  8. Every day you turn around there seems to be a new Hasbro Star Wars rumor popping up, and honestly it's pretty hard to keep up with them all. Here are a few I have done some digging into, and been able to confirm from a couple different trusted sources they are legit. While I feel pretty confident these are coming, we will treat these as rumors until Hasbro officially confirms them, which will likely be this weekend during Toy Fair. This first one really seems like an odd choice, but it looks like Hasbro is going to be releasing a 6" Black Series Snowspeeder vehicle for $100+. I know it's the 40th Anniversary of the Empire Strikes Back, but if they were going to do another large scale vehicle, I would have thought they would finally give us the X-Wing we were supposed to get several years ago. To me a Snowspeeder seems kind of pointless unless we had a 6" AT-AT to go with it. Who knows maybe that will be Hasbro's next big Haslab announcement???? Other Black Series rumors we are pretty confident about getting a second wave of Empire Strikes Back Vintage Carded figures that will include Luke Skywalker (Hoth), Lando (Bespin), Hoth Rebel Soldier, R2-D2, and TIE Pilot. Also look for carbonized versions of an Imperial Stormtrooper and Boba Fett which should be available at most online retailers that carry Black Series. For you Vintage Collection fans it looks like we will be getting another $150+ Slave-1 coming. This may just be a re-release or modified version of the one we got back in 2013 as a Amazon exclusive. Again, until Hasbro officially confirms these, treat these all as rumor.
  9. Up for pre-order now at our sponsor BigBadToyStore is a restock of Hasbro's new 3.75" Vintage Collection Boba Fett figure based on his appearance from Empire Strikes Back. The figure includes a blaster, rifle and jetpack.

  15. Just over a year after it was first announced during the 2018 Toy Fair, the Haslab Jabba's Sail Barge should arrive at their destinations over the coming weeks. Lucasfilm’s senior manager of product development, Chris Dern, takes a look at the work that has gone into the finished product. "Weighing in just shy of 14 pounds, and measuring at 49.35 inches long, 14.64 inches wide, and just over 17 inches from the base to the tips of the sails", the barge is made up of 250 individual parts, pieced together by both machine and by hand. To recreate the 'used universe' look, "the paint deco was painstakingly applied in layers, a mix of molding, airbrushing, and handpainting that makes each individual barge unique. “You can see the brush strokes,” Dern says, " From the cockpit, to the prison cell, galley, and audience chamber, they tried to create a mix of authenticity and added play value. “The designers went into this really thinking of functionality and playability,” Dern says. “Our goal in our role here is, how accurate can we get? Whether it is scouring for an old set of blueprints, utilizing archived models, published materials, and/or entertainment footage, all of which helps guide us in our decision making and ultimately to the final result.” "The ship is delivered with a 3.75-inch scale Jabba the Hutt, with detailed paint deco to match the grandeur of the Khetanna, and a special Vintage Collection Yakface figure. A carded version of the figure will be available for the mass-market release." A lot of work went into the box art, as well, a 120 hour photoshoot which required 14 Hasbro employees, 900 pounds of sand, and one custom, posable Sarlacc. For even more added play value, Hasbro recently revealed a new Desert Skiffvehicle, as well as, a Vintage Collection Lando Calrissian (Skiff Guard) figureand Skiff Guard 3 Pack, which should be available later this year.
