  1. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the SDCC Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Samurai turtle 4-pack from NECA. Finally, the 4-pack we always dreamed of! The movie might have been terrible, but the toys are great! Ninja turtles dressed as Samurai, what more could you ask for? (apart from slightly better articulation...). The giant VHS box made its return for the third time, just like the first 2 SDCC movie 4-packs. It also comes with a big sleeve so you can see what's inside. The picture in the front is like the original VHS, but with figures. Shout out to YHS Podcast for getting their quote immortalized on the box! The Samurai turtles come packed with accessories: 4 extra head sculpts (one each, which work with previous figures too), a ton of extra hands, 4 wired soft goods robes, the turtles' weapons (katanas, sais, bo staff and nunchucks), 2 old swords, 4 masks, 3 scepters (ancient, damaged and homemade). The samurai helmets attach to the bandana knots in the back of their heads, which is great to have them stay put. The masks look great, as do the soft goods robes. The details on the figures are amazing. It's a fantastic set to display on your shelf. Comparison pics with the previous movie turtles. More news at 11:00... Cue *Tarzan Boy* from Baltimora... Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh!
  2. "I'm happy they arrived so fast!", "Wow, these look so good!" - Those could have been the words from collectors popping up all over various NECA or TMNT facebook groups in the last few days. However, the unthinkable happened: Some orders were shipped in multiple packages (*audible gasp from the crowd*). Uncertainty! Panic! Betrayal! These are some of the emotions that took over collectors, as they posted their complaints all over social media. More than one package? Can you imagine?! "I was pretty stoked to get my package this early, since nobody posted pictures yet, so I could be one of the first to post pics and get all the likes!" said a collector from Connecticut. "But when I saw the size, I knew something was off. It couldn't possibly fit a pizza box!" After opening the package, the collector found out that something was indeed off: "Keno was missing from the package, so I did what any sane person would do - I went on social media and complained: Classic NECA BS! Of course they forgot something! I HAAAATE!". The post got a lot of comments and reactions, and soon, more would have the same issue. "I ordered 3 things and got only 2." said a collector from New York. "So I wrote a very angry post online, before even opening the figures I actually got. Later that day, I received the second package, but I decided to leave my post online, because a lot of people commented and reacted to it, it's kinda my best post now..." It was later revealed (and confirmed by NECA) that due to the size of the TMNT Secret of the Ooze Keno with scooter bundle, some orders were shipped in multiple packages, and we would just have to be patient. BONUS: A collector name Timothy M. (from the TMNT Party Wagon Facebook group) received his TMNT III 4-pack, which included 2 Capri Suns in the package! You hear that? Free juice! ToyFarce has since heard of many other collectors getting extra snacks in their packages, including one that got a full rotisserie chicken with it (picture included). ToyFarce is now crossing fingers for a full 7-course meal from NECA when the multiple packages of the 2-items SDCC order will arrive. More news at 11:00... 2 packages? The audacity! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  3. Well, The 2023 edition of San Diego Comic Con is now over, and it kinda left us with a huge hole in our wallets, but also in our souls, didn't it? So many good toys, fun reveals, great panels... Whether you were there in person, or just following it via Youtube and social media, this year really did feel special. But how to go back to normal everyday life after this? Here is how you can deal with the 'Post Comic Con Blues'. MEDITATION: I know, I know. Some of you don't really do that kind of things. But picture this: Sit down and close your eyes, and visualize yourself walking through the aisles of the Comic Con. Stop at your favorite booth and just browse the shelves in your mind. Think of it as a 'go to your happy place' kind of thing, but with the NECA, Hasbro, Mondo, or any other of the SDCC booths as your happy place! YOUTUBE: There is a ton of great content that came out of SDCC in the last 4 days. Go to your favorite Youtuber (or Toytuber)'s channel, sit back and enjoy looking at things again, through a different person's eyes. Also, why not try some other channels suggestions on the side? You might find some nice new channel, or see stuff that you didn't see in other videos. How about those The Last Ronin ghosts hidden in NECA's Street Diorama at their booth? Or the teases during the Marvel Legends panel? BUY TOYS: And of course, last but not least: Buy toys! Only a small amount of the things that were revealed during SDCC is already available for pre-order, but it could be smart to make a list of all the things that were revealed that you would like to buy, just to keep track of them and be ready for when they actually drop. You can also come back to that list next year, to see what actually came out and what has been discreetly cancelled... (tons of Hot Toys or Mezco products suffered that fate, sadly). And of course, there's always the next one! Power Con in August, NY ToyFair in late September, New York Comic Con in October... And that's not counting the small local toy conventions! By the time you'll have recovered from this one, there will always be another. This year's San Diego Comic Con did not have any actors or celebrities appearances due to the ongoing Screen Actor's Guild strike, so the focus was on all the other things, which ended up being... pretty great actually! A SDCC without big studio presence turned out to be nice. Who would have thought? For a lot of us, it felt like the focus was actually on toys, since there was SO. MUCH. TOYS. It felt like more like a Toy Fair than a San Diego Comic Con. Anyone else feeling the same? What other tips would you have to deal with the Post Comic Con blues? Let us know in the comments! 