The long-rumored Obi-Wan Kenobi project may now have new life as a limited series on Disney's soon to launch streaming service, Disney+. Following the last year's disappointing box-office performance of Solo, hopes for a spin-off film based around Obi-Wan seem to have faded, but, SrarWarsNewsNet.com reports Kenobi could, instead, join Cassian Andor and The Mandalorian, as a limited (6 episodes?) series on Disney+, a streaming service said to launch later this year. Of course, until announced by Disney, this should be considered a rumor, for now.
Scheduled to launch later this year, the Disney+ streamig service will be "the online home of a library of more than 5,000 hours of the studio’s films and TV programs...The service will also be the exclusive streaming home of upcoming theatrical releases like “Avengers: Endgame” and the “Aladdin” remake." There are also a number of original films and series in the works based on Disney properties, including: The Mandalorian: The first scripted live-action “Star Wars” series. Written and produced by Jon Favreau, cast includes Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito. In production. Untitled Rogue One Prequel: The adventures of Rebel spy Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) during the formative years of the Rebellion. For more information, check out Variety.com.
