  1. The CW announced today that their superhero drama Black Lightning will end with the upcoming fourth season. This announcement comes after the network announced that a planted spinoff of the series titled Painkiller, with Jordan Calloway reprising his role as the titular character. The series is being written, directed and executive produced by Salim Akil, who also has been the driving creative force behind Black Lightning as executive producer/showrunner.

  3. The CW is developing a backdoor pilot around the Painkiller character from the Black Lightning series. The pilot is being written, directed and executive produced by the Black Lightning showrunner Salim Akil. The planted pilot will air as the seventh episode of Black Lightning’s fourth season, which will premiere in February 2021. The Painkiller spinoff is from Warner Bros Television.   5. Warner Bros. Television has released first look photos of the re-designed suit for new Batwoman Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) in Batwoman Season 2. The redesigned Batsuit was conceptualized by Batwoman costume designer Maya Mani and created by Ocean Drive Leather, the wig created by Janice Workman and makeup styled by Cory Roberts. Notable changes include: A new cowl featuring natural, curly hair with red streaks, red gauntlets over the forearms, and shorter boots. A redesign with new materials, featuring laser etching to create more visual depth and a stronger silhouette.
