  1. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the One:12 Collective Doctor Doom action figure from Mezco Toyz. "Wow, his armor is made of armor!" was litterally my first impression, when I first opened the figure. He's heavy and his armor parts are made of metal. A beautiful figure for the ruler of Latveria! First off, the box is pretty darn cool, with Victor Von Doom's face plate on the front. There are 3 plastic inserts full of accessories. This was a bit overwhelming at first, because I had no idea if I could manage to take pictures of each for the review, but I ended up trying anyway. The figure comes with 2 heads with 3 different face plates(the heads are normal and scarred, and the 3 face plates have different styles), 13 extra-hands, his gun with a holster and pouch, a different belt, a cosmic Power Syphon, a spell book, and tons of effects or magic accessories, along with the usual Mezco stand and ziploc bag (more companies should add ziploc bags for accessories!). The figure itself feels pretty heavy, but can be posed pretty easily (as long as the soft goods allow it). The soft goods look and feel really nice on the figure, and it is a fabric I'd expected Doom to be wearing. The armor parts have that metal coldness to them. And it looks great. I had heard lots of comments about the head being too big, I don't see it that much with the hood on. The tons of accessories and effect are pretty fun too, with the Cosmic Power Siphon having lights (and batteries are included). All in all, the amount of accessories can justify the price. More news at 11:00... "This world is mine to rule, and mine alone."
  2. It's Wednesday and you know what that means, ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Red Pyramid Thing from Silent Hill 2, from the One:12 Collective line by Mezco. Also known as "Pyramid Head", the Red Pyramid Thing is a big humanoid monster that torments you in the 2001 video game Silent Hill 2. He has always been one of my favorite video game characters, so I was glad to get a Mezco version of it. Sadly, not a homerun for me. The Red Pyramid Thing is the embodiement of James Sunderland's guilt and desire to be punished in the video game. It appears on several occasions in the game, looks huge, creepy and is sure to scare the heck out of you. He also appears in the movie adaptations of Silent Hill, and has one of the most brutal horror scenes in the first movie (which is the good one, the second is quite bad). The figures comes in a sober Mezco box, as they always do (and nobody is giving crap to Mezco about having WiNdOwLeSs packaging, somehow). There are 3 layers of inserts in the box, the figure and some accessories, the mannequin and the rest of the accessories and stand. The Red Pyramid Thing comes with an extra head, 5 extra pairs of hands, a mannequin figure, his Great Knife, his Great Spear, 6 different blood splatter effects (including some for the Great Knife and Great Spear), 9 little creepers (bugs) and the usual Mezco stand. The second head seems to be inspired by the design from the movies or the game Silent Hill: Homecoming, where the Pyramid looks more 'mechanical', with bolts and different textures to it. To my knowledge, it's a Mezco design. My first impression is that he's a bit small... The character towers over James in the game and is super tall in the movie, but this figure feels a bit tiny. Bigger than the Figma one, at least. The proportions are a bit strange, in classic Mezco fashion. The 'head' seems a bit too big, and too low on the shoulders. Also, he looks a bit too thin for me (maybe because of the big head?). The tailoring is nice, but it looks like we caught him on a day when he did his laundry. His butcher apron is not dirty or torn enough. Other figures/statue of this character usually have a greyer, dirtier look. Great details on the sculpt (and the inside of it). I'm glad to have it, but he could have been slightly better. BONUS: Mezco Silent Hill 2 5 Points Deluxe Boxed Set I also grabbed the '5 points' set that Mezco released a few months ago, which includes 2 mini figures with minimal articulations. The 3.75" figures are nice and have great details, and come with a little diorama cardboard piece that has 2 sides. The Red Pyramid Thing has an extra arm, his Great Knife and Great Spear, and the Bubble Head nurse has an extra arm and a pipe. A fun little set to display next to other Silent Hill 2 items. More news at 11:00... In my restless dreams, I see that town... Silent Hill.
