  1. This week, Mattel Creations will hold their REVEALED virtual event, a "new event that gives you insider access to Mattel's designers and creators. Join for concept-to-reality deep dives on all-new collectibles from your favorite brands"... which sounds like fun! Collectors worldwide are speculating that Mattel might announce their next Mattel Creations crowdfunded item. Here are some items that *might* be announced at the event! WWE ULTIMATE EDITION THE BLOODLINE ISLAND OF RELEVANCY ENTRANCE STAGE Relive the dominance of the Bloodline in WWE with this 20" tall WWE Ultimate Edition The Bloodline Island of Relevancy Entrance Stage! An entrance big enough for the head of the table, the tribal chief, Roman Reigns and his bloodline. Includes a WWE themed car, and members of the Bloodline as various stretch goals. Also, maybe a T-Rex. MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE BATTLE ARENA ENTRANCE TUNNEL He-man and his friends have been teleported to a battle arena, where they will have a tournament against Skeletor's evil warriors! To get to the arena, our heroes have to walk through the battle arena gates, which includes 100 LEDs with 6 pre-programmed animated sequences, controlled by remote! Watch as our heroes walk down the entrance ramp to get to the battle! What would you love to see revealed at Mattel Creations... Revealed? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... Two Days of Never-Before-Seen Content (as opposed to Already-Leaked-Weeks-Ago Content)! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  2. "Costumes, they are so important. Maybe the most important thing there is..." Last night, the 96th Academy Awards ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. During the ceremony, host Jimmy Kimmel had prepared a bit about how it was the 50th anniversary of when a streaker ran across the stage, setting up a punchline which would have seen John Cena himself streaking across the stage. However, John Cena had cold feet (well, he was only wearing sandals after all) and ended up just giving the award in the nude. It didn't take long for Mattel to announced a new John Cena figure for their WWE Elite Hollywood collection! The new WWE Elite Hollywood John Cena as the Academy Awards Streaker will come with an extra set of hands, along with the Costume Design envelope which the Doctor of Thuganomics used to cover up. The figure should be available at the end of the month during the Mattel Creations REVEALED virtual fan event, which will take place on March 21st-22nd. In other news, Oppenheimer won a lot of awards, including 'Best picture, 'Best director', 'Best actor', 'Best supporting actor', 'Best original score', 'Best cinematography' and 'Best editing', while other amazing movies managed to snag the remaining Oscards (Poor Things, American Fiction, Godzilla Minus One and the latest Studio Ghibli film, The Boy and the Heron among others). Oh yeah, and MR FREEZE AND THE PENGUIN CALLED OUT BATMAN! THAT WAS AWESOME! More news at 11:00... We definitely could see him... *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  3. The reason why I became a massive pro wrestling fan, and my childhood hero. The Immortal Hulk Hogan!
  4. Back in 2015 during the San Diego Comic Con Mattel showed off a Mega Blok Castle Grayskull playset which we never saw again, at least not until now. Joining the MegaConstrux line is the Masters of the Universe: Castle Grayskull playset which will include 6 micro action figures: He-Man, Skeletor, Man-at-Arms, Teela, Beast Man, and the exclusive Sorceress. Unfortunately the He-Man and Battle Cat figures that was originally shown with the castle does not appear to be included. The set will feature more than 3,600 pieces to recreate this authentically-detailed and completely faithful castle. Grayskull opens wide to reveal working weapons and launchers, a throne room with surprises, working elevator, and drawbridge that opens and closes. They don't list size measurements so we don't know if the final version is going to be the same size as the one shown back in 2015. The set is now up for pre-order at Gamestop for $249.99. Check out the digital render image from Gamestop as well as our images of the set that was on display during SDCC back in 2015.
