  1. It's Wednesday and you know what that means, ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Red Pyramid Thing from Silent Hill 2, from the One:12 Collective line by Mezco. Also known as "Pyramid Head", the Red Pyramid Thing is a big humanoid monster that torments you in the 2001 video game Silent Hill 2. He has always been one of my favorite video game characters, so I was glad to get a Mezco version of it. Sadly, not a homerun for me. The Red Pyramid Thing is the embodiement of James Sunderland's guilt and desire to be punished in the video game. It appears on several occasions in the game, looks huge, creepy and is sure to scare the heck out of you. He also appears in the movie adaptations of Silent Hill, and has one of the most brutal horror scenes in the first movie (which is the good one, the second is quite bad). The figures comes in a sober Mezco box, as they always do (and nobody is giving crap to Mezco about having WiNdOwLeSs packaging, somehow). There are 3 layers of inserts in the box, the figure and some accessories, the mannequin and the rest of the accessories and stand. The Red Pyramid Thing comes with an extra head, 5 extra pairs of hands, a mannequin figure, his Great Knife, his Great Spear, 6 different blood splatter effects (including some for the Great Knife and Great Spear), 9 little creepers (bugs) and the usual Mezco stand. The second head seems to be inspired by the design from the movies or the game Silent Hill: Homecoming, where the Pyramid looks more 'mechanical', with bolts and different textures to it. To my knowledge, it's a Mezco design. My first impression is that he's a bit small... The character towers over James in the game and is super tall in the movie, but this figure feels a bit tiny. Bigger than the Figma one, at least. The proportions are a bit strange, in classic Mezco fashion. The 'head' seems a bit too big, and too low on the shoulders. Also, he looks a bit too thin for me (maybe because of the big head?). The tailoring is nice, but it looks like we caught him on a day when he did his laundry. His butcher apron is not dirty or torn enough. Other figures/statue of this character usually have a greyer, dirtier look. Great details on the sculpt (and the inside of it). I'm glad to have it, but he could have been slightly better. BONUS: Mezco Silent Hill 2 5 Points Deluxe Boxed Set I also grabbed the '5 points' set that Mezco released a few months ago, which includes 2 mini figures with minimal articulations. The 3.75" figures are nice and have great details, and come with a little diorama cardboard piece that has 2 sides. The Red Pyramid Thing has an extra arm, his Great Knife and Great Spear, and the Bubble Head nurse has an extra arm and a pipe. A fun little set to display next to other Silent Hill 2 items. More news at 11:00... In my restless dreams, I see that town... Silent Hill.
  2. The gruesome headsman, Red Pyramid Thing, slashes his way through the One:12 Collective! The One:12 Collective Red Pyramid Thing is outfitted in a weathered smock as seen in Silent Hill 2, and two interchangeable helmets. Silent Hill’s executioner comes complete with the tools of his macabre trade, including the Great Spear and Great Sword with blood splatter FX that attach to both weapons. The nightmare doesn’t end there – a Mannequin is included as well as a slew of Creepers. Red Pyramid Thing has become the most well-known monster in the Silent Hill franchise. As the manifestation of James Sunderland's desire for punishment, the Red Pyramid Thing exists to remind James of his past actions and the included signature weapons are instruments of James’ inner torment. THE ONE:12 COLLECTIVE RED PYRAMID THING FIGURE FEATURES: One:12 Collective body with over 20 points of articulation Two (2) head portraits Hand painted authentic detailing Approximately 17cm tall Twelve (12) interchangeable hands One (1) pair of fists (L&R) Three (3) pairs of holding hands (L&R) Three (3) pairs of posing hands (L&R) COSTUME: Weathered smock Stained under garment Combat boots Gloves ACCESSORIES: One (1) Mannequin One (1) Great Sword One (1) Great Spear One (1) blood splatter FX for Great Spear One (1) blood splatter FX for Great Knife One (1) blood splatter FX for body Three (3) miscellaneous blood splatter FX Nine (9) assorted Creepers One (1) One:12 Collective display base with logo One (1) One:12 Collective adjustable display post Each One:12 Collective Silent Hill 2: Red Pyramid Thing figure is packaged in a collector friendly box, designed with collectors in mind. 3. our worst nightmare personified, the Bubble Head Nurse from Silent Hill 2 joins the LDD Presents line! Lurking around every corner of Brookhaven Hospital, the Bubble Head nurse is a manifestation of James Sunderland’s subconscious. Her swollen head and spastic movements echo the murder of his wife. Fairly aggressive in nature, this shrieking and gurgling monster is every night terror you’ve ever had… The Bubble Head Nurse features an all-new head sculpt depicting the humanoid’s grotesque appearance and is outfitted in a nurse’s uniform. LDD Presents Silent Hill 2: Bubble Head Nurse stands 10” tall and features 5 points of articulation. She is packaged in a window box, perfect for display.
