  1. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Frankenstein's Monster from the NECA Universal Monsters line, the black and white version! I've always loved those old classic movies, so when NECA announced they were going to dive into that line, I was ecstatic. Then, they announced they would do black and white AND colored versions of them, and I was torn! Shoud I get them in black and white, or should i get the colored versions... the movies were in black and white, so it would make sense to get those... but the colored ones look great too... OH, THE DILEMMA! (First world problems, am i right?). I decided to go with the black and white ones, and so far they have announced only the Mummy in black and white... There's also an accessory pack for it, but that is only colored... Oh well. The Frankenstein monster, as portrayed by Boris Karloff with the iconic make-up and bolts in his neck, is a fantastic looking figure. He comes with 2 extra heads, 4 extra hands, a chain and a couple of flowers. Let's switch to black and white photos! Articulation-wise, it's the usual NECA offering. The big jacket is rubbery and does hinder a bit of movement, but then again, that is one character that is supposed to be stiff. Don't expect a lot of Spider-man poses with this one (Oh, that would have been super funny actually...) So far, the Werewolf (colored) and the Mummy (both colored AND black and white) are the only other 2 officially announced, and Dracula was teased. An accessory pack for the Mummy, complete with Sarcophagus and chest is also available for pre-order. Now, if someone could just tease the Phantom of the Opera and the Creature from the Black Lagoon... More news at 11:00... It's alive... ALIIIVE!
  2. NECA has outdone themselves with this awesome 1980s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles poster! We get our first look at Toon versions of Tokka, Rahzar, Crooked Ninja Turtle Goon, Rock Soldier Infantryman, the Neutrinos and Usagi Yojimbo! All of these reveals are amazing! "NECA's massive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figure line is only possible thanks to the depth and popularity of the TMNT universe! Feast your eyes on the newest visual guide for the TMNT classic cartoon. Spot anything new?"
  3. NECA today along with Judith Hoag who played the character April O' Neil in the original 90's TMNT movie announced that a new April O' Neil figure featuring the actresses likeness would be coming. The figure like the recent Tokka & Rahzar 2-Pack will be put up for pre-order and be done made to order so you won't have to worry about it selling out. Specific details about the pre-order will come at a later date. Look for Judith to post production stages of the figure on her own YouTube in the coming days. With a April O' Neil figure in the works, could an unmasked Casey Jones figure be far behind? Actor Elias Koteas who played Casey recently indicated on social media that he was now open to the idea of having his likeness featured on a Casey Jones action figure. NECA had originally sculpted an unmasked head for Casey, but was unable to include it with the recently released 2-pack because they had not been able to secure the likeness rights. Seems like an April and Unmasked Casey 2-Pack could be the way to go, what do you think? Let us know in the COMMENTS SECTION.
  4. NECA has also announced a Universal Monsters The Mummy Accessory Set! More info as it comes! "This is the Scroll of Thoth. Herein are set down the magic words by which Isis raised Osiris from the dead…. The Mummy Accessory Set is coming in 2022"
  5. Now you can catch America's favorite green teens in their first live-action blockbuster film! After wading in a puddle of radioactive waste, these radical reptiles are transformed into New York City's greatest crime-fighting quartet. After rescuing Raphael from The Foot, the Turtles and their allies April O'Neil and Casey Jones retreat to April's family farm to regroup. This 7" scale action figure 2-pack includes all new versions of April and Casey in their farm location clothing with the approved likenesses of Judith Hoag and Elias Koteas! Super articulated and packed with farm-specific accessories, including wrench, hammer, binoculars, sports drink, April’s drawings, and more. Window box packaging. Estimated Shipping: January 2022 at Walmart
  6. NECA has announce that a Back to the Future Accessory set is coming and they showed off Einstein as part of it! More info as it comes! "The first time traveler and a centerpiece to the forthcoming BTTF accessory set."
