It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Universal Monsters x TMNT action figure of Splinter, dressed as Van Helsing, from NECA. Continuing on the NECA backlog during the Haulathon month, this is the latest entry in the Universal Monsters and TMNT mashup line, which has been one of my favorite lines lately. Splinter does not disappoint either (even if most would have preferred something else than Van Helsing)! As usual with the figures from this line, it comes in a gorgeous art box with a beautiful painting on the front and picture of the figure on the back. Splinter/Van Helsing (Van Splinter?) comes with an extra head (same sculpt but without hat), 4 extra hands, a knife, 3 wooden stakes, a crossbow, 3 normal arrows for the crossbow, one arrow with garlic on it, one arrow with a hook on it and a stand. The knife and the wooden stakes can be stored on the figure on his belt, and the arrows fit in the quiver on his back. It's a pretty fun take on Splinter, which is basically the same figure as the movie Splinter with a leather jacket, glasses and a hat. The articulation is the same as the movie Splinter too, meaning not great, but at least the arms can move well, the tail is bendy and the head can move a bit. The legs have articulations on the knees, ankles and toes (or whatever the rat equivalent of those bones are called), but he might not be able to stand if moved too much. The accessories are fun, the crossbow is quite fragile (nearly broke it when extracting it from the plastic bubble), and it's nice to have a toy that can hold all his accessories (minus extra head and hands). More news at 11:00... So... Is Shredder going to be Dracula, then?

For what I believe is NECA's final reveal of the day, they released this teaser images for what appears to be a figure set based on the Spinter's origin story in the 90's TMNT movie. The figures are of Splinters master Hamato Yoshi, Oroku Saki (Shredder before he was Shredder) and a rat in a cage named Spliter before he was transformed. You can see a clip from the movie with the scene here: This will likely be a Walmart exclusive but no other details are available at this time.