  5. Spinmaster last week released a press release stating that they have entered into a 3 year agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) which includes allowing them to make DC Comic based things like remote control and robotic vehicles, water toys and games and puzzles type products. While not 100% clear, this doesn't seem like something that will effect the production of action figures from Mattel who had been the master toy license holder for DC for many years now. We've reached out to Mattel to see if we can get any clarification from them and will update you if we hear anything back. See the press release below from Spinmaster: Press Release: Spin Master Corp. (TSX:TOY; www.spinmaster.com), a leading global children's entertainment company, announced today that it has entered into a three-year global licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP). Beginning Spring 2020, Spin Master will be a new toy licensee for DC in the boy's action category, remote control and robotic vehicles, water toys and games and puzzles. "Partnering with an iconic brand like DC is a major milestone for Spin Master and is part of our strategy to invest in successful licenses to further grow and diversify our business," said Ben Gadbois, Spin Master's Global President and COO. "Children everywhere have been entertained and inspired by DC Super Heroes™ and Super-Villains™ for more than 80 years and we're honoured to be a part of that storytelling and imagined play. We are looking forward to bringing Spin Master's renowned innovation to the toy line and to sharing more details about this exciting partnership in the new year." Spin Master continues to build a strong portfolio of licensed products, including its 10-year licensing partnership with FELD Entertainment as the worldwide master toy partner and the soon to be launched line of Monster Jam® trucks. Spin Master was recently recognized for its leadership in licensing by Kidscreen, who named Spin Master #1 in Licensing on the 2018 Hot 50 Companies ranking.
  6. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the SDCC Jurassic Park 30th Anniversary Steven Spielberg set from Mattel. Getting a Hammond Collection Steven Spielberg action figure was certainly not on my bingo card for 2023, but here we are, and I'm happy! The set has a really fun packaging, and is great for both fans of Jurassic Park, or cinema in general. The set comes in a very sober sleeve, all black with the Jurassic Park logo on the front, but it gets way better when you open it! There is another box inside, that looks like a cinema clapperboard, with the Jurassic Park info on one side, and the figure and dinosaur displayed on the other. The clapperboard actually works... Whoever designed this packaging deserves a raise! The SDCC Jurassic Park 30th Anniversary Steven Spielberg set comes with a Hammond Collection scale figure of director Steven Spielberg, a director chair, a camera and a Dilophosaurus, complete with his animatronic stand. The Dilophosaurus is the same as the one that came out in 2022, and comes with 2 removable neck pieces (open frill and closed). You can recreate the shooting of the Dilophosaurus scene, if you have the Dennis Nedry figure and car! Fun fact: That is the scene that gave me nightmares when I saw Jurassic Park at the cinema when it came out, as a child. Yay! Steven Spielberg doesn't really need any introductions. Jaws, E.T., the Indiana Jones trilogy, Jurassic Park, the Schindler's List... Spielberg's body of work is legendary, and it's really fun to have a plastic representation on him on our shelves. The only nitpick being the scale, because it would have been really fun to have him standing next to the George Lucas Black Series stormtrooper. I had some fun with those pictures, adding the T-Rex from last year, which is easily one of my favorite toy from the last few years. More news at 11:00... aaaand Action!
