A theater fight in the making as Warner Bros. new Mortal Kombat movie will be going head-to-head against Sony and Mattel Films’ Masters of the Universe with both being released on March 5th, 2021. The new fantasy-action Mortal Kombat is the third film inspired by the video games and is being directed by first-time filmmaker Simon McQuoid and produced by Aquaman’s James Wan. Two previous films, 1995's Mortal Kombat and 1997’s Mortal Kombat Annihilation, both based on the video games were released. The film just started production in South Australia, with no details on cast or storyline revealed. Source: Deadline

Starting tomorrow (Monday - 1/7) at 1:00pm PST: The Masters of the Universe Club Grayskull series continues with Super7’s 4th Wave of super detailed deluxe 7-inch Masters of the Universe figures. Each highly articulated figure comes complete with an assortment of accessories and this wave includes Kittrina, Modulok, Prince Adam, Roboto, Shadow Weaver, and Stratos. Details for each figure and their accessories will be posted tomorrow. The Masters of the Universe Club Grayskull Wave 4 set of six figures will be available for pre-order from January 7th until January 31st, 2018 for $210 per set plus shipping. A 3-part payment plan will be available at checkout. This is a made-to-order, pre-order and individual figures will be available with a full set.
  5. Sony and Mattel are attempting to bring "Masters of the Universe" to theaters again and are in final talks with writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Adam Aaron Nee has been tapped to direct the project with David S. Goyer as an executive producer. Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch, as well as DeVon Franklin are producing. The project is based on the bestselling He-Man toyline from the 1980s that spawned an animated TV show and a 1987 feature from Cannon Films starring Dolph Lundgren. Source: Deadline
  6. Mondo has released official images and details for their upcoming 1/6 scale Masters of the Universe Skeletor figure. The 12" figure features over 30 points of articulation, reversible fabric cape, six different interchangeable hands, power sword, battle axe and a lot of other accessories, Skeletor is the most evil figure this side of Snake Mountain! The Mondo Exclusive features the Cosmic Key as a bonus accessory.
  7. Shown below is a look at Masters of the Universe figures Super 7 had on hand at this weekends Power-Con. Shown are their Made For TV Robot He-Man, Teela and Beastman figures as well as their Club Grayskull Deluxe Wave 3 figures which includes Mantenna, Grizzlor, She-Ra and Fisto. While not shown here, their Snake-Mountain playset was on hand. Nothing has changed since SDCC on the front though. You can see our images of the playset from SDCC here.   8. Mondo has released official images for their upcoming 1/6 scale Masters of the Universe He-Man figure as well as a few additional images for their Skeletor. The He-Man 1/6 Scale Figure features over 30 points of articulation, including power sword, battle axe, sheath, shield, short sword, hand blaster, rifle blaster, Burbie mini figure with stand, six different interchangeable hands, and fabric costume elements. The figure also comes with a regular and vintage portrait. This is the most powerful figure you will ever find, from here to Eternia! The Mondo Exclusive features an alternative Skeletor portrait inspired by art in the vintage mini comics for use with the Skeletor 1/6 Scale Figure - coming soon! The regular version will cost $160 and the Mondo exclusive will be $165. Besides images which you can check out below, they also created this vintage style toy commercial for the figures

This weekend kicks off the 2018 Masters of the Universe Power-Con convention which is taking place in Los Angles, and while things don't officially start until tomorrow we already have a look via Pixel-Dan at some new product from Mattel who will be on hand this year. Shown below are Megaconstrux mini-figures which includes Scare-glow, Man-At-Arms, Stratos Beastman and Teela. The Wind Raider was on display as well. Also shown are new Jumbo figures which includes, He-Man, Adam, Anti-He-Man, Wonder Bread He-Man and some kind of green Horde version of He-Man which I am not familiar with. Look for more details on these to be announced later this weekend. It also looks like Mattel might be promoting She-Ra and He-Man dolls this weekend as well. Check out this video from Dan. This exclusive figure is being offered through the German MOTU fan magazine DIE WELT DER MEISTER. Pre-Orders which start on July 2 at 10am German time. The pre-orders for the figure will be held on the website www.space-figuren.de. Price: 19,99 € + Shipping // Maximum quantity: 3 items for esch person. Shipping: Autumn 2018.