  7. NECA has posted their final 12 Days of Downloads and its the ever awesome Aliens! "Our final download lands on facehugger friday and features the extensive collection of action figures from the ALIENS universe NECA has released (so far). Download the extra-large, 300 dpi JPG visual guides through the link below!" http://necaonline.com/.../12-days-of-downloads-2021-day.../
  8. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the "Shadow Warriors" two-pack from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie by NECA. Who are the Shadow Warriors, you ask? They are Oroku Saki and Hamato Yoshi, from that flashback scene that lasts one minute and twenty seconds! NECA pulled a move from the old Kenner Star Wars line, where every character, even the ones that had 2 seconds of screen time, got an action figure, and delivered us this two-pack (or should we say four-pack, since it comes with 2 Splinters!) loaded with accessories. The packaging is the classic NECA TMNT box, with window in the front and pictures in the back. Since it all comes from a flashback scene, let's go back from the beginning... "Did I tell you about that dream I had, with shirtless men? - I'd rather you don't. - Alright, then here's a flashback..." The figures come with a ton of accessories: tons of weapons, 2 Splinter rats along with a rat cage (the best part of this set, in my opinion), an additional kimono (with arms) if you want both your Shadow Warriors to be wearing clothes (it's winter after all), or 2 extra 'naked' arms in case you want both of them shirtless, from that 'other' flashback/dream sequence of Splinter. "Many years ago, I lived in Japan... A pet of my master Yoshi." "Mimicking his movements and learning the mysterious art of Ninjitsu, for Yoshi was one of Japan's finest Shadow Warriors." "His only rival was a man named Oroku Saki." "And they competed in all things, but none more fiercely than for the love of a woman...Thang Shin." (Well, we don't have a figure of Shin, so i'll skip forward a bit. Long story short, Shin loves Yoshi, they flee to America, and Saki is mad). "But Saki vowed vengeance, I remember it well. As my master returned home to find his beloved Shin, lying on the floor, and then he saw her killer. Saki wasted no words, and during the struggle, my cage was broken." "I leapt to Saki's face, biting and clawing..." "...but he threw me to the floor and took one swipe with his Katana, slicing my ear." "Then he was gone, and I was alone." The rat would go on to become Master Splinter. And Oroku Saki would become Shredder. If they're going to do deep cuts like that, I can't wait for the action figure of Danny's father! More news at 11:00... "I too once had a family, Danny."

You can choose from 2 different versions of the guide. Both show all figures we have released/announced to date, and one includes an updated gallery of card backer art."

  12. Nice look at Lothar and Mandrake Figures in the Defenders of Earth Line post today from NECA! "King Features has been a dream project for NECA. From their separate beginnings in comic strips to their convergence in the cartoon Defenders of the Earth, The Phantom, Flash Gordon, Ming the Merciless, Lothar, and Mandrake the Magician hold a special place, both in our hearts, and in history.
  13. NECA's 12 days of downloads day 8 makes sure you don't feed them after midnight! Those Winter Gremlins look great to me! "Welcome to a new week of holidays downloads from NECA! Our fan-favorite line of Gremlins action figures has been running for a long time, and this visual guide covers all of the Ultimate releases to date."
  14. For the 90th anniversary of the extraordinary silver-screen classic, NECA presents The Mummy action figure in authentic black-and-white! In this Universal Monsters classic of horror, Boris Karloff shines as the ancient Mummy in a tale of love transcending death. The sculpt captures the intricate special effects makeup that required eight hours to apply and two hours to remove. Standing in 7” scale, the figure comes in premium packaging with interchangeable heads, interchangeable hands, and Egyptian chest that opens. Estimated Shipping: June 2022
  15. NECA has posted a TOTALLY TURTLE visual guide today! It doesn't have anything new to note BUT it does have nice images of things we haven't yet seen released "Since today is turtletuesday, our second visual guide is for NECA's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures from the Mirage Comic Books and the Arcade Video Game!"
