  1. NECA today in wishing actor Kurt Russell a happy birthday has shown off their upcoming 7" R.J. MacReady Ultimate figure from the classic John Carpenter sci-fi horror The Thing movie. they say the figure will be out this summer. Check out the image below.
  2. The 1982 John Carpenter horror movie "The Thing", which starred Kurt Russell is apparently looking to get a reboot from Universal and Blumhouse. For those not familiar, The 1982 classic was actually based on the original 1951 movie called "The Thing from Another World". That movie was based on a 1938 novella by John W. Campbell Jr. titled "Who Goes There?". As the story goes via Bloody-Disgusting.com, an original extended version of that 1938 novella was recently discovered which is said to expand drastically on the original Thing story. Author John Betancourt who took to Kickstarter to fund a new novel based on this extended story back in 2018 recently had this news from Executive Producer Alan Donnes to share with his fans: With a new movie in the works, you can bet that likely means new action figures and statues will soon follow.