  7. I used a select Beast for the base and the origins for the head
  8. Mattel, Inc. announced today that Barbie is returning to Malibu with all new adventures – and a bit of magic – with the brand new animated series, Barbie: A Touch of Magic, premiering September 14 on Netflix. As Barbie “Malibu” Roberts and Barbie “Brooklyn” Roberts forge new friendships and embark on mystical adventures at the shore, they soon discover that magic and fantasy fill every corner of their world. While enjoying life by the beach in Malibu, Barbie and Barbie stumble upon a mysterious baby horse and work together to find where their new friend came from. It soon comes to light that the mysterious little horse is Peggy, a baby Pegasus, sent to Malibu on a mysterious mission. Barbie and Barbie must look to their friends and family to help keep their new friend safe from the clutches of Rocki, a magical being with her own mystical agenda. Featuring all-new original music, Barbie and Barbie find the magic in the world around them in Barbie: A Touch of Magic. “More than ever before, Barbie is a cultural phenomenon, showcasing the brand’s global message that anybody can be anything through content that consistently appeals to the creativity and wonder within our worldwide audience,” said Alex Godfrey, Vice President of Content Distribution, Mattel Television. “Our animated Netflix content has always been a focal point for the reinvigoration of the Barbie brand, and A Touch of Magic promises to bring the same level of fantasy fans have enjoyed in our previous series and specials to the forefront once again by delivering all-new adventures focused on fun, friendship and all things Barbie.” When Barbie: A Touch of Magic debuts this fall, it will mark a return to the series environment introduced in 2018’s highly popular Barbie DreamHouse Adventures, with Barbie and Barbie interacting with many of the same friends and places seen in the successful series. Amidst a fantastical background, the series aims to imbue the younger generation of fans with the same sense of wonder many have experienced from Barbie content during their childhood, with today’s kids and families experiencing a Barbie adventure all their own. Season 1 of Barbie: A Touch of Magic will consist of 13 22-minute episodes, and will be available on Netflix in the U.S. as well as on Pop (UK), SuperRTL (Germany), Cartoonito & Boing (Italy), Minimax (Eastern Europe), with additional broadcast and streaming partners to be announced.
  9. This year, we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Jurassic Park, and Mattel has announced their new crowdfunding project: the Mattel Creations Jurassic World The Gates crowdfund! The first 4 unlocks have already been announced, as well as the Early-bird bonus, but ToyFarce dressed entirely in white in a tropical jungle, spared no expense and found out about the next unlocks for you! The Jurassic World The Gates (branding being the reason behind it not being called "the Jurassic Park The Gates", sadly. It might confuse tons of potential backers...) will have gigantic motorized entry gates (20" tall!), and the legendary Ford Explorer from the movie as the basic offering. The first 4 'unlocks' have already been revealed, being all from scenes that happen nowhere near the gates (or even near that movie, with the T-Rex from 'The Lost World'). The following 3 unlocks will now be revealed exclusively by ToyFarce: Unlock 5 - "Heavy, expensive" night vision goggles "Are they heavy? - Yeah. - Then, they're expensive. Put them back!". The iconic night vision googles found by Tim under his seat will be included under the seat of the Ford Explorer as well at 11,000 backers. They will be made of premium stainless-steel, making them heavy, thus expensive! Unlock 6 - "I won't tell anyone you threw up." "Tim! Are you ok? Are you ok? - I threw up." Who could forget that classic exchange between Dr. Alan Grant and Tim? At 12,000 backers, a Dr. Alan Grant figure and Tim's vomit will be included for the Ford Explorer! But hey, don't tell anyone that he threw up! You promised! Unlock 7 - "3D" additional part for the gates In 2013, Jurassic Park was re-released in 3D for the 20th anniversary of the movie, so that people could enjoy it in theaters again. The poster of the movie featured the gates, with a "3D" part added at the top. At 13,000 backers, you will be able to add the "3D" part to your gate as well! What other unlocks do you wish to see added to the Mattel Creations Jurassic World The Gates Crowdfund? