  1. So it all started when I purchased some of the Wave 1/12 scale model kits... by the time I figured it out I had so many to build an arcade for my action figures. These are the photos por its 3rd phase. I am currently working on Phase 4, hope to finish it someday... Enjoy! Find the rest of the project over here.
  2. Who better to utilize Kaiyodo's super-posable Revoltech body than Woody, the cheerful cowboy from the "Toy Story" franchise? The Revoltech version of the hero from Disney/Pixar's hit movies features a film-accurate design; he's about 15cm tall (5.9"), and is extensively jointed for all kinds of fun--he can even bend back and forth at the waist! The jointing on this figure is so amazing, even his eyeballs are posable! And just like in the movie, Andy's name is written on the underside of Woody's boot. The figure includes: - Alternate face - 4 Hands - Buzz Lightyear hand - Hat - Microphone - Lenny the Binoculars - Tool to help change the position of his eyes You can pre-order this figure now at BigBadToyStore.com.
  3. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the latest Amazing Yamaguchi Revoltech figure, the Arkham Knight from the excellent Batman: Arkham Knight video game. The Arkham Knight was a bit of a controversial character back then, as fans were speculating about the identity of one of the main villains way before the game came out, and Rocksteady, the game's developers, kept saying it was not going to be the obvious, and would be a completely new character, and... well, that was a lie. Here are some packaging pics. The figure comes with a ton of accessories, most of which can be used to switch him from the "Arkham Knight" outfit to the "Red Hood" outfit from later in the game. He comes with a different headsculpt, 2 different chest plates, different shoulder pads, different upper arm parts, different lower arm decos, different knee pads along with 6 extra hands, 2 red swords and 2 "kris" blades (the wavy blades, had to google that). Obviously, no guns, which is kind of a bummer since the character heavily relies on guns, sniper rifles and all kinds of firearms in the game. The articulations are your usual Revoltech / Amazing Yamaguchi articulations, which means articulations on top of articulations, and the figure can sometime feel a bit intimidating. If you know what you're doing (I don't!), you can have him in some really awesome dynamic poses. The design does get a bit anime-like, which is pretty usual with Katsuhisa Yamaguchi's designs. If you have him with arms wide open, the shoulder articulation can be quite ugly, though... So no "Put your hands up" pose for the Arkham Knight... Life hack! The guns from the DC Collectibles Arkham Knight or Red Hood figures does fit perfectly with him. Any 1:12 gun will do the trick, to be fair, but the Arkham Knight ones do have a cool design, with a bat logo on them. If you're watching Peacemaker, you know how important it is to have your logo on the gun! "No dove of peace on the gun?!" The transition from Arkham Knight form to Red Hood form is pretty easy, even if there are some of the parts to change (the shoulder parts, the knee pads...) that have a tiny peg that I'm afraid might break if you change him too often. Then again, they might not. You just have to be careful. The 2 chest plates are really nice and allow for some diversity in the figure (and makes you want to buy 3 so that you can display it with all the suits. DARN!). More news at 11:00... "You're finished, Batman, and Gotham is finished too."

  10. From national headlines to your action figure shelf comes this new Revoltech RevoGeo figure from Kaiyodo of the menacing Vespa Mandarinia (Asian Giant Hornet). Every part is articulated, from the antennae to the stinger. Articulated mandibles and mouth parts have been faithfully recreated. The large compound eyes are made of transparent material to enhance the vibrant coloration. The abdomen is also posable, and the body can be bent forward into an aggressive pose. The wasp's greatest weapon, its venomous stinger, can be retracted without replacing any parts. Wings are folded in its default pose, but can be replaced to recreate in-flight poses. Legs come equipped with joints for recreating various poses. Leg joints can be replaced with a fixed joint for better displayability. Includes a Display base, allowing you to choose between two types of GEO arms to securely display in both default and in-flight poses. The figure is just over 7" in length. You can pre-order it now from our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com. If you decide to get one, just don't let someone mistake it for the real thing.

