  2. According to Deadline, the SyFy network has opted not to renew Krypton for a 3rd season. The Superman origin drama series ended with the August 14th Season 2 finale and with this series getting canceled, Syfy also won’t be proceeding with the previously announced Lobo spinoff, which had been in development. Sources are reporting that Krypton producer Warner Horizon Scripted Television is in conversations with other outlets and the upcoming HBO Max streaming platform are considered the most logical options as DC content has been a focus for both. Past seasons of Krypton already run on DC Universe. Season 1 is currently streaming on DC Universe, with Season 2 coming in 2020.

Scanlan, who is credited in Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' has been tapped to take on the DC Comics villain, Lobo in a recurring role for the second season of the Superman prequel drama, Krypton. Lobo, the ruthless bounty hunter who murdered his entire species has a genius-level intellect when it comes to matters of warfare and is a deadly adversary. He has superhuman strength and is virtually immortal. Lobo's word is the only thing he hold sacred and although he'll never violate the letter of an agreement, he might disregard its spirit from time to time. The second season, which doesn't have a return date determined will expand beyond Kandor to other planets as Doomsday is unleashed.   19. SyFy and CBR has released a full image of Scanlan in full Lobo gear. This comes a day after announcing Actor Emmett J. Scanlan will take on the DC Comics villain, Lobo in a recurring role for the second season of the Superman prequel drama, Krypton.
  20. In today's SYFY panel for KRYPTON, it was revealed that the DC character Lobo will join the series when it returns for season two in 2019. Casting has yet to be announced for the villain in season two of the Syfy drama. From the peaceful planet of Czarnia, Lobo was born a devil in the midst of utopia. Loosely translated from his native language, his name means "he who devours your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it." As a teenager, he single-handedly slaughtered his entire civilization, becoming the last of his race. Now, this mercenary roams the universe on his motorcycle, getting paid for what he loves most - murder and mayhem."