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... At least, it's not paddock signs! Oh, wait... *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  10. There are only 4 days to go for the Mattel Creations WWE Ultimate Edition WCW Monday Nitro Entrance Stage to be funded, which is nearly halfway through (46%) at time of writing, so make sure that you go and pledge if you want it to become a reality! We, at ToyFarce, certainly would love that this very awesome playset gets made. Here, we gathered a few extra additions that Mattel could add to the crowdfunding campaign to make sure it hits all the unlockable goals asap. TRUMPETS! A ToyFarce classic. We believe every crowdfunded projects should have a trumpet goal. REY MYSTERIO'S TUG OF WAR GAME! When we saw the render of the figure in that suspiciously 'tug of war-esque' pose, we knew something was up. Unlock whoever Rey is playing Tug of war with when the goal is reached! STEINER MATH BLACKBOARD! Look, we know it happened in TNA and not in WCW, but the Steiner Math promo redefined Scott Steiner's career, so why not? Adding a blackboard to a Scott Steiner figure will never spell 'disaster' for us at Sacrifice! DDP YOGA MAT! Flex your quads, flex your glutes, grab the ball! Diamond Dallas Page got very successful with his DDPY program, so adding a DDP Yoga mat with any DDP figures would make total sense. It ain't your mamma's yoga! HULK HOGAN'S HEARING AIDS! Wouldn't you be happy to help the Hulkster to finally be able to hear the Hulkamaniacs? He spent decades doing the gesture of putting his hand behind his ear to let us know that he couldn't hear us, and now, if we unlock all the goals, he will finally get the hearing aids he desperately needs. What else would you like to see added to the Mattel Creations Ultimate Edition WCW Monday Nitro Entrance Stage? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... WCW, where the big boys play... if the entrance stage gets funded *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  11. Hell has frozen over! A few days ago, it was announced that Hasbro and Mattel have come to an agreement on a partnership to make co-branded toys and games. The Hasbro/Mattel partership (or HasMat, like the suit!) concerns mostly the upcoming Transformers (Hasbro) and Barbie (Mattel) movies, so we can expect to see a Barbie Monopoly game, and Transformers Hot Wheels or Uno game, but ToyFarce dug a little deeper to figure out what the toy community REALLY wants! WWE/TRANSFORMERS Remember the ToyBiz Marvel figures that turned into various vehicles? (You at least remember that Punisher one, don't you?). Who wouldn't want a similar treatment on the WWE action figures? Just imagine: a John Cena that turns into a big muscle car, or a Brock Lesnar that turns into a tank (so, basically not much to change!). Get on it, HasMat! JURASSIC PARK: CLASSIFIED SERIES We were excited when we got a wolf. We were over the moon when got a crocodile. Imagine our level of excitement if we can get a Velociraptor or a T-Rex in the scale of the G.I.Joe Classified Series figures! Dinosaurs, vehicles, etc... HasMat could spare no expense! NERF MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE ROLEPLAY ITEMS You could *HAVE THE POWER* too with a Nerf Power sword! Or would you prefer a foam Skeletor Havoc staff? A foam Man-at-arms mace, perhaps? How about Masters of the Universe weapons that throw Nerf darts? The possibilities are endless! DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS: BARBIE EDITION A brand new Dungeons and Dragons starter kit with a Barbie twist! After creating your characters (either called Barbie or Ken), your first adventure will be to go shopping at the mall! Other adventures include going to the beach, walking your cute dog or gossip with other Barbies! Set of pink dice included in the box! What would you like to see from the HasMat crossover? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... HasMat! ...or is it MatBro? Hastel? *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  12. There is no denying that the 80's was a great time for cartoons and action figures based on those cartoons. The decade produced a lot of classic properties, some of which are still active today. The three most well known, arguably are G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, Transformers and Masters of the Universe. Still there are many properties from the 80's that developed decent size fan followings, but have never really been brought back for a major modern toy line. One of the most notable properties that fits that description is M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand), which is currently held by Hasbro. There have been rumblings in recent years that Hasbro is looking at ways to bring that property back to toy shelves and TV, but nothing definitive. Two other animated shows/action figures from the 80's that I am often asked if they will ever return are Silverhawks and BraveStarr. For those not familiar with these two properties, Silverhawks was an animated series that first debuted in 1986 from Lorimar-Telepictures. It