  1. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the 3 latest Spy X Family figures from S.H.Figuarts. Spy X Family is a very popular manga/anime about a family who all have secrets: the father, Loid Forger, is an international spy who has to pretend to have a family for a mission, and ends up unknowingly adopting Anya, who's a telepath and can read minds, and "marrying" Yor, who's an elite assassin. A really fun anime, and I'm glad they did the alternate outfits for all figures. Loid Forger (Father of the Forger Family) is the 'civilian' look of Loid, when he's not on important missions and pretending to have a nice family. The figure comes with 3 different head/hair parts for different looks (one has the mask he uses when he plays 'bandit' with Anya, 5 different face plates, lots of extra hands, a newspaper, and a 'crossed arms' attachement for when it's time to be serious. A very fun figure, which compliment very well the previous Loid, in his spy outfit. Yor Forger (Mother of the Forger Family) is also the civilian look of Yor, when she's not busy assassinating targets (it's a weird family...). She has that classic red wool dress look from the series. She also comes with different head/hair parts (tied up hair or loose hair), 5 different face plates (including drunk Yor!), several hands, a different waist/legs piece so that she can sit down (ingenious!), a bottle of wine with a glass, with 2 different little 'wine' parts to put in the glass, to show that she had a sip or not (this is WILD!) . Just like the previous figure (in assassin outfit), she is quite difficult to pose because of her high heels preventing her from standing up, but it's manageable. A lot of fun technology with that figure, though, with the sitting legs and wine level thingies. Finally, Bond, the dog adopted for Anya, which comes with a special Anya that can sit down. Of course, this dog also had something special: he had been experimented on, and can see a few seconds into the future, which comes very handy when the family is in danger. The dog comes with a stand, and additional legs so that he can be in a sitting down pose. The extra Anya has 6 extra hands. Bond is a fun character in the show, and it's great to have him as a figure. His mouth is articulated, and he has a decent range of movement on the neck. More news at 11:00... Waku waku?!
  2. It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Power and Samurai Sword (aka Katana Man) from the Chainsaw Man line from Bandai S.H. Figuarts. The first figure from that line, the Chainsaw Man himself, was a ridiculously good figure, so how did other characters do? Well, they're just as fun to play with! Power, the fiend form of the Blood Devil, comes with a total of five different faceplates, 6 pairs of hands, her cat, and blood weapons in the form of 2 knives, a normal sized hammer and a giant hammer. Power can manipulate blood and put it in the shape of weapons, hence the weapons being bright red (yep, another completely absurd power from the manga/anime). She has a ton of articulations, and is fun to move around. My only nitpick is the top of her jacket, which is rolled over her shoulders, so they added the top parts of the jacket as a separate, articulated part, which sometimes is a bit in the way, or doesn't move as you would want it to. Otherwise, another 'hand candy' figure! Samurai Sword (aka Katana Man), is another ridiculous design from Chainsaw Man. His face is a katana, and he has katanas coming out of his arms. He is one of the first antagonists to have similar powers (aka turn into a living weapon). He comes with an extra head sculpt(screaming) and 2 extra pairs of hands, which is similar to what Denji came with. I thought his long jacket was going to be in the way of articulations, but it turns out it's not, as it is 'softer' plastic. The headsculpt is a bit tricky to change, as you need to remove the entire head, then switch the blade and the hat on the other figure, and the blade can stay a bit stuck. I did not manage to cut myself with it, though! A fun figure to display fighting Denji. More news at 11:00... "Grovel, human!! My name is Power!"
  3. It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce reviews! This week, we're having a look at the brand new Buzz Lightyear figure from the 2022 movie 'Lightyear', by Bandai S.H.Figuarts. And right off the bat, what a figure! It's the Buzz Lightyear we've always dreamed about. Realistic looking, highly detailed, hyper articulated, tons of accessories,... You don't even need to be familiar with the new movie to love that figure, it's just the perfect Buzz Lightyear. Buzz comes with 2 headscults (with and without his purple hood, with a slight smirk), 3 extra pair of hands, his glass dome (and parts to add when you display him without it), a blaster gun with holster piece to attach to his leg, his sword weapon with a part to attach it to his back, a laser gauntlet, and his jetpack, with different wing parts to attach to it (open or closed). Talk about different options to display that figure! You got 3 different weapons, 2 heads, a jetpack that can have wings in or out, ... In terms of articulations, it's your usual S.H.Figuarts product. Double everything and swivels and whatnot. The chest armor part does hinder the ab articulation a bit, but nobody was going to display Buzz doing crunches or touching his toes. The shoulder parts are pretty ingenious, they have an extra part that 'hides' the articulations. The parts are easy to change, and it comes with instructions for those who might still need them (don't laugh, there are some). It says in the instructions that the purple from the hood on the headscults might leave marks on the other parts, but I didn't have any issue like that with it and i kept changing the head. My only with the headsculpts is that the neck part is attached to it, so I cannot just put the Marvel Legends The Hood head on it instead, since it looks like he has no neck (or that someone his tickling his neck). *Mexican Buzz Lightyear not included. More news at 11:00... To Infinity and Beyond!
  4. It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce reviews! This week, we're having a look at the Bojji and Kagge figures from Ranking of Kings by Bandai Spirits/S.H. Figuarts/Tamashii Nations/whatever they are called this week! Ranking of Kings is a fantastic anime with beautiful animation (reminds me of early Ghibli movies), a great story, nice characters with depth, and a lovely soundtrack (both opening and ending theme are so good). Can you tell I liked it? If you haven't seen it, do try to watch it. I didn't get into it right away, but as soon as I started watching, I knew I would need a plastic representation of Bojji on one of my shelves. The options were either a Banpresto mini statue, a Good Smile Nendoroid figure that comes out in November, or a nice, articulated S.H.Figuarts figure. The choice was easy... Prince Bojji, along with Kagge, comes with 5 different head plates, 7 extra hands, his green cape, his training stick, a sheath and his trusty rapier. The figure has a good amount of articulations, considering his size (tiny), and he's surprisingly easy to balance, even with his big head that I thought would make him 'top heavy'. The facial expressions are great, and allow for lots of different poses and situations. I would say that the white on the eyes could have been more white, though. Also, the head without faceplate is pure nightmare fuel.. Kagge could have also used maybe one ball joint for the mouth/arm, or the possiblity to remove it. Otherwise, a solid set! Hopefully, Bandai does more characters from the show, who has plenty of great designs to choose from. More news at 11:00... AaeeAeuu EeAawua!
  5. First things first, ToyFarce and Toy News International hope you all had a merry christmas and happy holidays. We are now in that period between Christmas and New Year's Eve when everything is kind of a blur. What day is it? Did I shower today? Who knows?! Unfortunately for some collectors, we have received lots of messages about Christmas disappointments. One of the messages that we felt the most for was from Ryan, a fellow toy collector who wanted a MAFEX Avengers: Endgame Iron Spider... only to see Santa bring him a S.H. Figuarts Avengers: Endgame Iron Spider. His reaction below: "I wrote it very clearly on my letter to Santa! I wanted the MAFEX one, not the S.H.Figuarts one! This is B.S.! All my other MCU figures are from MAFEX, so I obviously cannot display the S.H. Figuarts with them! And I'm gonna have to buy all the other S.H.Figuarts figures from the MCU since I got this one... There's no other way, now. Not cool, Santa. Not cool!" As long as Santa didn't manage to confuse a Hot Toys figure with a Funko Pop one, we should be good. How about you? Did you get anything you didn't order from Santa? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... "Not cool, Santa. Not cool!" *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
