  1. J. K. Simmons is in negotiations to reprise his role as Commissioner James Gordon but this time for Batgirl, Warner Bros.’ feature for HBO Max. This news comes after we reported that 'In the Heights' breakout Leslie Grace was picked to star in the titular role. The project is being directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah from a script by Christina Hodson. Kristin Burr is producing. Plot details are being kept secret but the feature is looking at a 2022 release on the WarnerMedia streaming service. Source: The Hollywood Reporter
  2. The third season of Titans kicks off on HBO Max on August 12th and HBO Max has released some preview images from the first episode of the series.
  3. A mythic and emotionally charged hero's journey, DUNE tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet's exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence -- a commodity capable of unlocking humanity's greatest potential -- only those who can conquer their fear will survive. (Based on Frank Herbert's seminal bestseller of the same name.) Dune stars Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, Stephen McKinley Henderson, David Dastmalchian, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster Release: October 22nd, 2021 (Theaters & HBO MAX)
  4. HBO Max has released the official trailer and key art for season three of the Max Original TITANS. The first three episodes of season three will debut THURSDAY, AUGUST 12, with subsequent episodes launching weekly every Thursday through October 21 on HBO Max. TITANS follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find where they belong. In season three, circumstances draw our heroes to Gotham City, where they will reunite with old friends and face new threats. The series stars Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, Conor Leslie, Curran Walters and Joshua Orpin with Alan Ritchson, Minka Kelly, Damaris Lewis, Savannah Welch and Vincent Kartheiser. Jay Lycurgo will recur this season. TITANS is produced by Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television. Based on the characters from DC, the series was developed by Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns & Greg Berlanti, with Johns, Berlanti, Greg Walker and Sarah Schechter serving as executive producers.
  5. The third season of Titans kicks off on HBO Max on August 12th and the official Titans Twitter account has a new batch of brand new headshots for new and returning characters. The first three episodes of Titans season 3 will premiere on HBO Max on August 12th. All remaining episodes will air every Thursday until the finale drops on October 21st.
  6. It looks like the upcoming Snyder Cut of the Justice League movie from Warner Bros. which will be airing on HBO Max later this year will be getting the 7" action figure treatment from McFarlane Toys. According to a Philippines toy store called Matt's Box, they list the following figures coming from McFarlane: If true, these will be the first Justice League movie figures released by McFarlane since the company didn't have the DC license when the original Justice League movie came out. According to the listings, the Darkseid and Steppenwolf figures look to be 10" tall and released as some kind of deluxe figures. Darkseid was not featured in the original Justice League movie, so this would be the first figure of him from anyone. While Mattel did give us a Steppenwolf figure from the original movie, the Snyder Cut version is said to have gone through some significant CGI upgrades. 3 figures in the listings for the movie are said to be store exclusives here in the US. These will likely be variants released at either Walmart and/or Target. For these, Batman sounds like it will be an unmasked version and Cyborg will have his helmet down. The Superman is kinda odd as it sounds like the store exclusive version will feature his regular outfit. That would suggest the regular release version will feature the all black rebirth outfit. I would have thought it would be the other way around. The final store exclusive figure isn't a movie figure, but a variant for the upcoming Last Knight On Earth wave Wonder Woman. This variant will have the Dr. Fate like helmet like we saw teased by McFarlane back in October of last year. We will treat all of this as rumor for now until McFarlane officially confirms it, but 9 times out of 10 these overseas listings turn out to be true. Let us know your thoughts below in the COMMENTS SECTION, are you looking forward to 7" scale DC Multiverse Justice League movie figures from McFarlane Toys?
  7. From writer/director James Gunn comes Warner Bros. Pictures' superhero action-adventure THE SUICIDE SQUAD, featuring a collection of the most degenerate delinquents in the DC lineup. Welcome to hell -- a.k.a. Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out -- even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today's do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and everyone's favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and-destroy mission with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave ... and Amanda Waller's government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they're dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyone's laying down bets, the smart money is against them -- all of them. The Suicide Squad stars Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Idris Elba, John Cena, Peter Capaldi, Alice Braga, Sean Gunn, Taika Waititi, Michael Rooker, Nathan Fillion, David Dastmalchian, Pete Davidson, Daniela Melchior, Steve Agee, Storm Reid, Joaquin Cosio, Mayling Ng, Juan Diego Botto, Julio Ruiz, Flula Borg, Jennifer Holland Release: August 6th, 2021 (HBO MAX And Theaters)
  8. Freddie Stroma, who starred in Netflix’s Bridgerton and Netflix’s The Crew, has replaced Chris Conrad in HBO Max’s spinoff of James Gunn’s Suicide Squad movie. Stroma, will play Vigilante, otherwise known as Adrian Chase, a hand-to-hand combatant, a brilliant marksman and a master of the lariat. He was a New York City DA who sought justice in his own way as his alter ego after his wife and kids were killed by mobsters. Vigilante also has the ability to heal quickly and regenerate his body from injuries as serious as stabbings or gunshot wounds. Conrad had originally been cast to play the character but is leaving amicably due to creative differences. Peacemaker will be a straight-to-series eight episode order with The Suicide Squad director writing all episodes and directing a number of them. Gunn and The Suicide Squad producer Peter Safran will serve as executive producers of the series, with John Cena as co-executive producer. Peacemaker will be produced by Gunn’s Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company in association with Warner Bros. Television. Source: Deadline

The series is being written by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Seth Grahame-Smith from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. They’ll be joined by a multitude of other Lanterns — from comic book favorites to never-before-seen heroes. Wittrock’s Guy Gardner/Green Lantern is a hulking mass of masculinity, and, as rendered in the comics, an embodiment of 1980s hyper-patriotism. And yet, Guy is somehow likable.
