  1. It's morphin' time! Hasbro is bringing the fun with the new 2019 edition of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Lightning Collection action figures! As a massive fan of the hit 90's TV shows and movie franchise these are the action figures you always envisioned but never really got until now! Having seen prototype photos in the months leading up to its eventual release only hyped me up. Photos do not do these justice. You get so much insane amount of detail for a $20 price point. Having owned various ranger toy lines over the years, a lot of details were sorely missing. Even recently with the Bandai the Legacy Collection was cool for what it was, but did not feel like the definitive ranger action figure. The scale is perfect with this upon taking out of its super cool and detailed box. The white ranger helmet feels in proportion to its body. With the past ranger releases from other toy makers, it felt like the helmet heads were either too big or too small. The body type feels right on this holding it in hand! The rangers were always slim. Rangers in their suits never had abs or muscles bulging out. The suit on the white ranger has this small wrinkles on the fabric to give the illusion of Tommy wearing a fabric suit. The color choice of the gold in particular feels a lot more TV show accurate than past white ranger figures in the past. One cool detail, is the white ranger shield. I really enjoy how its made of a soft plastic and can move along in various positions and poses while in action. This does not feel like it will break or snap if you pose the arm the wrong way. Great little detail by Hasbro. I also particularly like how the belt and the holster for Saba is all one piece and how the holster is non removable. It was such a nuisance having to constantly reattach the holster and losing them on occasion when posing the rangers with the Legacy collection in the past. Having owned the Figuarts Power Rangers in the past, these feel more in line with those ranger releases. The only negative drawback was the outrageous price point of the Figuarts. For only $20 with Hasbro's Lightning Collection, it feels like a no brainer to grab these figures! You get tons of accessories which make the entire nostalgic experience that much cooler! The best part is that you get an added interchangeable teen Tommy Oliver head! I was sold on that part alone back when I saw the original prototype photos online. The head sits a little high for my liking on the teen head, and it is a bit small, but its nothing to scoff at considering how much detail and likeness it is to Tommy! You also get his trusted companion Saba. Saba has cool black detailing on the back of its head, which is a super nice touch! Saba also sits snug in his holster and won't pop out. You also have two closed fists, one hand that does a karate chop pose, and an open hand for holding Saba. One drawback is inserting Saba into Tommy's hand. I almost had to bend back his thumb in order to hold the sword. It almost feels like it will snap off if I move it too hard. Another drawback would have to be the long peg in the extra hands. It feels like changing the hands too often will cause one of those long pegs to snap off. I left mine as is, as I was afraid to mess with it too much. The articulation is insane! The get a full rotation in the head, and side to side movement. Double jointed elbows, full rotation of the arms, a sweet butterfly joint allowing the arms to be pulled back for awesome posing! You get full rotation in the wrists, and also a front and back motion in the wrists as well, you get side to side motion in the upper torso, and you get front to back motion in the bottom torso as well! The legs have articulation that allow for very high kicks. You get a very large range of motion in the legs compared to past ranger figures in the past. You get articulation in the boots, and ankles. I am beyond excited for this new line. I will certainly be picking up the rest of the team and the new villains! Fingers crossed we also get similar figures from Power Rangers Zeo, and Turbo down the line! I give this release a rating of 9.5/10

  3. Thank you to Mattel for sending us out this review sample! Spotlight please! The artist, the Mozart of melody is here on Rusev Day in Mattel's WWE Elite series 65. This is the regular, non chase attire release. The face scan features the new TrueFx technology which allows a much closer representation than the tech they used to use before. This scan is quite spot on. It has the receding hairline, wrinkles on his face, and patchy beard alone the jawline. The beard is not perfect and full in real life, and Mattel's has captured that detail quite well. The skin tone has that pale, white color and is very much true to life. This figure release has numerous accessories. As a collector, we love it and appreciate when toy makers include accessories that can add a sense or realism to our figures. This comes with a plastic scarf, with white accents. It also comes with a soft good, cloth plain black robe. A WWE microphone also comes in the box to sing his way to ringside. You get two sets of removable hands. The best hand, I believe, is the artistic pose when singing or announcing! You also get two closed fists. The tights are plain black tights with no design. A small detail is the painted on brown belt with silver belt buckle. It would have been cool if the belt would have been molded instead of a painted design. English is wearing plain black laced boots with silver buckles accents on the side. You get articulation at the head, shoulders, arms, wrists, mid torso section, waist, legs, knees, boots, and ankles. While this figure is awesome, there is one drawback, the scale is off compared to Rusev and Lana. Aiden English is 6'3 in real life. Rusev is 6'0 so their action figure counterparts should reflect that. Aiden English should not be shorter than Rusev. Hopefully Mattel fixes that in future elite releases. Being a huge Rusev Day fan while they were together on Smackdown Live, I would still recommend grabbing this figure if you comes across it, even with the small area of improvement I mentioned earlier. I would rate this a 7/10. Once again, a massive thank you to Mattel for sending us out this review sample! Its very much appreciated!
  4. Big thanks to Mattel for sending us out this review sample! The Shakespeare of song, the songbird of our generation is here to grace us with his presence on RUSEV DAY! This is the Mattel Elite series 65 Aiden English chase figure. A big smile came to my face when I realized that English would be getting an elite figure, and it certainly did not disappoint. His face scan has that pompous look that only the artist can give. The new True FX face scan technology really captures his look. I really appreciate his beard on this figure. His beard isn't that full and comes in patches in real life, and I feel Mattel really delivered on that aspect. His skin is very accurate and has that pale, milky white skin tone. Mattel really steps it up this year when it comes to extras and accessories! You get the plastic plain black scarf, soft goods cloth black robe, hipster style black sunglasses, and a WWE microphone. His body type has a slim, yet defined look. He is not very muscular on TV as say an EC3, but he is very toned and athletic, and it comes across well in action figure form! He is wearing black tights with an abstract shimmering gold, white, and pink accents design on the left pant leg. English is wearing the mid cut black boots with painted on silver buckles on the side. He also is wearing a painted on shimmering gold belt with a silver belt buckle. You get the artistic style removable hand, a gripping hand, and two closed fists. All are great for recreating matches during his run with Rusev on Smackdown Live. As with other elite action figures you get articulation in the head, shoulder, arms, elbows, wrists, waist, mid torso, legs, knees, boots, and ankles. One major detail that I would have changed is the scale. Upon reviewing several images and video footage as reference, Aiden English is taller than both Rusev and Lana. But in figure form, both Lana and Rusev are taller than English. Being a collector, I like to have a full roster in action figure form, and certainly could not pass up the opportunity to own an Aiden English elite to complete my Rusev Day trio! I believe the positive outweighs the negative on this figure release, and appreciate the strong effort on Mattel's part. I would rate this a 7/10 Thank you once again to Mattel for this very generous review sample!
