Both Target's NECA Haulathon and Walmart's Collector Con are currently ongoing, with new items being revealed every week (or all at once, the first day if you work in a Target "lol"), and collectors in the USA are refreshing the Target and Walmart webpages, along with yours truly, Toy News International, to see the latest news and figures revealed! One collector, though, managed to stay oblivious about both events, thinking that the names 'Haulathon' and 'Collector Con' that everybody seems to mention these days were none other than new Transformers characters... "It's an honest mistake..." said William, 36. "I heard some collectors mention the NECA Haulathon, but I thought they were saying 'Mega Haulathon', which, to be fair, kinda sounds like a Transformer name, some sort of moving truck, like a U-haul, that turns into a robot. That would make complete sense! Since I don't collect Transformers, I ignored that for a bit. Then another collector said that there would be a Walmart Collector Con soon as well, so I thought it would be some sort of Walmart exclusive Transformer figure... I thought it was weird that everybody talked about Transformers all of a sudden, but there's a new movie coming out soon, so why not?" Thankfully, William realized his mistake on time and managed to secure some of the items he wanted from both events. A happy ending to a toy collector story. How weird! More news at 11:00... It's that time of the year again: the announcements for the Haulathon haven't been made yet by NECA, yet the end caps at various Target stores are already full of new figures a week early! Yay for street dates! And of course, half of it is already on eBay... So what happened exactly? ToyFarce investigated. As announced on the promo pic, the NECA Haulathon is supposed to start on February 26th in Target stores, and on March 3rd for online and international purchases. New products should drop every Friday. That is, of course, unless your Target has already put everything out before the event started... We sat down with Kyle, a 22 year old Target employee from New Jersey, to ask why they can't just keep the toys in the boxes until the official starting date of the NECA Haulathon event: "Oh, is there an event? Yeah, we don't really care... We get products, we put them on the shelves". Great. NECA Haulathon? More like NECA Haul-@$#-thon! (Yep, that's a joke from last year). More news at 11:00... It's bad enough I had my target order of Super Bebop and Mighty Rocksteady stolen and now they cancelled my order?! They offer me 30% discount...don't want discounts or coupons i want my items.
