcrate. No images of those have been released at this time. So that brings the total up to 35 figures. We can assume wave 5 will at least have 4 more figures in it, which would bring the total to 39. NECA also recently teased a big priced item was coming to Target around the holidays that would cost in the neighborhood of $100, so that may include the 40th figure. Check out more images below for all the figures shown here, and we will update you as more stuff is revealed in the coming days.

  16. Target Exclusive NECA Toys Bebop & Rocksteady.
  17. NECA is re-releasing their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Animated Series Shredder and Krang figures from wave 1 in a new two-pack which is available at Target now. Back when NECA first announced this set was coming, they also indicated more Rocksteady and Bebop figures would be shipping to Targets around the same time. No word if that has happened, but it is not currently available for purchase on the website.
  18. One of the things Hasbro talked about during the Power Rangers portion of their 2020 New York Toy Fair presentation, was the TMNT and Power Rangers crossover comic book series being done between Boom Studio and IDW. During the panel they showed images of what the four Turtles along with April will look like when they get their hands on a Morpher. They also showed the Rangers themselves and what they would look like without a Morpher. While there was no mention of toys based on this series to follow, we could see it maybe happening. While Playmates Toys remains the master toy license holder for TMNT, we have seen Nickelodeon allow other companies do TMNT figures in recent years. NECA has been doing a wide range of Turtle figures base on the old movies, video game and the original animated series. Then there were the recent Batman vs TMNT figures DC Collectibles did. Hasbro is likely considered a more direct competitor to Playmates Toys than those other smaller companies, so negotiating a deal to do a Power Rangers/TMNT crossover line might be a little more tricky to negotiate between all parties concerned, but you never know. Would you like to see someone release TMNT and Power Rangers mash-up figures? Let us know below in the COMMENTS SECTION below.
