Warner Bros. is looking to play it on the safe side and is moving the release of Dune: Part Two from October 20th, 2023 to November 17th, 2023. The studio is looking at the release of Lionsgate prequel to The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes dropping on the same date, but Warner Bros. will have the upper hand with access to IMAX screen releases. Universal will be looking to release DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls 3 and Paramount has their John Krasinski-directed Ryan Reynolds movie on November 17th, 2023. Warner Bros. has also set the date of March 15th, 2024 as the release for the next Godzilla-Kong sequel from Legendary. The studio was keeping the date open for an untitled DC movie, The sequel will also have IMAX screen access upon its release date.

Deadline is reporting that Léa Seydoux has signed on to play Lady Margot in Warner Bros. and Legendary’s Dune: Part Two. Seydoux is in negotiations and her character is described as a long-standing servant of the Sisterhood. The French actress will be joining the ensemble that includes Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, and Josh Brolin, who are expected to reprise their roles, as well Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Austin Butler, who were also recently announced. Denis Villeneuve is returning to write, direct and produce. Jon Spaihts is also returning to co-write with Villeneuve. Mary Parent, Villeneuve, Cale Boyter, Tanya Lapointe, and Patrick McCormick are producing. The executive producers are Josh Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, Thomas Tull, Spaihts, Richard P. Rubinstein, and John Harrison, with Kevin J. Anderson serving as creative consultant. Production is slated to start in the fall, with an October 20th, 2023 theater release. Léa Seydoux is movie credited with France, Deception, and Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch. She reprised her role as James Bond’s true love in the most recent 007 movie No Time to Die.