  16. BREAKING NEWS FROM TOYFARCE! No exciting announcement to make? No new items or teases to reveal? Fear not! You can always do a packaging reveal! This past week, in the same fashion as that friend we all have that doesn't have anything to say, but still says something (you know the one), several of the big brands didn't have any new products to reveal, so they just revealed the cardboard goodness that our MIB collector friends love so much. NECA started the trend by revealing the packaging of a figure we didn't know we needed, the Universal Monsters x TMNT Frankenstein Raphael figure. The packaging looks stunning with some Universal Monsters/old-timey horror poster vibes. Pre-order yours here! Hasbro followed up, with first some updates for the fully (crowd)funded Ghostbusters Spengler's Proton Pack, of which the campaign ended last night. They posted an update on all social media talking about the cardboard prison of the upcoming prop replica, mentioning that the designers are hard at work to make a fantastic packaging for an "otherworldly unboxing experience". Then, during their Power Rangers Fan First Friday livestream, after announcing their new *inhale* Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Lightning Collection Zord Ascension Project Dino Megazord, the team took a portion of the time to talk cardboard with us, revealing the beautiful design of the packaging. That is a box that is going to be hard to throw away... Pre-order yours here! And finally, at the end of that slow news week, Super7 revealed the packaging art of their upcoming TMNT Ultimates Party Wagon. Super7, who are some of the best at giving us an awesome, sweet, nostalgic unboxing experience with their Ultimates line, didn't disappoint once again, and the art on the box for the humongous vehicle looks fantastic. The TMNT Ultimates Turtle Wagon can still be found here. More news at 11:00... When in doubt, packaging reveal! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  17. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're looking at the latest TMNT Loot Crate from NECA, the one that came with the exclusive Danny Pennington action figure! As is tradition with Loot Crate, the box is filled with useless stuff that will end up in a drawer, but this time, they overdid themselves with the inclusion of the BRIGHTEST FREAKING NEON YELLOW long sleeve t-shirt ever. This box included the Exclusive Danny Pennington figure (more on him later), a set of 2 pins representing Casey Jones and Raphael, if someone drew them from memory (I assume), 2 great coasters with art from the original Mirage comics, and a long sleeve t-shirt that is as bright as the sun. I cannot see anybody wearing this unironically. ("Great! I was missing something to wear to go take out the trash!"). 4 different items, which feels a bit low for a Loot Crate. I remember them packing their boxes a bit more. Anyway, I think most people ordered it for the figure rather than the extra swag (except for that one guy that only wears neon yellow and was super happy with his crate), so let's check out Danny. First impression is that he is a tiny figure. He seems to have the body of a nine year old compared to the other figures, while the actor (Michael Turney) was 16 when he played that character in 1990. The figure is as tall as the Splinter figure from that second wave of TMNT 1990 line. It's weird! Otherwise, the sculpt is pretty good, we can recognize the actor easily. They did some great detail on the Sex Pistols t-shirt to have it movie accurate. Danny comes with 2 heads (bandana, and no bandana) and a walkman (it's that thing we used to carry around before iPods/smartphones existed). The walkman has a cable made of very thin rubber, similar to the one that came with the Tales from Space Marty McFly from their Back to the Future line, and I feel that this will definitely break down if you play with it too much. The figure itself is fine, but as usual with NECA, you have to be super careful with the articulations, and the arms tend to be very fragile and tiny (sorry about the elbow on yours, @JayC). It's a great addition to the 1990 TMNT movie line, but if you don't collect those, that is an easy pass (unless you picked all the crates to get the extra bonus figure). Surprisingly, BigBadToyStore actually has that LootCrate in stock (for a higher price) if you're still looking for it: https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/179267 More news at 11:00... "Danny, are you ok? - Dad... it's just Dan now."
  18. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're taking a look at Goliath, from the new Gargoyles line by NECA. That one came from out of nowhere, and we couldn't be more happier about it. Remember, NECA just kinda dropped the announcement of Goliath in the middle of the night (or middle of the day for people in other timezones), and broke the internet. No fanfare, no teases before that. Basically, it was: "Here, we're doing Gargoyles now." Exciting! The first impression is when you see the box, which is a third bigger than the usual boxes (TMNT, Back to the Future, Horror figures, etc). So when you see said box, you already know that Goliath is going to be a BIG BOY! The art on the front is gorgeous, an old classic promo picture from the 1994 series. Then, when you open it (unless you're an in-box collector, and then you can stop reading here), all you can say is "Wow." Goliath is a beast of a figure. He comes with a couple of interchangeable hands, a book, a hot pepper and a second headsculpt which represents the face he does on the toilet the next day, after eating too much hot pepper (at least that is what we assume). The wing span is gigantic, and people were complaining about the lack of 'closed wings', or 'draped wings', and were already assuming that we'll get a re-release with the draped wings, but NECA has already put that all to sleep with the announcement of Bronx, which will come with Goliath's closed wings, and then, everyone rejoiced. The articulations are what you usually get with NECA, and your figure might have to take a hot bath, but I personally didn't have any issue with them. The tail has a bendy metal wire inside so you can put it however you like, but the tail does kinda help keeping him standing up, since he is a bit top-heavy with the wings and has 'chicken legs', with the reversed articulation. For any person who grew up in the 90's and watched the show when it first aired, this is pure nostalgia and it a no-brainer, you definitely will need it on your shelf. Looking forward to Demona, Bronx and all the others, along with the inevitable stone versions! More news at 11:00... Stone by day, warriors by night, we are GARGOYLES!
