  1. Well, The 2023 edition of San Diego Comic Con is now over, and it kinda left us with a huge hole in our wallets, but also in our souls, didn't it? So many good toys, fun reveals, great panels... Whether you were there in person, or just following it via Youtube and social media, this year really did feel special. But how to go back to normal everyday life after this? Here is how you can deal with the 'Post Comic Con Blues'. MEDITATION: I know, I know. Some of you don't really do that kind of things. But picture this: Sit down and close your eyes, and visualize yourself walking through the aisles of the Comic Con. Stop at your favorite booth and just browse the shelves in your mind. Think of it as a 'go to your happy place' kind of thing, but with the NECA, Hasbro, Mondo, or any other of the SDCC booths as your happy place! YOUTUBE: There is a ton of great content that came out of SDCC in the last 4 days. Go to your favorite Youtuber (or Toytuber)'s channel, sit back and enjoy looking at things again, through a different person's eyes. Also, why not try some other channels suggestions on the side? You might find some nice new channel, or see stuff that you didn't see in other videos. How about those The Last Ronin ghosts hidden in NECA's Street Diorama at their booth? Or the teases during the Marvel Legends panel? BUY TOYS: And of course, last but not least: Buy toys! Only a small amount of the things that were revealed during SDCC is already available for pre-order, but it could be smart to make a list of all the things that were revealed that you would like to buy, just to keep track of them and be ready for when they actually drop. You can also come back to that list next year, to see what actually came out and what has been discreetly cancelled... (tons of Hot Toys or Mezco products suffered that fate, sadly). And of course, there's always the next one! Power Con in August, NY ToyFair in late September, New York Comic Con in October... And that's not counting the small local toy conventions! By the time you'll have recovered from this one, there will always be another. This year's San Diego Comic Con did not have any actors or celebrities appearances due to the ongoing Screen Actor's Guild strike, so the focus was on all the other things, which ended up being... pretty great actually! A SDCC without big studio presence turned out to be nice. Who would have thought? For a lot of us, it felt like the focus was actually on toys, since there was SO. MUCH. TOYS. It felt like more like a Toy Fair than a San Diego Comic Con. Anyone else feeling the same? What other tips would you have to deal with the Post Comic Con blues? Let us know in the comments! 2. Since probably no one is going to read this article due to the focus being on San Diego Comic Con and all its amazing reveals, panels and booths (so many booths!), ToyFarce will report some local news from the area today. Earlier yesterday, Andy, a toy collector had the chance to meet his favorite toy youtuber (or toytuber, who will remain anonymous), but sadly, it didn't go as planned... "I've been one of his followers for years. I always put a like on his videos, leave a comment, and I am always in the chat when he is streaming live. He said my name (well, username...) multiple times when he said hello to the chat, and I used to think that it was kind of a big deal. Like if we were close, he knows my name, he sees me commenting and chatting,etc... I know so much about his life, what toys he collects and likes, ... So when I heard he was going to be at the San Diego Comic Con, I was excited, because I was going too!" What happened that day at the Comic Con was not what Andy had hoped for. "I saw that he was posting pictures of one of the booths, so I headed there, hoping to catch up with him as he would be done. When I arrived, he was chatting with the people from the booths, so I didn't want to bother him. I waved at him quickly when he looked my way, but he just looked confused for a second, like if he didn't know who I was. I have never felt so embarrassed in my life. A bit later, I managed to chat with him. I said that I'm Andy, and I'm usually in the chat, and always comment and like his videos, and he just said "thanks" and that he appreciated it, but then he wanted to go to another booth to take pictures. I had already seen that other booth so I didn't follow him. How rude, right?" We sincerely hope that it didn't ruin the Youtuber's image for Andy and that he will find it in himself to forgive and forget, and still watch his videos. Andy said he would at least watch the next few shows just to see if he mentions him. We asked Andy if he shared his username with the Youtuber, which might have helped a bit more, but he didn't reply. More news at 11:00... They say 'Never meet your heroes', but they say nothing about Toy Youtubers! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  3. With several studios cancelling their panels at the San Diego Comic Con due to the Screen Actor's Guild strike, and the appearances of any actors or celebrities in serious doubt, another infamous part of any Comic Cons, the scalpers, or members of the S.C.A.L.P. (who put the 'con' in 'comic con), have decided to also skip the event this year. ToyFarce investigated... "Well, you see, if we can't get actors to sign our toys, so that we can jack up the prices, then what's the point?" said a representant of the SCALP. "Usually, we'd go for the SDCC exclusive items, but they're all going to be available online, so we can just work remotely, get more members ordering them from home. We'd also have several of our members queueing in the lines to get autographs on items, so that we can then sell them with a huge mark up, but this won't happen this year, so that saves us the trip!" Without any movie trailers to show or celebrities to 'meet and greet', it looks like this year's San Diego Comic Con might have to resort to focus on other formats, such as comics... which is something that had been in the name 'Comic Con' all along. Who would have thought? More news at 11:00... More for us, then! