Tony Award-nominated actress and Broadway star Lauren Ridloff has been officially cast to play Connie in The Walking Dead Season 9. The character of Connie comes straight off the pages of the comic book as she is a quiet member of a small survival group led by a woman named Magna, who eventually assimilates her crew into Alexandria and the Hilltop. One notable difference between the comic character and her show counterpart is that the show version will be deaf as Ridloff is also deaf. According to sources, Lauren Ridloff’s character is “a seasoned survivor deft at using her senses to read people, situations, and trouble. Her character is deaf and uses American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate.” Source: Entertainment Weekly
Entertainment Weekly has released new behind-the-scenes and episodic images from the second half of the fourth season. The first half of season four began with one figure huddled around a campfire, and ended with nine. They will find themselves pitted against new adversaries – human, walker, and even nature itself. Theirs will be a journey wrought with danger, love, heartbreak, loss, and ultimately, hope. The series is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg, as well as Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, Gale Anne Hurd and Greg Nicotero, and produced by AMC Studios. The series stars Lennie James, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo, Danay Garcia, Garret Dillahunt, Maggie Grace and Jenna Elfman.
