Jonathan van Tulleken has been selected to direct and oversee the production of the initial two episodes of Prime Video's Blade Runner 2099, a highly anticipated limited series. Tulleken has taken over from Jeremy Podeswa, who was originally slated to direct but had to step aside due to scheduling conflicts caused by the WGA strike. The filming for Blade Runner 2099 is scheduled to commence in April. This limited series is a collaboration between Alcon Entertainment and Scott Free Productions, with Ridley Scott, the director of the original 1982 Blade Runner film, serving as the executive producer. Blade Runner 2099 is a sequel to the 2017 movie Blade Runner 2049. Silka Luisa is the writer, executive producer, and showrunner for this live-action series. Michael Green, the writer of Blade Runner 2049, is also involved as a non-writing executive producer, alongside Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson, the co-founders of Alcon, Ben Roberts, the head of television at Alcon, David W. Zucker and Clayton Krueger from Scott Free, Cynthia Yorkin, Frank Giustra, and Isa Dick Hackett. Additionally, Tom Spezialy, who was part of the show's writing team, and Richard Sharkey serve as executive producers. Source: Deadline
