  1. Stephen Amell released the official 'Elseworlds' promotional poster via Twitter for The CW’s three-night superhero crossover event. Things are looking a bit confused on Arrow and The Flash in the newest image released from the upcoming “Elseworlds” crossover. The image showed the pair in their Green Arrow and Flash costumes, which isn’t all that unusual. We'll leave it up to you to notice the difference... The crossover will start with The Flash on Sunday, December 9th, followed by the storyline continuing on Arrow on Monday, December 10th, before the conclusion on Supergirl on Tuesday, December 11th. No appearances by DC’s Legends of Tomorrow or Black Lightning but we'll see the introduction of Ruby Rose as Batwoman. In addition, Tyler Hoechlin will be returning as Superman and Lois Lane will be making her first time appearance, played by Elizabeth Tulloch.
  2. Warner Bros' DCU Chaos Continues - Flash Delayed, Ben Affleck & Henry Cavill Out Entertainment by Jay Cochran - [edit post] October 16, 2018 Variety is reporting the the Flash stand-alone movie which is slated to star Ezra Miller from the Justice League movie will be delayed till some time in 2021. While the movie has never received an official release date, it was expected to start shooting next March and be released some time in 2020. According to the report, the script for the Flash movie is still being tweaked and that Miller himself will soon begin working on the third installment of the Fantastic Beasts trilogy where he has a sizeable supporting role, hence causing him to have a scheduling conflict. Warner Bros' DC Cinematic Universe has been struggling with chaos ever since their Justice League movie failed to perform well at the box office. Variety in this very report seems to confirm rumors that both Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill are officially out as Batman and Superman. Up until now the only modern DC movie to do well at the box office has ben Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman which is already getting a sequel later this year. After that in December Aquaman who is portrayed by Justice League alum Jason Momoa is next up for the stand-alone film treatment, but it is unknown how well it will perform. It's got its work cut out for it if you ask me. If Aquaman has another lack-luster performance at the box-office for Warner Bros, one has to wonder if they will be willing to role the dice at all on Flash or if they will just try and start over completely from scratch. We already have seen them starting to move forward with a Joker stand-alone movie that will star Joaquin Phoenix and seemingly has no connection with the Jared Leto version recently seen in Suicide Squad. Suicide Squad itself may be heading for a major re-haul as it was another movie that was not received well by most DC fans. Recent reports have suggested that Warner Bros is looking to bring in former Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn to write the script and possibly direct the next film. Gunn himself was recently fired by Disney for old tweets dug up online dealing with rape and pedophilia. While many fans have been willing to continue to support the somewhat disgraced director, the move to bring him in on another comic book based project has been viewed by some as nothing more than a publicity stunt on the part of Warner Bros. The future of the DCCU is unclear but everything Warner Bros. does seems to scream to me at least that they really have no clear cut vision for the property, and are just being reactive instead of proactive with it. To me that doesn't bode well for a comic book based universe that will ever be able to dethrone Marvel and Disney as king of the big screen super heroes.
  3. As Barry (Grant Gustin) helps his daughter, Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy), become a better speedster, he and Team Flash also track down a meta stealing high-tech weapons, only to cross paths with a new foe named Cicada (Chris Klein), who is hunting the very same meta with nefarious intent. Look for the crossover event on the CW Network with Arrow, Flash and Supergirl to begin on December 9, 2018.
  5. A new promotional poster for The CW’s three-night Arrowverse superhero crossover event was released on Arrow's Twitter account and now has a title of 'Elseworlds.' The crossover will start with The Flash on Sunday, December 9th, followed by the storyline continuing on Arrow on Monday, December 10th, before the conclusion on Supergirl on Tuesday, December 11th.

Dr. Snow is an extremely intelligent geneticist who has been MIA for decades. Upon returning to Central City, he will try his best to make up for lost time with Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker). But what Caitlin doesn’t know is that Thomas is hiding a big secret. In season 5, Caitlin will first turn to her mother, Dr. Carla Tannhauser (Susan Walters, who guest-starred in season 3), for some insight into her current predicament. “[Carla] is the one she goes to first for answers,” executive producer Todd Helbing tells sources. “You’re going to learn about what role her mother played in all of this, and there is that mysterious premonition that Cecile had at the end of last year about Thomas. So you’re going to learn about exactly who he is and how he plays into the season and Caitlin and Killer Frost, and really just that whole mystery about where she comes from and how she was created is explained.”

Spin will be introduced in episode #504. Source: Deadline
  11. After outthinking The Thinker, you’d hope that Barry Allen aka The Flash (Grant Gustin) might have some down time to contemplate his future with his new wife, Iris (Candice Patton). But with their speedster daughter from the future, Nora (new series regular Jessica Parker Kennedy), already grown and a part of their lives, they’ve now got to face Central City’s newest menace — the DC Super-Villain Cicada! Season five pits Team Flash against yet another formidable adversary, the show’s second non-speedster Big Bad, it was revealed by cast and producers at the show’s 2018 Comic-Con panel on Saturday, July 21. Chris Klein (Election, Oz, American Pie) has signed on to play next season’s scourge of Central City, Cicada. A grizzled, blue-collar everyman whose family has been torn apart by metahumans, Cicada now seeks to exterminate the epidemic — one metahuman at a time. The Flash returns for season five on Tuesday, October 9, at 8/7c on The CW. Based on the DC characters, the series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Todd Helbing, Sarah Schechter and Eric Wallace.
