Now, in a magical world where brownies, sorcerers, trolls, and other mystical creatures flourish, the adventure continues, as an unlikely group of heroes set off on a dangerous quest to places far beyond their home, where they must face their inner demons and come together to save their world.

  4. Today the BBC and Disney Branded Television - two giants of entertainment - have come together to transform Doctor Who into a global franchise for UK audiences and the rest of the world. Under a shared creative vision, they will deliver this quintessentially British show to future generations on an unprecedented scale with Disney+ as the exclusive home for new seasons of Doctor Who outside the UK and Ireland. The announcement - which was made this morning by the next Doctor Who, Ncuti Gatwa, during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan - begins a new collaboration between BBC and Disney Branded Television. A new Doctor Who logo was also unveiled for the new era. Both partners have aligned under returning showrunner Russell T Davies' bold vision, who takes control of the TARDIS in 2023. He was responsible for Doctor Who's revival in 2005 and is credited with propelling the show into one of TV's biggest hits. The new episodes will premiere on the BBC and Disney+ beginning in late 2023 for fans all over the world. The show will be produced in Wales by Bad Wolf with BBC Studios Production. The new episodes of Doctor Who will return to screens in November 2023 to coincide with the 60th anniversary and will premiere exclusively on the BBC for the UK and Ireland. The series will explore the mythology of King Kong’s origin story and the supernatural mysteries of his home. Folsom would executive produce along with Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett for Atomic Monster and Dannie Festa and Marc Manus for World Builder Entertainment. The Merian C. 6. At today's San Diego Comic-Con panel for "The Orville: New Horizons," Emmy award-winning actor, writer, director, producer Seth MacFarlane announced that all three seasons of the Emmy-nominated, fan favorite sci-fi series "The Orville," will be available to stream on Disney+ on August 10. The epic space adventure series will also continue to stream on Hulu. "I'm thrilled to bring all three seasons of "The Orville" to Disney+. Making this show has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my career, and I'm immensely grateful to Disney for providing us the opportunity to expand our Orville community further. Its crew, both human and alien, face the wonders and dangers of outer space. In the new, third season, the crew of the U.S.S. To celebrate the one week countdown to the theatrical release of Disney and Pixar's "Lightyear," Disney+ invites fans to explore the history of Buzz Lightyear and get a sneak peek at the making of the all-new film. Pixar Animation Studios' "Beyond Infinity: Buzz and the Journey to Lightyear" explores the evolution of an icon, tracing Buzz Lightyear's route from toy to the hero featured in the new film. Check out the trailer and key art celebrating today's launch of the documentary on Disney+. It is directed by Tony Kaplan and produced by Sureena Mann. Opening in theaters in one week (June 17), "Lightyear" - the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear (voice of Chris Evans), the hero who inspired the toy - follows the legendary Space Ranger on an intergalactic adventure. 9. While I would keep this in the rumor pile until we get additional confirmation, /Flim is reporting that actress Rosario Dawson (Daredevil) will be taking up the role of Jedi Ahsoka Tano in the second season of the Disney+ Mandalorian series. Up until now Ahsoka is a character that has only appeared in animated form. The character was originally created for the Clone Wars animated series to be Anakin's Padawan. We have seen the fan-favorite character grow over the years and survive the great Jedi purge after the events depicted in Revenge of the Sith. An older version of the character was last seen in the Star Wars Rebels animated series which took place right before A New Hope.

  15. The magical world of George Lucas' "Willow," the epic fantasy adventure set in an age of swords, sorcery, myths and monsters, will be returning in a Disney+ series slated to begin production next year. Jon M. Chu ("In The Heights," "Crazy Rich Asians") is set to direct the pilot, and will serve as executive producer along with showrunners Jonathan Kasdan ("Solo") and Wendy Mericle ("Arrow"). Jonathan Kasdan wrote the pilot. "Growing up in the '80s, 'Willow' has had a profound effect on me," says Chu. "The story of the bravest heroes in the least likely places allowed me, an Asian-American kid growing up in a Chinese restaurant looking to go to Hollywood, to believe in the power of our own will, determination and of course, inner magic. So the fact that I get to work with my heroes from Kathleen Kennedy to Ron Howard is bigger than a dream come-true. It's a bucket-list moment for me. Jon Kasdan and Wendy Mericle have added such groundbreaking new characters and delightful surprises to this timeless story that I can't wait for the world to come along on this epic journey with us." Chu directed the film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical "In the Heights," which will be released in June 2021. He will also direct and serve as executive producer for the pilot of ABC's Medical Drama "Triage." Ron Howard, director of the original "Willow" film, returns as executive producer on the series with Bob Dolman, writer of the original film, serving as consulting producer. "It's creatively exciting to not only revisit the world and characters first conceived by George Lucas, Bob Dolman and myself but to see it take flight in such fresh, fun and cinematic ways through the imagination of Jon Kasdan and Team Willow," says Howard. "This isn't a nostalgic throw-back, it's a creative lean-forward and it's a blast to be a part of it all." The series, which is Lucasfilm's first venture into non-Star Wars storytelling since 2015, takes place years after the events of the original "Willow" film. It introduces all-new characters to the enchanted realm of fairy queens and two-headed Eborsisk monsters, and welcomes back its namesake hero, Willow Ufgood, performed once again by the unmatchable Warwick Davis. "So many fans have asked me over the years if Willow will make a return, and now I'm thrilled to tell them that he will indeed," says Davis. "Many have told me they grew up with 'Willow' and that the film has influenced how they view heroism in our own world. If Willow Ufgood can represent the heroic potential in all of us, then he is a character I am extremely honored to reprise." "This is an exciting new era for storytelling at Lucasfilm," says Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. "Jon Chu's vision, coupled with the writing of Jon Kasdan and Wendy Mericle, is going to take Willow into new and exciting directions for the series. Reuniting Ron Howard and Warwick Davis in the world of 'Willow' is something that they've both wanted to do for some time, and I couldn't be more proud of the incredible team we've put together to bring this series to Disney+." Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Jon M. Chu, Jonathan Kasdan, Wendy Mericle, Ron Howard and Imagine Television will serve as executive producers, with Roopesh Parekh and Hannah Friedman as co-executive producers. Additionally, Bob Dolman will serve as consulting producer with Julia Cooperman as producer. The production plans to return to the dramatic and enchanted landscapes of Wales, where much of the original film was shot.
