I don't think this is the case here. The artwork on the front does not represent the figure, just the character. The 3D renders on the back of the packages tend to have a lot more paint detail than the figures anyway, so this is nothing new.

First off, NECA doesn’t care about me lol. Second, California gets everything first. My buddy grabbed it for me this morning. I wish I was at the level that toy companies would send me stuff.
