  2. NECA had been teasing a new Back To The Future figure reveal for Back To The Future Day which was yesterday. The only image they released however was one of Marty from behind playing the guitar. Originally I thought this was simply the first Marty figure they had released, only with the red vest jacket removed. Then today they released a second image of that same figure, this time with it holding a photo of his family as seen in the movie. This is an accessory that wasn't included with the first Marty figure. I am also told the red vest jacket on the original figure isn't made to be removed. So that leads me to believe this is a new Marty figure they will be doing without the jacket and probably some new additional accessories. Perhaps it will have a new headsculpt as well since that is something NECA has yet to reveal with these first two images. I guess time will tell.
  3. Radar Licensing has announced new licensing agreements for the Hammer House of Horror which includes the likes of 1950s classics The Curse of Frankenstein and Horror of Dracula which saw actor Christopher Lee dawn the fangs of the most notorious vampire in history. Two of the license agreements mentioned in the official press release is one with NECA for action figures as well as Sideshow Toy. MEGO is another company mentioned for figures. See the full release below:

  6. NECA has released new images showing off their upcoming Ultimate Gremlins 2: The New Batch Greta figure which we last saw on display in February at Toy Fair. Stay-tuned for more details on this one as they become available.
  7. NECA is in attendance at the NJToyCon going on this weekend showing off some new TMNT product. You can see below via minionmikey two new versions of Rocksteady and Bebop that they will be releasing. One set is the bunny set being offered through Lootcrate. The second set features the two in pirate attire which will be released as a 2-pack in the Turtles In Time video game line which means they will be available at places like our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com.
  8. NECA has released new images for their upcoming Target exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Traag and Granitor 2-Pack which will be the first 2-pack released for wave 4 in October. Looks like NECA will be doing the staggered releases for the wave like they did with previous one. No word yet on the specific release date yet. The other 2-packs slated for wave 4 include Splinter & Baxter Stockman and Roadkill Rodney & Triceraton-Soldier .
  9. NECA posted on their social media some in-hand images for their upcoming Back To The Future II Marty and Back To The Future Biff Ultimate 7" figures which have already started seeing release in Asia. They say the first wave will be hitting shelves here in the US any day now. All these figures are available for pre-order at our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com. Also here is a video from Toy Mind showing an even better look at the Back To The Future II Marty. We've included some screencaps below as well.
  10. Being offered exclusively through Shout Factory is a new NECA 8" cloth retro figure based on the character Frank Armit who was played by Keith David in the John Carpenter They Live movie. The figure will come with two weapon accessories. You can buy the figure through a couple different bundle options with the movie or just the figure itself for $39.99.
  11. NECA today announce a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990 Movie) 7" Scale Accessory Set which will go up for pre-order this Friday (9/4) on thenecastore.com. This will be one of two TMNT items going up for pre-order on Friday, with the second item set to be revealed tomorrow. This is the largest accessory pack NECA has ever released, filled to the shells with new items that encompass the entirety of the classic 1990 film. Finally, you can give your turtles new expressions with 4 unique head sculpts for Mikey, Donnie, Leo, and Raph with all new straight headband ties. Also included in this massive set is a television with everyone's favorite reporter on screen, an officially licensed bottle of turtle wax, Shredder's damaged helmet, a skateboard, Donnie's straw hat, a street sign, manhole cover, stuffed panda, and newspaper. Some familiar accessories from the 1/4 line will also be making return in 7" scale, including Mikey's spinning nunchuck accessory, bags of corn chips and pork rinds, and the baby turtles! The set is said to cost around $50.
  12. Granted this one is a little bit out of our normal wheelhouse, but it recently came to my attention that something troublesome might possibly be afoot in the world of comic books, and yes there is a action figure connection here, so bear with me. Artist Tristan Jones has recently made a claim on social media stating that artist Greg Land has traced his work for the cover of the upcoming ALIENS OMNIBUS VOLUME 1 soon to be released by Marvel Comics. If you hadn't heard, Marvel is taking over from Dark Horse Comics the publishing of Alien and Predator comic books, likely due to Disney's recent acquisition of 20th Century Fox who holds the rights to those properties. This upcoming Omnibus is one of the first Alien offerings being put out by Marvel. For those not familiar, Jones worked on the original 2016 Dark Horse Comic limited-series called Aliens: Defiance as well as doing the packaging art for the NECA action figure based on that same series, hence the action figure connection to this story. Jones states that Land traced his work for the cover of the upcoming Marvel publication and provided visual proof in his accusation. If you do a quick google search on artist Greg Land, it doesn't take you long to see this isn't the first time someone has made an accusation of this type against him. I don't personally follow the inner-workings of the comic book industry enough to know how common a problem this type of thing is, or even if tracing with modifications like the claim states is legally considered plagiarism. I would think it would be, but seeing this isn't the first time Land has been accused of this, and he seems to continue to be employed by a company like Marvel, not to mention Jones is seemingly going to social media instead of seeking out a lawyer, I just don't know. Legal or not it definitely doesn't seem like a very cool thing to do.
