We are just a few days away from the official release of Hasbro's next round of Target exclusive G.I. Joe Classified 6" Cobra Island figures which includes the Cobra Viper and Firefly. This is a time of excitement and dread for Joe collectors as both figures are expected to be quit difficult to find on shelves come January 1, which the official on-sale date for the figures. The pre-orders for both of them sold out in seconds back when they were originally listed on the Target website. The figures first started showing up at physical Target stores in CA last week but are technically embargoed from being sold until New Years day. The exact number of figures stores are getting in stock initially is not entirely clear, but from what I can tell it is looking like one case for each figure which comes out to 6 figures for each. Similar to what we saw with the first wave of these Cobra Island exclusives. The Viper being an army builder will likely be the tougher of the two figures to find. I do expect more figure to also be made available online at some point, possibly on the first. Even if they are made available again online on the first, the exact time of day when they would be made available is completely unknown, and once they go up they likely will only last minutes before selling out again. The Target exclusive figures have been a point of high contention which their difficulty in obtaining for many collectors, causing some to just simply wash their hands of the line. Hasbro has promised to try and make these figures more readily available, but at this point I don't think many have much faith in that happening. The Viper figures are already going for over $100 on eBay. I suspect if these two figures continue to be hard to get like the first wave of exclusive were, even more collectors will simply walk away from the line and look to collect something a little more easier to obtain. All I will say is DON"T FEED THE SCALPERS. Anyway while the official sale date isn't until this Friday, a few lucky collectors have managed to snag the figures early. One such collector is Monkey-Paw-Pics who has posted some of the first in-hand images of the Cobra Viper which you can check out below.

Hasbro today during PulseCon wowed us with some amazing new 6" G.I. Joe Classified figure reveals, and then as if they were giving Joe fan's a virtual kick to the groin they announced two of the four figures they showed would once again be Target store exclusives. For the non-exclusive figures coming in wave three which will be out early next year they showed us an Amazing looking Zartan figure as well as a new Cobra Trooper. Zartan comes with a Removable hood, Backpack, Mask, Alternate hands, Pistol and Knife. These accessories are very true looking to the original 80's version. The lack of color change and swamp skier is a bit disappointing, but still the figure looks great. The Cobra Trooper is virtually the same figure we got in the previous Target wave minus a riffle and slight paint deco changes. Both of these figures will be released everywhere and available for pre-order now at our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com. The two Target exclusive figures also look amazing. They are figures of Firefly and the Cobra Viper. These figures went up for pre-order on the Target website and sold out in 2 seconds, thanks to Target's unwillingness to put anything in place to stop scalper bots from getting them. Target has the figures listed with a January 1 release date, however if the last wave is any indication, stores will probably get them in sooner, and then we can play the game of which stores will sell them early and which ones won't. The Firefly comes with 6 accessories which includes a gun, stick of dynamite, drone, backpack, goggles and pad. The DCPI# 087-16-2542 and you can see it listed here, not that you will actually ever be able to buy it there. The Cobra Viper comes with 5 accessories which includes goggles, pistol, riffle, backpack and bandanna. The DCPI# 087-16-8296 and the link to it can be found here.
