The executive producer of Batwoman, Caroline Dries announced during the Batwoman panel that Burt Ward, the co-star of the Batman TV series from the ’60s, will be appearing on the show as part of the five-episode crossover event. “We’re currently working on the crossover,” said Dries. “We’ve got a ton, a ton, a ton of characters coming into the five-part event.” Burt Ward is another big name being added to the crossover as we reported yesterday that both Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh will be slipping on the tights to portray the Man of Steel, Superman in the CW's Crisis On Infinite Earths annual crossover event. 3. HBO decided not to have a Watchmen panel this year at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, but they do still have an official Comic-Con trailer. From Damon Lindelof and set in an alternate history where masked vigilantes are treated as outlaws, this drama series embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name while attempting to break new ground of its own. The ten-episode mystery-thriller series that's set to premiere in October, will take some creative liberties to tell an original story and will feature new superhero and vigilante characters. Featuring an original score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. The cast includes Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Hong Chau, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, James Wolk, Dustin Ingram, Lily Rose Smith and Adelynn Spoon.
  4. CBS All Access dropped a new trailer for Captain Jean-Luc Picard's very own stand-alone series, Star Trek: Picard today during their panel at 2019 San Diego Comic-Con. The Star Trek: Picard series follows the captain in the next chapter of his life. Sir Patrick Stewart plays the lead of Captain Jean-Luc Picard with Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd and newcomer Evan Evagora also star. Michael Chabon is credited as showrunner and executive producer along with Akiva Goldsman and Alex Kurtzman, Stewart, James Duff, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth. Producers and cast revealed that Picard will also feature fellow The Next Generation cast Brent Spiner, Jonathan Del Arco and Jonathan Frakes and Voyager‘s Jeri Ryan in the new series. The panel for Star Trek: Lower Decks begins... The CBS All Access animated comedy series takes a look at the support crew serving on one of Starfleet’s least important ships. The first season is set for a 10-episode run that will premiere in 2020. Executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin and show creator and executive producer Mike McMahan take the stage and introduce the voice cast of the series which included Tawny Newsome and Jack Quaid, who joined them on the stage. Newsome will play Mariner, a no-nonsense ensign who gets the job done. She’s good at what she does, but doesn’t care. Quaid will be playing Boimler, the by-the-book ensign who constantly gets in his own way. The two are polar opposites, so the pair clashes more often than not. Noel Wells will play ensign Tendi a huge Starfleet fan who is excited to be on a ship while Eugene Cordero will play ensign Rutherford, an engineer who is amazing at engineering stuff, but doesn’t usually solve the problem by the end of the episode. The cast also includes Fred Tatasciore as Lt. Shaxs, Dawnn Lewis as Captain Freeman, Gillian Vigman as Dr. T’ana. McMahan revealed a preview of the ship which is of a new California class and will be called the Cerritos. Source: Deadline

  6. There’s a new doctor in Central City, and he’s got everyone’s pulse racing! The addition of Heroes star Sendhil Ramamurthy in the recurring role of DC villain Bloodwork on The Flash was revealed by cast and producers at the show’s 2019 Comic-Con panel on Saturday, July 20th. Ramamurthy has signed on to season six as Dr. Ramsey Rosso, a brilliant physician with a genius intellect, and the world’s leading expert on hematological oncology. A former colleague of S.T.A.R. Labs’ Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Rosso rekindles their friendship after they are reunited by an unexpected event. But their longtime bond is quickly shattered when the doctor’s desire to defy the laws of nature takes him down a dark path…one that transforms Rosso from an old friend into the most chilling villain Team Flash has ever faced: the monstrous Bloodwork. In addition to his starring role on Heroes and Heroes Reborn as Comic-Con fan-favorite Dr. Mohinder Suresh, Ramamurthy has had recurring roles on New Amsterdam, Reverie, Covert Affairs and The Office, among numerous other roles in film, television and theatre. The Flash returns for season six on Tuesday, October 8th, at 8/7c on The CW. Based on the DC characters, the series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Eric Wallace. The Flash is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
  7. Once again, Supergirl landed at Comic-Con with another superpowered panel filled with surprises and reveals about the eagerly awaited upcoming season. Perhaps most striking for fans is that the character of Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl (played by Melissa Benoist) will be sporting a new Kryptonian supersuit — the first revamp since her co-worker, friend, and confidante Winn Schott designed her iconic red and blue gear in season one. And two new characters will also be on the scene in National City this season. NEW SUPERSUIT The new suit, conceptualized by Supergirl costume designer Victoria Auth and created by Ironhead Studios and Bill Hargates Costumes, follows the evolution of supersuits in executive producer Greg Berlanti’s “Arrowverse,” which has seen redesigns of both the Arrow and Flash suits in recent years. Regarding Kara’s new look, executive producers Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner said: “We’re beyond excited to update Supergirl’s iconic suit. We think her new image is strong and powerful. We hope the fans are as excited about it as we are.” NEW CHARACTERS AND SERIES REGULARS In addition to the first official unveiling of the new Supergirl supersuit, the show’s producers announced that two new characters will be joining the action in National City for the upcoming season: DC’s Andrea Rojas (aka Acrata) and renowned reporter William Dey. Julie Gonzalo (Veronica Mars, Dallas, Eli Stone) will star as iconic DC character Andrea Rojas (aka Acrata). A polished businesswoman and heir to a Central American tech empire, Andrea Rojas (aka Acrata) is now making a hostile advance into the world of media. Unapologetic and unafraid to make waves, she also holds a mystical secret. Gonzalo will first appear as Rojas in the season premiere on Sunday, October 6th, at 9/8c on The CW. UK-based actor Staz Nair — who is perhaps best known for playing Qhono, a Dothraki warrior loyal to Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones — will play hardened reporter William Dey, an original character created for the series. On the surface, he’s a cynic and a sellout who looks down on Kara’s earnest idealism. Dey’s not interested in making friends, he just wants to get the story — but his ties to the criminal underworld could prove problematic. Nair (Game of Thrones, FOX’s The Rocky Horror Picture Show, AMC’s Humans) as William Dey will also make his debut during the season premiere episode. Supergirl returns for its fifth season on Sunday, October 6th, at 9/8c on The CW. Produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and based on DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers/Supergirl, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor, Jesse Rath as Brainiac, Nicole Maines as Nia Nal, Azie Tesfai as Kelly Olsen, Andrea Brooks as Eve Tessmacher, with David Harewood as J’onn J’onzz. Greg Berlanti, Jessica Queller, Robert Rovner and Sarah Schechter are executive producers.