4. Since probably no one is going to read this article due to the focus being on San Diego Comic Con and all its amazing reveals, panels and booths (so many booths!), ToyFarce will report some local news from the area today. Earlier yesterday, Andy, a toy collector had the chance to meet his favorite toy youtuber (or toytuber, who will remain anonymous), but sadly, it didn't go as planned... "I've been one of his followers for years. I always put a like on his videos, leave a comment, and I am always in the chat when he is streaming live. He said my name (well, username...) multiple times when he said hello to the chat, and I used to think that it was kind of a big deal. Like if we were close, he knows my name, he sees me commenting and chatting,etc... I know so much about his life, what toys he collects and likes, ... So when I heard he was going to be at the San Diego Comic Con, I was excited, because I was going too!" What happened that day at the Comic Con was not what Andy had hoped for. "I saw that he was posting pictures of one of the booths, so I headed there, hoping to catch up with him as he would be done. When I arrived, he was chatting with the people from the booths, so I didn't want to bother him. I waved at him quickly when he looked my way, but he just looked confused for a second, like if he didn't know who I was. I have never felt so embarrassed in my life. A bit later, I managed to chat with him. I said that I'm Andy, and I'm usually in the chat, and always comment and like his videos, and he just said "thanks" and that he appreciated it, but then he wanted to go to another booth to take pictures. I had already seen that other booth so I didn't follow him. How rude, right?" We sincerely hope that it didn't ruin the Youtuber's image for Andy and that he will find it in himself to forgive and forget, and still watch his videos. Andy said he would at least watch the next few shows just to see if he mentions him. We asked Andy if he shared his username with the Youtuber, which might have helped a bit more, but he didn't reply. More news at 11:00... They say 'Never meet your heroes', but they say nothing about Toy Youtubers! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  5. The Max Original Animation panel hosted at San Diego Comic-Con included an exclusive first look at Harley Quinn with supervising producers Cecilia Aranovich Hamilton and Ian Hamilton debuting the official season four trailer for the series. HARLEY QUINN season four debuts with three episodes THURSDAY, JULY 27 on Max, followed by a new episode weekly through September 14. This biting and uproarious adult animated comedy follows Harley Quinn (voiced by executive producer Kaley Cuoco) as she strikes out on her own following her breakup with The Joker (Alan Tudyk). With help from Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) and a ragtag crew of DC castoffs, Harley attempts to work her way into the Legion of Doom, before an identity crisis sends her on a larger quest to find her true place in Gotham City. With appearances by DC’s most notorious characters and featuring a notable voice cast – including Christopher Meloni, Ron Funches, JB Smoove, Tony Hale, and others – Harley Quinn showcases the titular antiheroine’s killer journey from girlfriend to leading lady. Executive Producers: Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, Kaley Cuoco, Sam Register, Sarah Peters

  7. With several studios cancelling their panels at the San Diego Comic Con due to the Screen Actor's Guild strike, and the appearances of any actors or celebrities in serious doubt, another infamous part of any Comic Cons, the scalpers, or members of the S.C.A.L.P. (who put the 'con' in 'comic con), have decided to also skip the event this year. ToyFarce investigated... "Well, you see, if we can't get actors to sign our toys, so that we can jack up the prices, then what's the point?" said a representant of the SCALP. "Usually, we'd go for the SDCC exclusive items, but they're all going to be available online, so we can just work remotely, get more members ordering them from home. We'd also have several of our members queueing in the lines to get autographs on items, so that we can then sell them with a huge mark up, but this won't happen this year, so that saves us the trip!" Without any movie trailers to show or celebrities to 'meet and greet', it looks like this year's San Diego Comic Con might have to resort to focus on other formats, such as comics... which is something that had been in the name 'Comic Con' all along. Who would have thought? More news at 11:00... More for us, then! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  8. If you are checking out the San Diego Comic-Con this year to pick up exclusives or other materialistic items, be sure to grab yourself some San Diego Comic-Con bags! This year's bags are brought to you from ABC, Disney Branded Television, Disney Television Studios, Disney+, Freeform, FX, and Hulu with fan favorite properties including Hulu’s new sub-brand Hulu Animayhem which features Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, The Great North, and more. You’ll also find bag designs for Abbott Elementary, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and more. Here’s a look at the bags, which can be picked up in the Sails Pavilion when you get your lanyards: Futurama (Hulu Original/20th Television Animation) Solar Opposites (Hulu Original/20th Television Animation) Abbott Elementary (ABC/20th Television/Warner Bros. (FOX/20th Television Animation) Bob’s Burgers (FOX/20th Television Animation) The Simpsons (FOX/20th Television Animation) The Great North (FOX/20th Television Animation)
  9. It's that time of the year again, right before the San Diego Comic Con, when every company announce SDCC Exclusives that seem to all 'must-get' items! For a week or two now, toy collectors worldwide have opened their favorite toy news websites and social media wincing, hoping they won't see a new announcement of an action figure that they will end up desperately wanting. It's a tough life! "I thought I'd be fine eating ramen noodles from Top Ramen until the end of the year, but after the Mondo announcements, it looks like I might have to go with the off brand version going forward." said a collector from Wisconsin. "It would be better if the San Diego Comic Con happened a bit later, so that we have time to save some money..." The timing of it all is really bad too, since there was first about $800 worth of NECA TMNT products that appeared unannounced at Target a few weeks ago, then Target had their Summer Geek Out, then pre-orders from MAFEX, G.I.Joe,... decided to drop all at once, plus the merch from the next TMNT movie, etc... The month of June has been terrible for savings accounts. More news at 11:00... Oh, and they will announce more upcoming toys there as well... *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!

  11. Maybe it's something in the water but according to Deadline, Universal Pictures, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, Sony Pictures, HBO and Netflix will not be attending the San Diego Comic-Con beginning on July 19th. The no-shows are due to the uncertainty of the WGA strike that has failed to reach a deal with the AMPTP, and SAG-AFTRA and are still negotiating with the studios. The studios decided against planning a major presence in case the actors, as well as the writers, are unwilling to attend.
