  1. Warner Bros is negotiating with Colin Farrell and Andy Serkis for roles in the Matt Reeves-directed The Batman. Farrell is up for the role of The Penguin and Serkis would play Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred Pennyworth. If both deals close, they will add to the cast of Robert Pattinson as Batman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Paul Dano as The Riddler and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman. Source: Deadline
  2. Not even a day after it was announced that Jonah Hill turned down a role for 'The Batman.' Matt Reeves has stepped up and announced with a tweet that Paul Dano will now play The Riddler in the new movie. Reeves tweet includes the hashtag of #EdwardNashton and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Dano's version of the character will be named Edward Nashton, the man who in the comics later goes by the name Edward Nygma and adopts the villainous persona. 'The Batman' is being directed by Matt Reeves, who co-wrote the script with Mattson Tomlin and co-produced with Dylan Clark. Starring in the title role is Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon. Feature credits for Dano include Love and Mercy, Prisoners, 12 Years a Slave, There Will Be Blood, Youth and Okja. Production begins in January in London with a theater release on June 25th, 2021.
  3. Sources from within are reporting that Jonah Hill and Westworld star Jeffrey Wright are in in negotiations for Matt Reeves' The Batman. Robert Pattinson is headlining as the Dark Knight with Wright is looking to play Commissioner Gordon. Sources are stating that Hill is being looked over for a villain role but the deal hasn’t closed and sources say it could still fall apart, but both sides are engaging on Hill joining. Pre-production on the Warner Bros.-DC Comics movie is expected to start this summer. No official production start date has been set. Reeves took over the directing duties from Ben Affleck in January 2017 and has been developing the project ever since. He is credited for helming the last two “Planet of the Apes” sequels.   4. Warner Bros. has selected Zoe Kravitz to play Selina Kyle aka Catwoman in the new The Batman movie with Robert Pattinson who has the title role. Jeffrey Wright who is playing Commissioner Gordon and Jonah Hill who is in talks for a villain role are also part of the cast. Directed by Matt Reeves from a script that Reeves and Mattson Tomlin co-wrote. Dylan Clark and Reeves are producing with Michael E. Uslan as executive producer. Production begins in January in London, UK. with a theather release on June 25th, 2021. Kravitz feature credits include Mad Max Fury Road, the Fantastic Beasts franchise, the Divergent franchise, X-Men: First Class, and the The Lego Batman Movie in which she played Catwoman.   5. Warner Bros. is taking the next Batman movie in a new direction which will not be including Ben Affleck. The next Batman movie has been set for June 25th, 2021 and will be focusing on a younger Bruce Wayne. A search is underway for a new Dark Knight. Affleck confirmed the original report by Deadline via Twitter with the message: Excited for #TheBatman in Summer 2021 and to see @MattReevesLA vision come to life. Matt Reeves has been attached to the project as both a writer and director in February 2017, taking over for Affleck who was originally set to direct off a script he wrote with DC’s Geoff Johns. Sources have confirmed that the new Batman movie will not be based on Frank Miller’s Batman: Year One comic which is one of Reeves’ favorites in the Caped Crusader canon.
