  6. Production of the current fourth season of Riverdale has been shut down after a member of the cast or crew came into contact with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). The shutdown has occurred during the shooting of episode 20. “We have been made aware that a team member from ‘Riverdale,’ which is produced in Vancouver, was recently in contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19. The team member is currently receiving medical evaluation,” said a Warner Bros. TV spokesperson in a statement to sources. “We are working closely with the appropriate authorities and health agencies in Vancouver to identify and contact all individuals who may have come into direct contact with our team member. The health and safety of our employees, casts and crews is always our top priority. We have and will continue to take precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world.   9. Some disappointing news for Riverdale fans as TVLine is reporting that both Skeet Ulrich and Marisol Nichols are exiting the show following this season. Ulrich plays Jughead’s dad F.P. Jones, and has been a series regular since Season 2 and Nichols has played Veronica’s mother Hermione since Riverdale debuted back in 2017. Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa confirmed the two departures: “Part of life in Riverdale — and part of growing up — is saying goodbye to people. I’m grateful to Skeet and Marisol for their incredible work on the show these last four years, and we all wish them well on their future endeavors. F.P. and Hermione will never be far from our hearts. And, of course, they’re always welcome back in Riverdale.” Ulrich commented in a released statement.: “I’m incredibly grateful for the friendships I’ve made on Riverdale, and I will miss seeing everyone on a daily basis.” “I’m proud to have been part of such a talented group of people, in front of the camera and behind. But I’ve decided that it’s time for me to move on to explore other creative opportunities.” “I had an incredible time bringing Hermione Lodge to life and working with my amazing cast, who became family,” Nichols said in a statement. “We had so many wonderful times together during the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. We really do have the best fans ever. I am looking forward to the next chapter and am excited about the future.” No word yet on how either Hermione or F.P. will be written out of the show.

The CW Network today renewed 13 of its current scripted series for the 2020-2021 season, as well as ordering 13 additional scripts of KATY KEENE, which will make its debut on February 6, 2020, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW Network. "These early orders for next season give our production teams a head start in plotting out story arcs and a jump on hiring staff, and this also provides us with a strong foundation of established, fan-favorite CW shows to build on for next season," said Pedowitz. "We've been thrilled with the creative direction of all three new series, and even though we are in the very early stages of our new full stack streaming strategy, which allows viewers to catch up on our new shows from the beginning, we're already seeing incredibly positive results from our multiplatform viewership for NANCY DREW and BATWOMAN." The current series being ordered for the 2020-2021 season include second seasons of BATWOMAN and NANCY DREW, as well as ALL AMERICAN (Season 3), BLACK LIGHTNING (Season 4), CHARMED (Season 3), DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (Season 6), DYNASTY (Season 4), THE FLASH (Season 7), IN THE DARK (Season 3), LEGACIES (Season 3), RIVERDALE (Season 5), ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO (Season 3), and SUPERGIRL (Season 6).   24. The CW released some images from the fourth season premiere of Riverdale, titled "Chapter Fifty-Eight: In Memoriam." The "stand-alone episode" will offer a memorial to the Fred Andrews character as played by Luke Perry. The actor sadly passed away earlier this year, and his former 90210 co-star Shannen Doherty is expected to be a part of the season premiere. Season 4 of Riverdale premieres on October 9th.

Marcos Siega (You, God Friended Me, Blindspot) directed the pilot, for which he also served as executive producer alongside David Nutter (Game of Thrones, Arrow, The Flash). Batwoman premieres October 6, airing Sundays at 8/7c on The CW. Based on characters from DC, the series is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
