  1. NECA today rounding out their Comic-Con At Home coverage released a few teaser images for upcoming products so that we might guess what they are. The first tease they posted were some images of weapons. This one seems fairly obvious. Our best guess would be that these weapons are for more 8" Retro figures based on the movie "They Live". The Shotgun looks very much like the one coming with the 8" Cloth Retro Nada figure they have coming out very soon. We are thinking maybe a new 2-pack with a second version of Nada and Frank Armitage. Of course we would love to see NECA do 7" Ultimate figures based on They Live, but the 8" Cloth Retro figures seem more likely. The second tease is obviously some kind of heat vision effect piece. Since NECA has previously done DC Comic based figures, you might think this was a tease for some kind of new Superman figure. Based on conversations I've had with NECA, I don't think any more DC Comic based figures are in the cards for them anytime soon, but there is another super being who is well know for using heat vision. Meet Homelander from the hit Amazon series titled "The Boys". The Boys which basically tells a story about superheroes going rogue will soon see the release of a second on the Amazon streaming service, and has already been renewed for a third season. If you haven't seen season 1, we highly recommend you check it out. So our best guess is that NECA is teasing that they have obtained the license to do figures based on this series and if so, we hope they go the 7" Ultimate route as opposed to the 8" Retro Cloth one.
  2. NECA has put up for pre-order on their NECA STORE website two of the Target store exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Animates Series 2-packs. For those who have yet to find these at Target stores, you now have between now and next Friday(9/04) at 11AM EST to pre-order the Rocksteady And Bebop set and/or the Slash And Leatherhead set. Each set will cost $51.99 each plus shipping and handling. These are being done as made-to-order products so you won't have to worry about them selling out. You do have to pay upfront and are limiting these at two per person. They have not yet said when these pre-orders will start shipping out to folks.
  3. Granted this one is a little bit out of our normal wheelhouse, but it recently came to my attention that something troublesome might possibly be afoot in the world of comic books, and yes there is a action figure connection here, so bear with me. Artist Tristan Jones has recently made a claim on social media stating that artist Greg Land has traced his work for the cover of the upcoming ALIENS OMNIBUS VOLUME 1 soon to be released by Marvel Comics. If you hadn't heard, Marvel is taking over from Dark Horse Comics the publishing of Alien and Predator comic books, likely due to Disney's recent acquisition of 20th Century Fox who holds the rights to those properties. This upcoming Omnibus is one of the first Alien offerings being put out by Marvel. For those not familiar, Jones worked on the original 2016 Dark Horse Comic limited-series called Aliens: Defiance as well as doing the packaging art for the NECA action figure based on that same series, hence the action figure connection to this story. Jones states that Land traced his work for the cover of the upcoming Marvel publication and provided visual proof in his accusation. If you do a quick google search on artist Greg Land, it doesn't take you long to see this isn't the first time someone has made an accusation of this type against him. I don't personally follow the inner-workings of the comic book industry enough to know how common a problem this type of thing is, or even if tracing with modifications like the claim states is legally considered plagiarism. I would think it would be, but seeing this isn't the first time Land has been accused of this, and he seems to continue to be employed by a company like Marvel, not to mention Jones is seemingly going to social media instead of seeking out a lawyer, I just don't know. Legal or not it definitely doesn't seem like a very cool thing to do.
  4. For what I believe is NECA's final reveal of the day, they released this teaser images for what appears to be a figure set based on the Spinter's origin story in the 90's TMNT movie. The figures are of Splinters master Hamato Yoshi, Oroku Saki (Shredder before he was Shredder) and a rat in a cage named Spliter before he was transformed. You can see a clip from the movie with the scene here: This will likely be a Walmart exclusive but no other details are available at this time.
  5. NECA has released images for an upcoming Target exclusive Gremlins Back To School figure which they say will be out in August/Setpember time frame. He is dressed for the new school year and comes with some books, baseball and glove, lunchbox with Gizmo on it and a bus stop sign.
  6. NECA back in February during Toy Fair announced they would be releasing new 7" Ultimate figures based on the Back To The Future movie franchise. During that event they showed a Marty McFly figure. Today NECA has announced a few additional figures and products for the line. Back to the Future Ultimate 7 Marty McFly Sporting his signature vest and denim jacket, Marty is ready to meet Doc Brown at the Twin Pines Mall parking lot with camcorder, backpack, and skateboard in hand. Marty also comes with an alternate sunglasses head and a guitar, primed to blow out the giant speaker in Doc’s lab from the movie’s opening scene. Window box packaging. Release August 2020. Back to the Future Ultimate 7 Biff Tannen Dressed in his Enchanment Under the Sea Dance outfit, Ultimate Biff features the licensed likeness of Tom Wilson and comes with interchangeable heads, hands, the Gray’s Sports Almanac and Case from Part 2! Each standing approximately 6″ tall, Marty includes a hoverboard and guitar with strap, Doc comes with goggles, a remote control and Einstein, and Biff with an alternate head! Figures come in blister card packaging. Release August 2020.