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  4. It's that time of the year again, right before the San Diego Comic Con, when every company announce SDCC Exclusives that seem to all 'must-get' items! For a week or two now, toy collectors worldwide have opened their favorite toy news websites and social media wincing, hoping they won't see a new announcement of an action figure that they will end up desperately wanting. It's a tough life! "I thought I'd be fine eating ramen noodles from Top Ramen until the end of the year, but after the Mondo announcements, it looks like I might have to go with the off brand version going forward." said a collector from Wisconsin. "It would be better if the San Diego Comic Con happened a bit later, so that we have time to save some money..." The timing of it all is really bad too, since there was first about $800 worth of NECA TMNT products that appeared unannounced at Target a few weeks ago, then Target had their Summer Geek Out, then pre-orders from MAFEX, G.I.Joe,... decided to drop all at once, plus the merch from the next TMNT movie, etc... The month of June has been terrible for savings accounts. More news at 11:00... Oh, and they will announce more upcoming toys there as well... *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  5. Well... What a San Diego Comic Con, huh? Tons and tons of great stuff revealed, up until the last day! It's like if they decided to make up for the last 2 cancelled Comic Cons and concentrate all the fun and excitement from them into this one! It could even get pretty overwhelming at times, and ToyFarce has received tips from multiple sources that tons of collectors have asked for at least a few days off from work in order to be able to process the whole thing. It all started on preview night, on Wednesday, when the first pics from all the different booths started to appear online. The thrill was already there as we could see pics of our favorite brands' booths, and then, it kinda never stopped, until Sunday night, when they closed the doors down. The reveals, the panels, the announcements, everything! Even the most organized of collectors might have missed a few things, since there was so, so much. There were even hidden easter eggs on some of the brands' displays, for crying out loud! (Looking at you, Hasbro with the mechanic tools all over the glass displays, and NECA with the hidden Animated Last Ronin ninja turtle hidden behind a window in the street diorama!). In order to be able to function properly, we've heard that not only the attendees or toy bloggers, but collectors from all over the world needed to take some time off to rest and recover from all that, which is ironical, since we will all definitely need all the money for when those pre-orders and releases hit, so taking time off from work right now is not the best idea! What were your favorite reveals, announcements or photos from SDCC 2022? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... I think I'm still processing Friday right now. I'm good with Preview Night and Day 1, so far...
  6. SAN DIEGO COMIC CON IS HERE! The biggest pop culture event of the year is finally happening, and all toy collectors are glued to their phone or computer screens, hunting for the latest pictures of new reveals that are ongoing right now in sunny California! If you have never been there, or are going for the first time, here is what you can expect at the event: TOYS! All our favorite toy brands are there and have gigantic booths full of toys everywhere, and it's amazing! Look at the NECA stand on that picture! Can you believe we're getting those figures?! It's great! COSPLAY! Cosplayers all around the world have spend hours perfecting their costumes for that day, and can finally shine! So many amazing cosplays have spotted there, just like this great Vecna from Stranger Things seen here on the picture. Have you noticed his feet? How did he do that?! CELEBRITIES! It's not uncommon to stumble upon your favorite stars just roaming the area (some in disguise, which is one of my favorite parts). A friend sent me that picture of Chris Pine that he took yesterday, look at him! More news at 11:00... Oh yeah, and CROWDS... Lots and lots of crowds. *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  7. The San Diego Comic Con, the biggest comic convention of all, is just a few days away, and with it comes its usual fair share of scalping opportunities, as we can always trust the scalpers to put the 'con' in 'comic-con'. This year, scalpers have decided to work remotely, as they will hire people to go to the comic con and queue in their place! An undercover agent working at the S.C.A.L.P. industry sent ToyFarce a job listing, which reads as follows: "Do you like queueing for hours? Would you like to make money for it? The S.C.A.L.P. industry has an opportunity for you! After 2,5 years of working from home and cancelled events, we are unfortunately no longer in Comic Con shape, so we have decided to send anyone who applies to this ad in order to get those exclusives for us! The job: You will be required to wait in line in order to acquire all the hot SDCC exclusive items. Bonus points if you cosplay, as you will be able to queue for the items a second time (with and without costume). Your experience: No knowledge about toys required. Actually, the less you know about the value of those items, the better! Not having an ebay account is a plus, since you cannot check the listings and prices while you are queueing. Are you interested? Apply now!" We can see that as a step up, since they would usually send family members to do that instead. This year, Aunt Marge can have a rest. More news at 11:00... Typical... They don't mention any salary range.
  8. Disney’s Marvel Studios films and MCU Series won't be making an appearance at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, according to the latest report by Deadline. No information has been released if Sony's Marvel titles will be attending the event as well. This will be the third year that Warner Bros. will skip Comic-Con but Warner Bros. Television will have DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and the DC Publishing division will be participating at this year's San Diego Comic-Con@Home. Warner Bros. will have their DC Fandome again this September for the second year in a row. The live edition of San Diego Comic-Con will be November 26th-28th and the San Diego Comic-Con@Home runs July 23rd-25th.
