  1. DC has released the official first look trailer for Season 2 of "Titans," which shows a quick recap of the first season. Season 2 will see new additions to the team. Among them are crime-fighting duo Hawk and Dove (played by Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly) who were first introduced in Season 1. Other teammates include Donna Troy aka Wonder Girl (Conor Leslie); Aqualad (Drew Van Acker) who was Aquaman's former sidekick and Conner Kent aka Superboy (Joshua Orpin). "Game of Thrones" actor Iain Glen is going to play an older, battle-weary Bruce Wayne aka Batman in the new season, which will revolve around the fan-favorite villain Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke (Esai Morales). In this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven and others.   3. Deadline is reporting that Good Girls Revolt star Genevieve Angelson is the latest addition for Season 2 of Titans, the super-team series on the DC Universe subscription streaming service. Angelson will be playing the character of Dr. Eve Watson, a research doctor with conflicted feelings about her recent work at Cadmus Laboratories, the genetic engineering hub known in DC Comics mythology as the birthplace of the clone called Superboy. The 2nd Season of Titans kicks off on Septembr 6th and includes Iain Glen (Game of Thrones) as Bruce Wayne, Esai Morales (NYPD Blue) as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke, Chelsea T. Zhang (Andi Mack) as Rose Wilson/Ravager, model Chella Man as Joseph Wilson, Natalie Gumede (Coronation Street) as Mercy Graves and Drew Van Acker (Pretty Little Liars) as Garth/Aqualad.
  4. After being captured and taken to a Conclave facility, Swamp Thing is experimented upon by Jason Woodrue, who makes an incredible discovery. Meanwhile, Abby and Liz track down the secret facility to free Swamp Thing. And Daniel Cassidy makes a fateful decision based on a possible future that the Phantom Stranger shows him.   5. DC Comics is reporting that Superman: Red Son will kick off next year’s three-movie lineup, which also includes an original Superman tale and a sequel to one of DC’s 2017 animated films. The seminal graphic novel by Mark Millar, Dave Johnson and Killian Plunkett that serves as the inspiration behind 2020’s first DC Universe Movie. Originally released in 2003, Superman: Red Son is set in the thick of the Cold War, which introduces us to a Superman who landed in the USSR during the 1950s and grows up to become a Soviet symbol that fights for the preservation of Stalin’s brand of communism. The release of Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, a follow-up to 2017’s successful Justice League Dark will be released in the Spring. One of DC’s few R-rated animated movies, Justice League Dark saw Batman helping to assemble a team of occult and magic-based heroes to combat a series of supernatural attacks. The 2020 DC Universe Movie slate will then wrap up with a standalone film called Superman: Man of Tomorrow, making this the first time two Superman-centered DC Universe Movies will be released in the same year. The fully original story featuring a young Superman early in his career. No additional details on what we can expect from this one, including who the villain or villains of the movie may be and what other characters may appear alongside the Man of Steel.
  6. DC Universe premiered the new trailer for their upcoming adult animated comedy series Harley Quinn starring Kaley Cuoco in the title role as Gotham city’s favorite Queenpin. The pilot episode was shown during the DC Universe panel at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con as the animated series is set to premiere on DC Universe this fall. Cuoco joins a voice ensemble on Harley Quinn that includes Lake Bell (Childrens Hospital), Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Ron Funches (Powerless), J.B. Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Jason Alexander (Seinfeld), Wanda Sykes (Black-ish), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Natalie Morales (BoJack Horseman), Jim Rash (Mike Tyson Mysteries), Diedrich Bader (Veep), Tony Hale (Arrested Development) and Chris Meloni (Law & Order: SVU). Doom Patrol will be returning for a second season on DC Universe via a deal with HBO Max, WarnerMedia’s forthcoming streaming service. New original episodes of the series will debut in 2020. Additionally, upon the spring 2020 launch of HBO Max, all 15 episodes of Doom Patrol season one will be available for streaming.   7. Sad news to report from the entertainment world of the death of Warren Appleby, special effects coordinator for the DC Universe series Titans. Production has been shut down on the set of the DC Universe series after Appleby was killed in an accident today at a special effects facility. "after an accident which occurred at a special effects facility during the preparation and testing for an upcoming shoot,” according to a statement by the show’s executive producers, Warner Bros Television Group and the DC Universe streaming service. “We are heartbroken and devastated by the passing of our treasured colleague, special effects coordinator Warren Appleby, after an accident which occurred at a special effects facility during the preparation and testing for an upcoming shoot,’ the Warner Bros statement read. “Warren is beloved by all who worked with him during an impressive 25-year career in television and motion pictures. The executive producers, along with everyone in the TITANS family, Warner Bros. Television Group and DC UNIVERSE, wish to express our deepest condolences, and heartfelt love and support, to Warren’s family and friends at this most difficult time.” Titans premiered October 12th on Warner Bros’ newly launched streaming platform. The live-action drama series, a gritty take on the Teen Titans franchise, stars Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, Minka Kelly and Alan Ritchson as a group of young heroes as they come of age and find belonging.   15. Haunted by the ghost of her childhood friend who reemerges from the swamp, Abby’s forced to confront both her past with the Sunderlands as well as the dark forces at play in Marais. While she continues to search for a cure for Alec, he struggles to come to terms with his transformation with the help of a mysterious Phantom Stranger (recurring guest star MACON BLAIR). When Abby’s life is threatened, Swamp Thing is able to use his abilities to save her, but it’s Matt, ultimately, who saves the day – further isolating Swamp Thing from the human world.   18. The newest character to be added to the second season of DC Universe's Titans will be Aqualad. The character was announced by actor Drew Van Acker from his Instagram post and confirmed by TV Insider. The official character description, Garth is a founding member of the Titans and was Aquaman's eager sidekick known as Aqualad. Also born in Atlantis and a member of the royal court, young Garth was trained by Aquaman as a protector of life above and below the ocean. He would eventually step out from the shadow of his mentor to become his own hero as a Titan along with many other former sidekicks.

  20. UPDATE: TVLine is reporting that an accounting error regarding the series’ North Carolina tax rebate may have led to the series’ cancellation. No official reason has been given but the new series Swamp Thing has not be picked up for a second season. The drama series was based on the DC characters created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson and premiered on May 31st on the DC digital service, DC Universe. Sources are claiming that the new leadership of WarnerMedia was not particularly high on Swamp Thing whose order was reduced from 13 to 10 episodes in April. The cancellation comes just one episode into the show’s run. The series was written by Mark Verheiden and It co-writer Gary Dauberman, Swamp Thing centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane (Crystal Reed). When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland (Andy Bean) — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all. While Sheriff Lucilia Cable (Jennifer Beals) searches for Alec unsuccessfully, Abby theorizes that it was more than an accident and retrieves his video journals from Daniel Cassidy (special guest star Ian Ziering). When one of her patients, Susie Coyle (guest star Elle Graham), escapes from the hospital, Abby and Matt follow her into the swamp. There, Abby encounters Swamp Thing – a creature that Susie later identifies as Alec Holland. While Alec struggles to understand his metamorphosis into the monstrous, plant-based creature, known as Swamp Thing, Avery meets with Jason Woodrue (Kevin Durand), the scientist who initially developed the biological accelerant responsible for the “green flu” and orders him to halt the epidemic.
