  1. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at something a bit different, the Deepsea Ripper model kit by the brand Number 57. Every now and then, I like to assemble a model kit, and the weirder, the better. The Number 57 Manhunter line is certainly out there. Deepsea Ripper, a shark in a mecha suit. What more could we ask for? The kit is pretty simple to assemble, all you need is a pair of pliers. The pieces lock in together the same way a Bandai Gundam model kit does, so no glue needed. It took me about about 2 hours to assemble it (while watching TV, so it would probably be less if you focus more). You first build the body, then the limbs one by one, and finally the weapons. Deepsea River comes with 3 different painted heads (+ 3 unpainted same ones, in case you want to paint them yourself), a diorama display base, a torpedo gun, a different "back pack" with harpoons in it and a submarine bomb, with a wire to hold it in the air, as if it was floating. The figure is about 3 inches tall when assembled, which is bigger than I thought it would be. The figure has pretty limited articulations (no bicep or thigh swivels, no ab crunch *gasp*), but is still so much fun. You have 3 head options, 2 different set of arms, 2 different back packs, there are many ways to display it. It could also make for a great army builder, if you get 3 or more and display them with different configurations. The hammerhead shark head is great. It can also "transform" into a mini submarine looking vehicle (with a shark head and tail). There is another one of those model kits from Number 57, which is a frog in a mecha suit. I will get that one as well, because they look very fun on a shelf. Should I do a review for the frog as well when I get it? Let me know in the comments! More news at 11:00... We are *SO* gonna need a bigger boat...

  5. Bluefin Brands reveals their 1/12 0-0-0 Character Model kit, from the Doctor Aphra series, that they'll be bringing to Star Wars Celebration - Chicago (April 11-15). "A very special droid, programmed in etiquette, customs, translation and TORTURE!!"