focused on a team of cyborg-like character lead by Commander Stargazer. They fought the evil Mon*Star. The most recognizable character from this franchise is Quicksilver, who wears a silver bird-like armor. In 1987 Kenner produced a fairly short-lived action figure line based on the show. Interesting enough, it was LJN who was supposed to make the toys for this show, but backed out of the deal at the last minute. LJN is probably best known for making the original ThunderCat toys. Warner Bros. now holds the rights to Silverhawks when they purchased Lorimar-Telepictures back in 1989. Mon*Star actually made a brief appearance in the 2011 ThunderCats remake animated series. BraveStarr followed in the foot-steps of Masters of the Universe. The animated series was created by Filmation and the toys were produced by Mattel. The figures hit shelves in 1986, a year before the show aired on TV. Both were fairly short-lived. In fact the show is somewhat notoriously noted for being the final series made by Lou Scheimer's Filmation before the company shut down. The concept of the show and toys were based on a space/western type mash-up. The main character was a Native American named Marshal BraveStarr, and his main adversary was a dragon like creature known as Stampede, who was voiced by Alan Oppenheimer. The same person who voiced He-Man's arch-nemesis Skeletor on the Filmation Master of the Universe series. Another notable villain in the BraveStarr series was a character known as Tex Hex, who was originally created for the Filmation Ghostbusters series. Mattel only made one series of 8" action figures which did not include Stampede. Both Bravestarr and Tex Hex did get figures, and they featured an interesting gimmick called Laser Fire Backpacks. These backpacks shot infrared beams that activated sound effects. the line also got some playsets made for it but was canceled before the second wave of figures could go into production. While I can't say 100%, I believe Mattel still retains the licensing rights for BraveStarr action figures. So that brings us to the question at hand today. Will we ever see modern versions of Silverhawks and Bravestarr action figures officially made? I honestly don't know, but I do think it is possible. As to who would make them, well the two most likely choices would be either Mattel or perhaps more likely a smaller company like Super7. I don't think Mattel would bother with either license unless there was a movie or new animated series in the works. Super7 however has a seemingly good relationship with both Mattel and Warner Bros, and made action figures for both companies with He-Man and ThunderCats. Super7 has even teased in recent months that they have some pretty exciting licenses in the works for 2022. To illustrate how cool I think modern versions of these characters might look in action figure form, we are featuring the custom work of boy_toys528, who has created custom figures of both Quicksilver from Silverhawks and Marshal BraveStarr from the BraveStarr series. Let us know what you think, would you like to see new Silverhawks and BraveStarr figures made, and which company do you think would be best suited for the job?
  13. We 've heard rumors that we might hear about the next WWE Mattel Creations crowdfunding project very soon (or even today!), so ToyFarce asked all the Mattel WWE fans what would be at the top of their dream list for the next project. The Raw is War arena and the WCW Nitro arena that were displayed at a few conventions last year are obviously the top picks, but here are some other WWE related moments that the fans would back in a heartbeat: ULTIMATE PUNJABI PRISON: Everyone's favorite match, a match so good it only happened 3 times, is the Punjabi Prison match. A total cluster*@$k where you can't really see what's happening and that is even worse for the poeple in attendance, the Punjabi Prison match has actually already been made as a playset by Mattel, but it could definitely get a Mattel Creations upgrade! BROCK LESNAR'S TRACTOR: The main event match of SummerSlam 2022, a Last Man Standing match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar (which had to be the 15th time we saw that match), saw Brock Lesnar come to ringside with a tractor and lift the ring, while Roman Reigns was in it. A WWE moment that definitely deserves to be made into a playset! 