  2. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! Just in time for Hallowe...Christmas, this week, we're looking at the Zombie Captain America figure from the 'What If?' TV series, from the Marvel Legends line from Hasbro. BigBadToyStore finally had it in store and I couldn't wait to pick up my Pile of Loot once it arrived in it. Look at it coming straight out of its packaging! First impression, that figue looks pretty amazing! That new sculpt with the holes in the legs, the exposed ribs, and the blue-ish flesh color looks spectacular and that figure might definitely have a place in a lot of collector's top 10 lists this year. Articulation-wise, it is your standard Marvel Legends figure, with double knees, double elbows, ab-crunch, etc... It is also 'pinless', aka we don't see the articulation 'pins', for a nice seamless finish on the arms and legs. The 'What if' episode with the zombies was one of my favorites, and I hope we'll see more zombie versions of Marvel superheroes down the line (I imagine a straight-up adaptation of the Marvel Zombies comic books from 2005 to the big screen will probably never happen, but at least we got to see a version of it in the MCU via 'What if'). OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! 'Cause this is thriller, thriller night... More news at 11:00... Braaaaaiiiinssss!
  3. 2017's Justice League director Zack Snyder will be returning to direct Army of the Dead, a zombie horror thriller, for Netflix, after stepping away two years ago with a family tragedy. Snyder and his partner and wife, Deborah Snyder, will produce through their newly rebranded production company, Stone Quarry. Wesley Coller is also producing. Snyder came up with the movie plot about an adventure set amid a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, during which a man assembles a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted. The script is being handled by Joby Harold. The project was first set up in 2007 over at Warner Bros. but has since been taken over by Netflix. Shooting for the movie is set to begin this summer with a budget that can reach $90 million dollar range. "There are no handcuffs on me at all with this one,” Snyder told sources in an interview. In 2017, during postproduction on Justice League, Snyder's daughter committed suicide. Both of the Snyders decided to step away from the movie, letting Joss Whedon film reshoots and finish postproduction. Within the next two years, both has been focusing on family, working with suicide awareness causes, and a regrouping of the company. “I thought this was a good palate cleanser to really dig in with both hands and make something fun and epic and crazy and bonkers in the best possible way,” he says. "This is the opportunity to find a purely joyful way to express myself though a genre. It will be the most kick-ass, self-aware — but not in a wink-to-the-camera way — balls-to-the-wall zombie freakshow that anyone has ever seen. No one’s ever let me completely loose [like this].” Snyder says he's been energized by the prospect of making this particular story. “I love big action, I love big sequences," he says. "My movie brain starts clicking around and I was like, ‘We need to be shooting this now!’ Constructing these sequences really fired me up.” Source: THR
  4. Halloween is merely a week away and I finally get to do something Halloween and wrestling related. Mattel and WWE have been doing some fun stuff with their Zombies line and who better to review than the Demon king himself, Finn Balor! Thank you to Mattel for the review sample. Zombie Finn Balor comes packaged in a slight redesign of the zombie packaging that has become a stable of the series. It seems a bit more streamlined than the previous packaging and, I feel, a bit more eye-catching. The Zombie line has been a fun and creative use of wrestlers. It's fun to take them out of the standard wrestling world and venture into the absurd and wacky world that toys are meant to be. To take it even further, I'd love to see a comic or animated series of wrestlers as zombies and monsters. Finn is a great wrestler to be used in this way since he does sport demon makeup at times, making the leap into a zombie is completely an obvious choice. The articulation is beyond standard with elbows, hips, "neck bones", shoulders, and knee articulation, but the play factor escalates with the look of this figure. Whoever is sculpting these figures, please give them an award. So creative and so much fun. This figure isn't for the regular wrestling fans seeking the highest points of articulation and most realistic sculpts of their favorite superstars. This is for another subset of collector and casual fan. We already know fans of horror and Halloween who are buying the zombie series to use during their decorations of the coolest holiday ever! Adding Finn to anyones collection is a must. He would fit in anyones horror or fantasy collection. As a toy, it is 100% fun and imaginative, but if you are seeking something more than just a monster looking creepy zombie figure, this probably isn't the toy for you. With that, I am giving this toy a 3 out of 5. Well sculpted and looks great but won't be something that all fans want to have. Guys let us know what you think and leave a comment below Follow Rob on Instagram @alternativemindz And on Twitter @AltMindz Thanks again to Mattel for the review sample
