  1. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Professor Perry two-pack from TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze by NECA, which is exclusive to the NECA Store. NECA had revealed the figures in conventions last summer, but we didn't know how this was going to come out: Single releases? Two-packs with other figures (like foot soldiers or something)? Well, no. NECA bundled both versions of Professor Jordan Perry together, which in the end is a pretty smart move: You get both versions in one go, no need to hunt for 2 figures. Professor Jordan Perry, as portrayed by the late David Warner, is a scientist who is in charge of Techno Global Research Industries (T.G.R.I.), whose purpose is to dispose of the ooze. He is then captured by the Foot Clan and forced to create monsters for Shredder. After helping create Tokka and Rahzar, he is rescued by the turtles and help them create an antidote for the monsters. (This is a quick summary for a movie I haven't seen in years, apologies if inaccurate!). The two-pack includes 2 versions of Professor Perry, in his lab coat and in his hazmat suit (which is seen in a single scene in the movie). He comes with extra hands, a ton of lab equipment, a hard hat and notepad for the hazmat suit version, 2 cannisters of Ooze, and glasses for both figures. Yes, the glasses are removable, which is a nightmare. I have never liked figures that have removable glasses because they fall off ALL THE TIME. The glasses managed to stay put on one of the figures, but keep falling on the lab coat version. I might just glue them. The likeness is very good. I would add 'surprisingly' but NECA has always done a good job, but it seems they put some extra care into those ones. This is a fun two-pack for the completists, and an easy pass for others. I said in a previous TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze figures review that as long as NECA makes figures from the TMNT movies, I'll get them, deep cuts and all, and I kept my word. More news at 11:00... "Oh no! This not good! Their burping is ##$%$#ing the anti-mutagenic process!"
  2. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Foot Training Keno and Foot Soldier two-pack from TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze by NECA. After the SDCC Exclusive Keno set that came out last year, collectors kept saying not to buy it, because there would 'most certainly, 100% sure' be a normal release of it. Well, here it is! The scooter only turned into a thicc Foot Soldier... Foot Training Keno and Foot Soldier is fun two-pack, one of those that is not indispensable, yet you have to get it if you're a completist (like the upcoming Professor Perry two-pack... Can't wait!). The two-pack comes with the 2 figures, an extra head sculpt and an extra pair of hands for Keno, 2 extra pairs of hands for the Foot Soldier, the little bells from Keno's final test (had to google that one!), an ooze canister and a very nice punching bag accessory. The Keno in foot training gear figures is another really cool figure of Ernie Reyes Jr. The 2 heads that come with this one are different from the ones from the Scooter set, which means we now have 4 heads for Keno. Great details and paint. The punching bag is a nice accessory that can be used for tons of other toy photography. Mine has the 'Teezus' logo printed a bit off on it, but I will survive. The Foot Soldier is the THICC one from the beginning of the movie (if I remember correctly). It's nice to have a slightly different Foot Soldier, so they don't all look the same. This one is a bit taller and has a belly. I guess he didn't train as hard as the other ones... Maybe it's the computer guy, that sits behind a desk a lot? Same articulations as the ones from the previous movies. It's pretty simple, as long as NECA will release figures from the TMNT movies, I will buy them, deep cuts and all. More news at 11:00... Keno, wasn't it? You seem to be the only one worthy of a final test...
  3. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the TMNT: The Secret of the Ooze SDCC Exclusive Keno with Scooter set from NECA! Sure, SDCC was a while ago, and we're now closer to NYCC, but Keno had been sitting in my backlog and I totally forgot to take pictures... So a couple of months late, here is Keno with his scooter! The set comes in a gigantic pizza box, filled with a bunch of items that will probably end up in a drawer, à la Loot Crate: the Keno w/Scooter action figure set, a Roy's Greenwich Village keychain, a Roy's Greenwich Village t-shirt, a Roy's Greenwich Village magnet and an employee of the month card of Keno from March 1991. The set was $100 which is a bit much, even if it's fun when you open it the first time, before throwing most of the content in a drawer and forget about it forever (like a lot of Loot Crate items, basically). Keno comes with an extra head, 2 extra pairs of hands, a scooter (duh) along with the pizza box, the part to attach the pizza box to the scooter and a delivery bag, which even contains a mini cardboard pizza box. The only thing missing would have been tiny pizza slices, like the ones that came with the turtles, inside the box to complete it, but I'm nitpicking here. The Keno figure had been long-awaited, with actor Ernie Reyes Jr teasing it for some time and it's finally here! The likeness is pretty great on both head sculpts and it's a fun figure. He has the same outfit as in the first part of the movie, before infiltrating the Foot. The scooter is a pretty cool accessory to have too. This thing can be used in so many other toy photography! Deadpool riding a scooter, Batman riding a scooter... the possibilities are endless! NECA has since revealed another Keno figure, in Foot training gear, that will come in a two-pack with a Foot soldier. More news at 11:00... "Dream on, Dweeb!"
  4. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week we're having a look at the TMNT: The Secret of the Ooze VHS 4-pack and Accessory set by NECA, which took its sweet time getting to people outside of the US. NECA is having their Haulathon event this month, and I have a lot of NECA backlog (aka figures to open), so I guess I'll be reviewing NECA products for the next few weeks. The TMNT: The Secret of the Ooze 4-Pack and Accessory set were available exclusively on the NECA website for a limited time (2 weeks) at the end of March 2022, and have started to arrive over the last couple of months. What makes this TMNT: The Secret of the Ooze 4-pack special compared to the 2-packs that can be found in stores is the packaging, which, just like the comic con exclusive packaging of the turtles from the first movie, looks like a giant VHS box. The box has a big sleeve so you can see what's inside. The design of the box is pretty great, with quotes from the Fwoosh or ToyShiz in the back. Even though there is a separate Accessory set, those figures come packed with accessories too, like their weapons (obviously), as well as 8 extra hands, a fire extinguisher, 2 ooze canisters (full and empty), pizza slices (half eaten ones too!), a pizza box, a foam bat and cold cuts nunchucks! The figures themselves are a nice improvement on the ones from the first movie. For a long time, I thought those were the best turtle movie figures EVER, and after seeing those new ones and comparing them side by side, it looks like the more recent one have better proportions, skin tones, etc...than the first movie figures. They match the suits from the second movie, of course, which were also improved from the first one (lighter, allowing more movements for the stunts), but as figures, they really look great. The TMNT: The Secret of the Ooze accessory set is another home run from NECA, with a variety of accessories that are pretty versatile and can be used for displays or toy photography with other figures than the turtles as well. It includes 5 new head sculpts (1 for each + gagged Raphael), a key tar, a suitcase, a hat, a bowl of pop corn, 2 bags of chips, 2 aprons, a double sided broom, a broken ooze canister, a pizza with pizza slices in it, a computer and keyboard (very 90s), a newspaper, a phone from a phone booth, 2 cups of soda, a chocolate bar, 2 brushes and my favorite: the pre-mutation versions of Tokka and Rahzar! More news at 11:00... GO NINJA, GO NINJA GO!