  3. Following the massive success and reception of the most anticipated figure of the last few years, none other than the Mezco One:12 Collective Batman - 1989 Edition, Mezco Toyz decided to double down and announced the next figure in their One:12 Collective line that is sure to sell out instantly and get released in a timely manner: The One:12 Collective Batman - 1992 Edition (Batman Returns)! "The whole process went so smoothly for the first one, it makes all the sense in the world to continue and deliver another Batman." said Nick, a long time collector of the line. "People kept anticipating the Batman 89 for so long, and were SO HAPPY when they finally got it, I can't wait for the Batman Returns version, with the slightly different costume and emblem." ToyFarce received an exclusive early look at the promo pictures for what fans are sure to call "Batman 92" or "Batman Returns Batman". More news at 11:00... Crossing fingers for One:12 Collective Batman 95 next! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  4. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Batman - 1989 Edition from the Mezco One:12 Collective line. No, you are not dreaming. Do not attempt to adjust your computer/cellphone screen. It's happening. The review of a figure 3 years in the making. We've heard the complaints, we've memed it to death, but now, it's time to give it its due: It's a godd$*n nice figure! For reminders, the figure was announced and up for pre-order in January 2020, and supposed to be out by August to October of that same year... and it was delayed... and delayed... and delayed... No information or updates from Mezco during that whole time, which is why it became such a hot subject, and when the emails saying that they would start processing it started to pop up last month, people did not believe it at first. (There was even some weird custom that someone made and tried to pass as the real thing in early march... Those were strange times). But now, it is out! The box is quite sober, as usual with Mezco one:12 collective. Logo on the front, promo pics we had already seen on the back. There are 2 levels of inserts inside. First off the body. When you open the figure, you'll notice it has a powder coating on it. It's to protect the rubber body. Mezco released a statement about it, and if you've handled a seamless body before, you'll know it. A quick wash, either using a microfiber cloth and a bit of water, or a rubber protectant product and tadaa, it will be gone. And D$*N, this thing looks amazing. It has an articulated metal armature under the rubber, which allows for great posing. I know some collectors have posted about being frustrated by the body not moving as it should, or having loose arms or legs, but I can only talk from experience, and mine turned up great. Batman - 1989 Edition comes with 3 extra heads, on top of the one with moveable eyes, 6 extra hands, 2 capes (wired and not wired, more on that later), 4 batarangs, 1 batarang with wire, a grapnel launcher with hook, a grapnel launch with hook and wire or a collapsed grapnel launcher, a gauntlet, a time bomb, a shuriken and a couple more tiny accessories I'm not sure about (things that come from his utility belt!), along with the usual big circular Mezco stand and post. Pro tip: Dorklair posted a very helpful tip about the wired cape, which only has wires every 2 seams: You can mod it very easily by adding wires (either from twist ties that you get from other toys, or just getting actual metal wire from a hardware store) directly into the seams that do not have a wire. It's pretty easy, they slide right up, and changes everything. Now, should we have to do that ourselves after waiting for 3 years for a $100 figure, that's another story... Here is is, in all its glory. The figure feels nice in hand, moves quite easily, and the likeness is very good. The moveable eyes on the headsculpt work fine, even if it looks like he is permanently surprised (the eyes being bigger), and the 3 other headsculpts look awesome. That is one of the best 1989 Batman figure out there. Some could say it was even worth the wait, but I'll wait to say that once everybody has gotten theirs, as there are a lot of people still waiting for it, unfortunately... More news at 11:00... I'm Batman.
  5. Now that a large portion of the Mezco One:12 Collective Batman 1989 Edition have been delivered, and the reviews and pictures have been flooding our feeds, it is nice to know that the toy community can (one:12) collectively move on, and focus on the next big thing (like 'Where is my Mezco Mr Freeze'). There were multiple reports about one collector that ToyFarce went out of their way to meet: a satisfied collector! ToyFarce met with Justin, a collector from Colorado, that has zero complaints about the Mezco One:12 Collective Batman 1989 edition that he just acquired: "I'm really glad with how it turned out! Have you seen this thing? It's awesome!" About the 3 year wait: "I didn't mind waiting. I am sure Mezco wanted the figure to be perfect, which caused the wait to be longer, so I understand. The final result definitely speaks for itself! I'm glad they took their time. You can't rush perfection." About no information about the delays for 3 years: "I don't spend a lot of time online, so I would have missed it anyway. Was it really 3 years? Wow. With the whole pandemic thing, I've been working from home, so most days looked like each other, I didn't see time fly. It could have been 3 years and I didn't know." About the figure finally arriving: "It was like Christmas in late March/early April. When I received the email saying it would process soon, I was so excited! I'm sure everybody was." About the figure having a powder residue on it: "Since it's a seamless body in rubber, Mezco had to put a powder on it so that it doesn't dry or get damaged. Can you imagine? Mezco cares so much about their figures and their customer satisfaction, they put a powder on our toys to protect them. Best company ever! Also, after quickly and calmly researching on the internet, I saw that we can use a product on it to protect it as well (303 Protectant spray). Isn't it great?" About the figure itself: "I love it. The new body looks really good, it articulates well. I don't really check social media or youtube reviews, so I don't know what other collectors have been saying this whole time, but I can't imagine anybody being mad or sour about the delay or the figure. It's awesome!" There has to be some sort of morale in there... More news at 11:00... Next: Mister Freeze! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  6. It finally happened! The long awaited Mezco One:12 Collective Batman - 1989 edition figure is out! Collectors have been starting to receive it and post pictures all over the internet (ToyFarce will have a review ready as soon as he arrives). The figure, 3 years in the making, didn't arrive without its share of issues, as some collectors reported problems with the articulation, or a powder coating on the figure. Thankfully, Mezco quickly released some instructions online... but sadly, it was a little too late for one collector. "At first, there was a significant amount of dissolving..." explained Kevin, a long time Mezco fan. "When I got the figure, it had some suspicious powder on it, so I tried to wipe it off with a paper towel. The paper towel started to leave small pieces of it on the rubber of the figure, so then I decided to use window cleaning product to clean the figure. If it can clean windows, it can clean my figure, right? Well, no. After I sprayed a copious amount of it on the figure, i noticed the rubber started to melt a little, and it would rub off if i wiped it more, leaving black goo on my paper towel, so I sprayed some Easy-Off, the oven cleaner, because you know, if it can clean a oven, it can clean my figure, right? Well...no. The rubber started bubbling and dissolving in front of my eyes. Now I have a metal skeleton with Batman's head, gloves and boots. I would not advise to use Easy-Off on your figure." More news at 11:00... "What are you? - I'm the articulated metal armature that used to be Batman." *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  7. There it is, folks! Hell has officially frozen over! On Friday, the message, 3 years in the making, has been received by everyone, like a Bat Signal in the sky: The long awaited Mezco One:12 Collective Batman - 1989 Edition action figure is processing soon! This is not a drill! But what were the events that led to its surprise reveal? Could it be that this email was unintentional? ToyFarce investigated... ToyFarce met with Brad, the newest intern at the Mezco HQ in New York, to tell us exactly what happened on Friday: "I had just come back from a coffee run, and sat down at my desk, when I saw that there was an email from the company. I looked at it and thought it was the email saying that the One:12 Collective Batman - 1989 Edition was processing soon, so I was excited, and just forwarded it to everyone, using the company email address... It is only after I scrolled down a little that I saw that this was just a new template email, and it said "FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY" in the title. Third day on the job and I've already messed up..." The news went through the toy community like wildfire, as every group chats, Facebook groups, and news website would instantly blow up and talk about how FINALLY, the wait is over. Not only that, but ToyFarce also heard that mainstream news also picked up on it. Special thanks to William "Dorklair" for sending this over! More news at 11:00... Now, that figure will definitely 100% meet the expectations of everyone, right? *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  8. As more and more Mezco One:12 Collective action figures are starting to come out, there was hope that a stray 'Processing soon' email would arrive in our mailboxes about the coveted 1989 Batman figure, a figure that has been delayed for over 2 years now (original release date was between August and October 2020). Unfortunately, it looks like we'll have to wait a little more, as ToyFarce was approached by a self-proclaimed time traveler, who confirmed to us that the figure is still not out in 2034! The time traveler introduced himself as Blizzorp3000 (he explained that in the future, we won't use first names and last names anymore, but rather our internet usernames), and said that he came from the year 2034. We were hoping that he would let us know about important upcoming events, or maybe lottery numbers or a sports almanac, but he said that that wasn't important. He was there to let us know one thing, and one thing only: The Mezco One:12 Collective 1989 Batman figure is still not out yet in 2034. When we asked why he would use a time machine to come and tell us that, he just shrugged and said he thought it was important. In fact, it was the most important thing to him. He then went back to his time machine and left. We are still not sure if it happens, or if this was a fever dream. More news at 11:00... This is heavy. *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  9. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Gotham by Gaslight Joker from Mezco's One:12 Collective line. This is one of those "What if" kind of figures, as the Joker did not appear in the Gotham by Gaslight comic book, so we can ponder the question "What if the Joker was in the Victorian era?", or "What if the Joker figure came out months before the actual Batman from that story?". Well, here it is! Special thanks to my friend Ryan C for the assist to get this one! This has to be one of the most sober boxes from Mezco I have seen in a while. No sleeve, pretty light cardboard compared to the usual, just straight to the point. Fair enough. This Gotham by Gaslight Joker comes with a nice jacket, a scarf, a bloody apron, a top hat, sunglasses, a suitcase, 3 playing cards, 2 headsculpts, all sorts of hands and a plethora of sharp tools which can be stored in the suitcase (which is pretty awesome). The smiling headsculpt is a beautiful homage to Conrad Veidt's classic look from the 1928 movie "The Man Who Laughs", which is a great touch. I love that kind of little easter eggs, especially since the Joker character was heavily inspired by the character in that movie in the first place. Well, what else can I say? This is your usual Mezco One:12 Collective figure: Great articulation, the tailoring is fantastic, this will look amazing on any shelf. Several options for display (jacket, jacket+scarf, no jacket, apron,... naked?). More news at 11:00... "What a lucky clown you are! You don't have to wipe off your laugh."
  10. Shown below is a look at the One:12 Collective Rumble Society Krig - Blood Force figure from Mezco which is being released as a Asia Goal exclusive overseas. Mezco is also teasing a non-red version which they will be releasing on their own site soon as well as a yellow one.

  19. UPDATE: Some have pointed out this is more likely a tease for their Mega Scale Beetlejuice figure they showed off back in February during Toy Fair, and we agree. Still we want to hear from you on how much demand there would be for a One:12 version. Mezco posted this image of the Michael Keaton Beetlejuice character today on their Twitter account. We can't say for sure but looks like they might be hinting to another upcoming figure for their One:12 Collective line. Let us know, do you want to see Mezco do a One:12 Collective Beetlejuice figure?

While flipping through the pages of their One:12 Collective section, I came across this page. From the original Christopher Reeve Superman, the obvious conclusion is they are hinting to an upcoming One:12 Collective Christopher Reeve Superman figure. It should go great with the already revealed Michael Keaton Batman figure.