  7. NECA announced today that they are looking to offer some of their 90's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie 2-packs on their own NECA store website for both US and International customers this Thursday (7/16). Previously they had said these would only be available at physical Walmart stores. Also the first TMNT wave 3 Animated 2-pack to be released at Target stores will be the one with the Casey Jones & Foot Soldier figures. The official release date for both online and physical stores is this Friday (7/17), but we are seeing reports of folks already starting to find them in stores. The release dates for the other 2-packs in wave 3 are 8/6 and 8/20. We don't yet know which set will be released on which date. Here is the place holder link for the Casey and Foot Soldier set: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - 7" Scale Action Figure - Cartoon Series 3 Casey Jones & Foot Soldier. The deluxe animated series Metalhead figure is also slated to hit shelves and online this Friday at Target. We do not have a placeholder link for that one to share at this time.
  8. NECA has released new images for their upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Secret Of The Ooze Deluxe Super Shredder figure as well as online purchase details. In the US the figure is being released as a Walmart exclusive, however for online purchases you will be able to buy it through the NECA Store website. Starting on August 10th at 1pm EST, a limited quantity of this figure will be made available to the US and International customers in 20+ countries. All orders will be limited to 1 per person. While the exact quantities of this figure being released have not been made public, NECA insists that the quantities have been significantly increased from previous TMNT Movie offerings from Walmart. The figure will also be sold in physical Walmart stores around the same time, though we don't yet have an exact date for when they might start showing up there. Walmart# 579002900, SKU# 269034699, UPC# 634482541289. The figure at Walmart should cost $30, however it is unknown if the price through the NECA store will be the same or if it will be raised some. With some of NECA's other recent Walmart offerings, we've seen the online price be a bit higher than the in-store one. In other related NECA TMNT news, NECA has recently indicated on their social media that if all goes well, folks will have an opportunity to pre-order the Target Exclusive TMNT Animated Series Deluxe Metalhead figure when it gets restocked soon. While this doesn't seemingly appear to be something completely set in stone yet, it does appear NECA is continuing to at least try and make some of this stuff easier to get. It's unknown at this time if NECA plans to take these pre-order on their own website or if this will be offered through the Target website. Hopefully it will be something offered through NECA's website as its a little more prepared against Scalper Bots than Target's own website is. As more details on this become available, we will be sure to pass them on to you.
  9. The King of Rock and Roll has arrived! NECA is proud to announce that Elvis Presley, the best-selling solo musician of all time, will be joining their line of 7" scale action figures! The NECA studio artists have recreated Elvis's live in concert appearance from the Spring of 1972 in painstaking detail. Wearing a white jumpsuit decorated with various sequins and jewelry, he is sculpted to precision in the iconic cape spread pose! Look for it to be released in December 2020.
  10. Some images have shown up on Distrito Max giving us a look at what appears to be two new variant Godzilla figures coming from NECA. Shown is a variant of the Godzilla Figure from Godzilla vs Biollante (1989) which is being called Biollante Bile Covered Godzilla and the other is a variant of the Godzilla Figure from Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S figure which is being called Kiryu’s Blast Attack Godzilla. Look for more details to be released on these soon.
  11. For the 6th release from NECA's collaboration with renowned movie director Guillermo Del Toro comes The Old Faun! From the dark fantasy film, Pan's Labyrinth, the Faun comes with a new head sculpt and paint deco to portray his aged appearance in the film. Standing over 9 inches tall, the Faun is super poseable and comes with detailed satchels and a bone flute. Deluxe window boxed packaging with brand new artwork. You can pre-order this figure from our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com.
  12. NECA has released updated images for their Back to the Future Toony Classics which you can pre-order now from our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com. The 6"figures which are based on the animated series include Marty, Biff, and Doc Brown with Einstein the dog. The Delorean vehicle for this line which was on display at Toy Fair is currently on hold for the time being.
