  1. The Monsterverse continues. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, in theaters, on March 15, 2024. This latest entry in the Monsterverse franchise follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.
  2. Disney Branded Television has closed a deal with James Wan’s Atomic Monster to develop a live-action series on King Kong (Working Title). King Kong is based on from Merian C. Cooper’s original books and the new King Kong novelizations by Joe DeVito. Stephany Folsom is writing the new development as a serialized action/adventure drama that brings the classic monster story into the modern age, with a return to Skull Island and the dawn of a new Kong. The series will explore the mythology of King Kong’s origin story and the supernatural mysteries of his home. Folsom would executive produce along with Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett for Atomic Monster and Dannie Festa and Marc Manus for World Builder Entertainment. The Merian C. Cooper Estate had teamed up with artist Joe DeVito to produce new novelizations that are being used as source material for the series, along with the original book IP. Source: Deadline
  3. Warner Bros. is looking to play it on the safe side and is moving the release of Dune: Part Two from October 20th, 2023 to November 17th, 2023. The studio is looking at the release of Lionsgate prequel to The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes dropping on the same date, but Warner Bros. will have the upper hand with access to IMAX screen releases. Universal will be looking to release DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls 3 and Paramount has their John Krasinski-directed Ryan Reynolds movie on November 17th, 2023. Warner Bros. has also set the date of March 15th, 2024 as the release for the next Godzilla-Kong sequel from Legendary. The studio was keeping the date open for an untitled DC movie, The sequel will also have IMAX screen access upon its release date.

  5. The government agency Screen Queensland announced today that the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Godzilla Vs Kong is set to shoot in Queensland, Australia. According to Deadline, State Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said that the movie will begin filming later this year on locations across the Gold Coast and the southeast. No official announcement has been made by Legendary and Warner Bros. but the details for the untitled sequel are being kept under wraps.

  8. Looks like NECA might not be out of the Monster figure making business just yet. Today they posted this images for what appears to be creatures that have appeared in older King Kong movies. Stay-tuned for more details as they become available on these.
  9. Tamashii Nations has released official images for their upcoming Godzilla and King Kong S.H. Figuarts figures based on the upcoming Warner Bros. Godzilla Vs. Kongmovie which will hit theaters and HBO MAX on March 31. Both figures are slated for release in May 2021. King Kong will stand 5.7" tall and include 2 headsculpts, multiple hands and axe weapon. Godzilla will stand 6.2" and has articulated jaw, new wrist articulation, and metallic paint on the fin to pick up the light.