  10. On the last day of the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and the cast of Riverdale; KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, and Madelaine Petsch announced a tribute episode will air for the late Luke Perry. The episode, titled “Chapter Fifty-Eight: In Memoriam,” will “reflect Luke Perry’s enduring legacy and the indelible imprint his character, Fred Andrews, had on Riverdale,” according to the official logline. Appearing in the episode will include Perry's longtime friend and Beverly Hills 90210 co-star, Shannen Doherty. Perry had been wanting her to make a guest appearance on the show, even before Perry's death. The role Doherty will be playing was not mentioned. “They were such good friends, and when we were putting together this tribute episode, we wanted to make it as special as possible, and so we asked Shannen to do a pivotal, super-emotional role,” Aguirre-Sacasa said. “She read the script and immediately said ‘yes.’ It’s very impactful.” In addition, Kerr Smith has been cast in a recurring role as Riverdale High’s new principal, Mr. Honey. The character is described as “a bit of a hard-ass who takes a harder line with the students this year, especially with the seniors.” He will first appear in Episode 2, titled “Chapter Fifty-Nine: Fast Times at Riverdale High.” Source: TVLine

  13. Deadline is reporting that David Ajala is a new series regular on the CBS All Access' Star Trek: Discovery for the upcoming third season. His character, Cleveland Booker (aka Book), is described as smart, capable and has a natural charisma and devil-may-care attitude that tends to get him into trouble as often as it gets him out. Ajala was introduced by creator Alex Kurtzman on Saturday during the Star Trek Universe panel at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, along with Discovery star Sonequa Martin-Green and executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Michelle Paradise and Heather Kadin. Kurtzman also promised new characters in season 3, but wouldn't reveal who. Kurtzman also announced that season 3 “will take place 1,000 years in the future” after the end of season 2. “The farthest that any Star Trek series has gone before.” At the end of season 2, Discovery heads into a time warp, and when they come out of the worm hole, Michael Burnham and her crew will be separated, and not in the same place. “They have big problems,” said Kurtzman. Season 3 was shot in Iceland. “We are not in Taralesium,” said Burnham actress Sonequa Martin-Green. Kurtzman said that who becomes Captain of Discovery will be revealed in season 3. Kurtzman said that Burnham “goes through a lot of changes,” and she bears the big responsibility of taking the Discovery crew through a wormhole.

  15. Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con opened with the Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media panel previewing Terminator: Dark Fate with appearances by Terminator stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton. Terminator producer James Cameron started the panel with a stream session from the green-screen factory at his offices at Lightstorm Entertainment in Santa Monica from the Avatar 2,3 and 4 set. Cameron told Hall H that he emailed Linda Hamilton about the new Terminator movie and explained why she should and why she shouldn’t do the sequel. “The key point was that people love you in this character (Sarah Connor). They love this character. The fans just want to know what’s she like now. What’s her life been like in the mean time? Is she still fighting the machines?” Cameron then surprised Hall H and revealed that Edward Furlong was returning to the franchise to play John Connor. Furlong originally played Conner, the son of Linda Hamilton’s Sarah, in 1991’s sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day in his first screen role. This will return him to the role for the first time since. Camerons streaming session comes to an end and a sizzle behind-the-scenes reel played with director Tim Miller and Hamilton talking about bringing Connor back. Hamilton said she didn’t have to come back, but was intrigued “by time” and the passage of it with Sarah’s character. “There was a world of richness that I could explore and then rock it at a certain age.” Hamilton trained for a year prior to filming. “The richness of my life experience will only enrich the character that I will play,” said the actress, who promised fans that her hard work off set props up Sarah’s backstory, which will come through in the performance. “I had to go to places of deepest loss, and that’s what makes Sarah Connor, Sarah Connor.” Miller finished up with announcing that the movie will be rated R. “DNA of Terminator is an R-rated movie. It would be disingenuous to do so, it’s what the fans wanted,” said Miller. Source: Deadline

Now with the series final episode aired on May 19th, the cast will be able to speak freely about who lived and who died and what they liked and didn't like about the show.