  13. Two images showcasing the new Revoltech Jessie - review available on the site as well! First off, the “When she loved me..” expression... and here she is with the rest of her Revoltech gang!
  14. The newly re-released Legacy of Revoltech Jessie figure! Quick thoughts : Beautifully sculpted and painted, this for me is the best of the three Toy Story Revoltech figures Contents : Jessie figure X 3 face sculpts X 9 hand options X 1 Red cowgirl hat X 1 rope X 1 name plate Figure base and stand Articulation : Unsurprisingly, the figure boasts excellent articulation. Head rotation side to side and front to back 360degree Moveable eyes Ponytail rotation at the top of the ponytail and at the bottom 360degree waist rotation 360degree upper leg rotation Knee articulation Ankle articulation and rotation 360degree shoulder rotation Elbow articulation Wrist articulation Sculpt : Excellent character likeness. Well proportioned body shape with excellent details. The outfit is well designed with raised buttons, seams and arm and leg flares. There is a raised drawstring hoop on her back. The hair design is superb, with small details capturing the rope-like style of her hair Paint : Vibrant colours, well applied throughout the figures. No paint issues with my figure at all. Final thoughts : I found the Revoltech Buzz Lightyear somewhat disappointing, his limb proportions were off with some questionable sculpting. Jessie has raised the bar however. With faultless character likeness, excellent articulation and painting. My only issue is a lack of accessories but what she does come with is well executed. I would say she is the best of the three Toy Story Revoltech figures SCORE: 9/10
  15. A look at the newly released, Legacy of Revoltech Buzz Lightyear. Check out the Toy Photography section for some more advanced shots. Initial thoughts - He’’s a good figure but just isn’t quite the same quality as others in Revoltech’s Disney line. I’ll get into that in more detail below. ARTICULATION - As you would expect from a Revoltech Figure. Highly articulate, shoulder joints, elbow joints, wrist rotation and wrist joints, finger and thumb joints, hip joints, upper thigh rotation, knee joints, ankle joints, waist joint, neck rotation and neck joint, canopy opens and closes also. He also features movable eyes. PAINT APPLICATION - I mention this specifically due to a couple QC issues with mine where the paint had either been slightly misapplied or slightly chipped particularly on the green chest panel. However, the colours are vibrant and true to the original design. They capture the light beautifully as well. ACCESSORIES - These are good but again compared to others in the line there are not as many as you would expect. There are two head sculpts as you will see. A smiling Buzz and a more intense smirk. Both feature the trademark eye movement but due to a design flaw wherein the inner part of the head sculpt is too narrow, meaning the eye joint cannot fit inside the head if moved too far in one direction! However you can still definitely change the direction of sight which adds great variation particularly for photography and is a reason I really enjoy these figures. The little details really bring them to life. There are attachable wings which are well detailed and a small closed wing panel to replace them when not in use. There are also three green army men, a Buzz Lightyear name plate and a clear plastic display stand. A removal arm is also included as a feature to replicate the classic scene from Toy Story but the way it is executed just looks like a joint you could remove anyway... OVERALL - He is a good figure, not great. And I think compared to the high quality Revoltech have produced with Woody, Judy Hopps and Winnie the Pooh, I just expected a bit more. He is not a terrible expensive figure though and the articulation and details do allow for terrific variety of posing and photography and all in all, he is a fine addition to the Revoltech Disney line. Just sadly not quite up there with the best. FINAL SCORE - 6/10
  16. A shot of the new Legacy of Revoltech Buzz Lightyear. I have included a few ‘behind the scenes’ shots of explain the laser effect. In short, I used atmosphere aerosol spray to capture the laser from a laser measuring device. More shots to come this week and please check out my review as well!
  17. *SPOILER FREE* Felt obliged to share some Toy Story photos after watching Toy Story 4. An absolutely superb film and I’d thoroughly recommend you go and see it if you haven’t already!
  18. The Revoltech Disney figures have to be some of the best around at the moment They are a mix of terrific articulation with a huge variety of interchangeable faces and accessories allowing for multiple scenes to be recreated. Here are the Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde figures from Zootropolis/Zootopia.
