  1. NECA today shared new images for their upcoming 7" Defenders of the Earth Lothar figure which we originally saw back during the 2019 Toy Fair. With the images they also said that Mandrake the Magician and Lothar are still coming along with other classic takes on these iconic characters. Currently the first wave of these figures which includes Flash Gordon, Ming the Merciless and The Phantom are hitting Walmart stores, and will see a wider release at other retailers in the next month or so. NECA has yet to announce any release dates for Lothar and Mandrake.
  2. Wizkids has issued a new press release about them doing products for Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering from Wizards of the Coast. In the press release it mentions them doing action figures for these properties. If you aren't familiar, Wizkids is part of NECA Toys and Wizards of the Coast is owned by Hasbro. In recent weeks we have been seeing Hasbro licensing many of their brands like Transformers, G.I. Joe and Power Rangers out to other toy companies such as Super7, Threezero, Icon Heroes, Diamond Select Toys and Mezco. Now it looks like we can add Wizkids/NECA to that group. Wizkids while known for their gaming miniatures for such lines as Heroclix is not know for doing action figures. So we reached out to the folks at Wizkids just to clarify what we saw in the press release, that they in fact were going to be branching out doing actual action figures for these two properties. There response was: Now they wouldn't give me any other specific details on these figures like what scale, how much articulation, or what exact figures they will be doing. I know whenever the topic of D&D action figures comes up, the first comments I see from readers is they want to see figures based on the classic 80's Dungeons & Dragons animated series. I tend to doubt animated series figures will be the primary focus here, nor do I know if those are even a possibility with this licensing deal. Wizkids tells me more specific details about all their upcoming Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering products including the actions figures will be revealed soon. For now check out the entire press release below: PRESS RELEASE: WizKids, the premier manufacturer of premium pre-painted miniatures and tabletop games, today announced expansions to its vast product lines for both the highly popular role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons and strategy card game Magic: The Gathering. The new products are slated to hit shelves worldwide beginning in 2021. Fans and players of the popular franchises can now grow their arsenal of game accessories and lifestyle products to show their affinity for their beloved brands with the arrival of new and in–demand product lines. Debut product categories include action figures, prop replicas, apparel, and even game accessories such as maps, battle mats, bags, carrying cases, and more! “As players and fans of these two popular games, we are thrilled to be creating dynamic products that will enhance the play experience for enthusiasts of these long-admired franchises,” said Justin Ziran, president at WizKids. WizKids will also offer branded, high-quality paints and paint supplies as a companion to its widely successful Nolzur’s Marvelous Miniatures line – designed for all levels of painting experience. Additionally, WizKids is adding high quality, unpainted, sprue miniatures for intermediate and veteran miniature painters. “We are excited to expand our strategic partnership with WizKids to encompass both D&D and Magic. By increasing the variety of products available in key categories, we will further enhance our fans’ experience around the gaming table and offer new collectibles and lifestyle products that allow them to show off their fandom with friends and family,” said Ann Earp, director of licensing at Wizards of the Coast. “The product quality of WizKids and their ability to tap into what fans are really looking for has grown our business exponentially for D&D, and we look forward to them bringing that same success with Magic: The Gathering products and accessories.” Expanded categories include: -D&D sprue miniatures: premium, unpainted High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS), unassembled, unprimed, miniatures on sprue -D&D action figures -D&D paint line -D&D and Magic: The Gathering artifacts & prop replicas -D&D accessories: battle mats, maps, bags & carrying cases These new product categories will join the previously announced papercraft and 2D miniatures lines.
  3. Shown below via mjerrett are new in-hand images for NECA's first wave of 7" The Defenders of the Earth figures. This wave includes The Phantom with Zuffy, Flash Gordon and Ming. Here in the US these figures should start seeing release at Walmart stores, and then about 30 days later they will be available at other retailers. Look for them on shelves any day now.
  4. NECA has released this concept image for their Ultimate 7" Predator 2 Lost Tribe Scout Predator figure which is being done to celebrate the movies 30th anniversary. It also looks like all the Lost Tribe members will be getting the Ultimate treatment throughout the year. More details will be coming during Toy Fair which kicks off on February 22.
  5. Laura Legends takes a look at the Predator Ultimate Alpha Predator 100th Edition figure from NECA. You can purchase this figure from our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com. Let us know your thoughts about the review in the COMMENTS SECTION below.
  6. NECA today released this teaser image for what looks like another one of their Kenner inspired Alien figures. This one specifically looks to be based on the original Kenner Panther Alien that Kenner did back in the day. Stay-tuned for more details on this as they become available.
  7. NECA has released packaged images for their upcoming 1989 Batman Batarang Prop Replica which we first saw last February at Toy Fair. This 1:1 scale replica will be releasing first to market at Walmart this month.
  8. NECA had previously teased this Back To The Future 7" Marty McFly (Audition)figure several times over the last couple months but have now released official images for it. Based on the images it looks like the figure will include a new guitar, guitar pic, alternate translucent hand, family photo with only himself left visible and a save the clock tower flyer. Check out the images below.
  9. Looks like NECA might not be out of the Monster figure making business just yet. Today they posted this images for what appears to be creatures that have appeared in older King Kong movies. Stay-tuned for more details as they become available on these.
  10. Shown below via Toho Kingdom is a quick look at an upcoming 1933 King Kong figure coming from NECA. Look for it to be released At Walmart first in February/March time frame.
  11. NECA has released new official images for their upcoming Target exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Rat King and Vernon 2-pack which will be the first new set released in 2021.
  12. UPDATE: These look to be part of the Toony Terrors line and being done as stand-alone figures. You can see them here in their new Toony Terrors Visual Guide which you can download here. NECA today updated their social media photo with this image of what appears to be figures based on the twin girls seen in the classic Stanley Kubrick film The Shining. The figures don't appear to have much articulation, so they look more like some kind of pack-in accessory as opposed to something that would be released on it's own. If NECA is doing figures based on the Shinning, then the big question becomes will they be able to do a figure based on the film's star Jack Nicholson who played the character Jack Torrance. We will update this story as more details become available.
  13. Shown below via LittleToysBiggerWorld is almost 100 images for NECA's new 7" Back to the Future figures which includes the Back To The Future Marty McFly, Back To The Future 2 Marty McFly, Back To The Future 50's Doc Brown, Back To The Future 50's Biff and Back To The Future Tales From Space Marty McFly. Check out all the images below.
  14. The Target exclusive NECA Toys Splinter. Figure sold as a 2-pack with Baxter. Baxter photos coming soon.
  15. For the first time in the 45-year history of Jaws, NECA is happy to announce their officially licensed 8-inch clothed figure featuring the likeness of Robert Shaw as Sam Quint in the 1975 classic film. The seasoned shark hunter is equipped with screen-accurate accessories and tailored clothing. Collectors can expect an in-scale companion piece of the great white shark to arrive later this year. You can pre-order this figure from our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com.
