  1. Columbia Pictures has released a new teaser poster for the upcoming sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and it features a new Ghostbusters logo. The logo does have an icy, cold effect so it might take place in the winter in New York City. The working title for the sequel is Ghostbusters: Firehouse and is co-written and executive producer Gil Kenan, with Afterlife director and co-writer Jason Reitman serving as writer and executive producer. The movie also stars Patton Oswalt, Kumail Nanjiani, James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind. They join returning cast members Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and Mckenna Grace. Ernie Hudson is returning from the original Ghostbuster movies and is said to have a large role to play in the sequel. The film is scheduled for a theater release on December 20th, 2023.
  2. Deadline has confirmed that Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind have joined the cast of the live-action sequel to Sony Pictures’ hit film, Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The sequel will be directed by Gil Kenan with Jason Reitman, who directed the 2021 film, moving into the writer-producer role alongside co-scribe Kenan and Jason Blumenfeld. Paul Rudd and Carrie Coon will be returning with the location now returning to New York City and the iconic firehouse made famous in the original Ghostbusters films. The movie is scheduled for a December 2023 release.

Paul Rudd and Carrie Coon are set to return to their previous roles.   5. Sony will now open the musical Cinderella, starring Camila Cabello in the title role, on July 16th instead of February 5th. Cinderella will go up against Warner Bros-HBO Max's Space Jam with its new January 2nd release date. Sony's Tom Holland-Mark Wahlberg feature Uncharted, based on the PlayStation videogame, will open on February 11th, 2022, instead of July 16th. Sony is pushing its Marvel movie Morbius to January 21st, 2022. MGM's Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway is leaving Easter weekend, April 2nd-4th, and heading to June 11th, where it will be the only be a wide release. MGM has moved No Time to Die to October 8th. Ghostbusters: Afterlife will debut on November 11th instead of June 11th.