  13. NECA has announced that they will be taking pre-order's for the Target exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Deluxe Metalhead figure on their own website for both US and International folks starting on 8/14 at 12pm ET. The pre-order will last until Friday 8/21 at 11am ET. This will be done as a made to order type deal which means you won't have to worry about it selling out in seconds. They will be limited to two per household and will ship out to folks in November. You have to pay up front when you pre-order. The figure I guess is still technically considered a Target exclusive so you might still find them on shelves there, but this will be a much easier way to get the figure for those who don't have Target's nearby or stock NECA stuff very well. We assume the figure will still cost $30 as it does at Target stores, however you will have to pay shipping which seems to average for those in the US around $12-$22 depending on where you live. That is what shipping was running for the Movie Deluxe Super Shredder that sold on their site earlier this week. The TMNT Movie Replica Casey Jones Mask will also be available for pre-order at the same time.
  14. NECA today along with Judith Hoag who played the character April O' Neil in the original 90's TMNT movie announced that a new April O' Neil figure featuring the actresses likeness would be coming. The figure like the recent Tokka & Rahzar 2-Pack will be put up for pre-order and be done made to order so you won't have to worry about it selling out. Specific details about the pre-order will come at a later date. Look for Judith to post production stages of the figure on her own YouTube in the coming days. With a April O' Neil figure in the works, could an unmasked Casey Jones figure be far behind? Actor Elias Koteas who played Casey recently indicated on social media that he was now open to the idea of having his likeness featured on a Casey Jones action figure. NECA had originally sculpted an unmasked head for Casey, but was unable to include it with the recently released 2-pack because they had not been able to secure the likeness rights. Seems like an April and Unmasked Casey 2-Pack could be the way to go, what do you think? Let us know in the COMMENTS SECTION.
  15. NECA has announced this new Christmas In July Gremlins 2-pack which is said to be based on marketing and newspaper ads from 1984. This set will be out later this fall.
  16. NECA today has announced that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie 7" Scale Tokka & Rahzar 2-Pack will no long be sold at Walmart like was originally said. Now the figure will go up for pre-order on NECA's own online store stating this Friday 7/31 to Friday(8/7). Customers in the US and over 20 international countries will have 1 week to place their pre-order. The set will cost $70 and is said to start shipping out in 3 month (November). They will be limited 2 per household and will be done as a made to order item. Which means the pre-order isn't going to sell out during the week it's up. Now once the week is over, that is it. According to NECA this will be the only way to acquire the Tokka & Rahzar 2 Pack! The Deluxe Super Shredder figure will also be available online through NECA's website shortly after the Tokka & Rahzar 2 Pack sale ends. Shredder which will also be available at physical Walmart stores WON'T be done as a pre-order, so it can sell out. They have said that they did significantly increase quantities for both online and physical store sales on Shredder, so hopefully it won't be as hard to find as other stuff. NECA to there credit has also taken steps on their own website to try and slow down the scalper bots. For more details on all this be sure to check out Pixel Dan's recent interview with NECA's Randy Falk. Check out new images for Tokka & Rahzar below.
  17. We don't know if you will ever actually be able to find these on shelves, but NECA has revealed new images for their upcoming Target exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series Krang With Android Body which will be a deluxe figure released in the 3rd quarter of 2020. Also shown for the first time is their upcoming Mondo Gecko which will be in wave 5. Wave 5 should be out by the end of the year or early next year. Krang will be out in September Images for Muckman, Joe Eyeball will be joinung Mondo Gecko and Vernon added. Also added is the Rat King which will join Vernon in 2021.
  18. NECA has released a teaser showing the packaging for their upcoming The Alien 40th Anniversary collection. They say there will be three different series of figures in new anniversary packaging. Each series will contain 3 figures. Series 1 will be available at Target stores in April/May with news on series 2 and 3 being revealed next month at Toy Fair. As for what figures will be included, NECA isn't yet saying much other than releasing an image of a figure for the Samuel Brett character. They also confirmed all the figures for this will be based on the first Alien movie with new debuts, figures with new accessories and figures with new printed facial decos. They also hinted we may see a figure based on the John Hurt Kane character. The packaging teaser indicates figures of Ripley, Dallas and The Alien. It's not clear if the packaging shown is random or if that is meant to show the characters in the first wave. Toy Fair kicks on on February 22. We will be sure to update this story as more details become available.
  19. NECA slipped out one more product reveal this evening showing off a prototype for their upcoming TMNT Video Game Baxter Stockman figure which they do say will have a huge mutated hand and is completely different from the toon version. They also say it will be 50% larger than the toon version. They also issued a statement in regards to recent events with so many people having problems getting their hands on their TMNT products from Target, Walmart and even their own online store.