2017 ROYAL RUMBLE LONGEST RAMP: The 2017 Royal Rumble is famous for its entrance ramp, that was SO long (60-65 yards) that some of the bigger wrestlers had to be brought to the ring with golf carts. It was pretty funny to see the countdown for a wrestler happen, 3...2...1... BUZZ, see the wrestlers come out through the entrance, and then not see them for a few minutes before they managed to get to the ring. It would make a nice playset, an arena with a 5-6 foot long entrance ramp. The golf carts could be unlockable rewards! STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN'S ZAMBONI: Another great WWE moment that never got turned into a playset, that would be sure to sell out/fund instantly. Stone Cold Steve Austin drove a zamboni to the ring, climbed on it and jumped on Vince McMahon to deliver a can of whoop *$$ to him. I imagine the beer sticker wouldn't work on a toy for kids, so maybe they could be replaced by other, made-up brands? BASH AT THE BEACH ARENA: Imagine a whole arena set that you could fill with water! The old Bash at the Beach playset was already great (it had "Body slammin', water splashin' action!", it said it on the box), but an updated, Mattel Creations version of it, where you could fill the entire base with water could be even better! Splashy! VINCE MCMAHON'S MASSIVE EGO: Now, that would not fit in a box, would it? What would you want to see as the next Mattel Creations WWE Crowdfunding project? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... Then, Now, Forever! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  14. Adrenaline... In My Soul... More Figures of Cody Rhodes! This weekend, 'The American Nightmare' Cody Rhodes overcame 29 other WWE superstars and became the winner of the 2023 Royal Rumble (well, he entered the rumble at number 30, so a lot of the work was already done, but he did overcome a few, still!). After the event was over, the WWE held a press conference where Cody spoke with a few journalists, and he did mention that there will be merchandise made, including action figures, with his infamous torn pec from a few months ago! During the conference, Cody admitted that he has not re-watched the June 2022 "Hell in a Cell" match with Seth Rollins, during which he had a gnarly injury on his right pectoral muscle, and probably never will. However, he mentioned that merchandise, including action figures with said injury, should see the light of day soon. "If you thought my AEW figures were bad, just wait until you see the new ones", he added (for real, this is an actual quote...). ToyFarce reached out to a contact at Mattel to learn more about it, and it turns out there are more than one 'torn pec' figures in the pipeline. There will be both a Basic and an Elite figure of Cody Rhodes with huge, purple torn pec, along with possibly an Ultimate Edition one in the works. The Basic will have a chase version, with ALL TORN new deco. More news at 11:00... and congratulations to Cody who's heading to Wrestlemania! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  15. Mattel, Inc. and Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that J.J. Abrams's Bad Robot will produce Hot Wheels, a live-action motion picture featuring the iconic and timeless toy racing car. The high-throttle action film will bring to life this beloved, multi-generational franchise and showcase some of the world’s hottest and sleekest cars, monster trucks, and motorcycles. Hannah Minghella, Bad Robot’s President of Motion Pictures said, “Before Hot Wheels became the global household name it is today, it was the dream of Elliot Handler, who was inventing and building toy cars at home in his Southern California garage. It’s that imagination, passion, and risk-taking spirit that we want to capture in this film.” Kevin McKeon, Vice President, and Andrew Scannell, Creative Executive will lead the project for Mattel Films. Peter Dodd will lead the project for Warner Bros. Pictures. Hannah Minghella and Jon Cohen will oversee Bad Robot Mattel Films and Warner Bros. Pictures are also partners on the upcoming motion picture, Barbie. Now in principal photography, the film is targeted for theatrical release in 2023. The film stars and is produced by Margot Robbie under her Lucky Chap Entertainment banner and directed by Greta Gerwig who also wrote the screenplay alongside her husband Noah Baumbach. In addition to Hot Wheels, the Mattel Films development slate features movies based on American Girl, Barbie, Barney, Magic 8 Ball, Major Matt Mason, Masters of the Universe, Polly Pocket, Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, Thomas & Friends, UNO, View-Master, and Wishbone. Mattel Films is also developing Christmas Balloon, based on all-new IP. Bad Robot has a wide slate of film projects in development under its Warner Bros. Discovery deal, including SUPERMAN written by Ta-Nehisi Coates, ZATANNA written by Emerald Fennell, and the animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ iconic children’s book OH, THE PLACES YOU’LL GO with Jon Chu attached to direct. Bad Robot is currently in post-production on the female-driven thriller LOU starring Allison Janney and Jurnee Smollett for Netflix as well as working with director Matt Shakman on a new STAR TREK movie for Paramount.
