  2. From writer/director James Gunn comes Warner Bros. Pictures' superhero action-adventure THE SUICIDE SQUAD, featuring a collection of the most degenerate delinquents in the DC lineup. Welcome to hell -- a.k.a. Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out -- even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today's do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and everyone's favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and-destroy mission with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave ... and Amanda Waller's government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they're dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyone's laying down bets, the smart money is against them -- all of them. The Suicide Squad stars Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Idris Elba, John Cena, Peter Capaldi, Alice Braga, Sean Gunn, Taika Waititi, Michael Rooker, Nathan Fillion, David Dastmalchian, Pete Davidson, Daniela Melchior, Steve Agee, Storm Reid, Joaquin Cosio, Mayling Ng, Juan Diego Botto, Julio Ruiz, Flula Borg, Jennifer Holland Release: August 6th, 2021 (HBO MAX And Theaters)

Stroma, will play Vigilante, otherwise known as Adrian Chase, a hand-to-hand combatant, a brilliant marksman and a master of the lariat. He was a New York City DA who sought justice in his own way as his alter ego after his wife and kids were killed by mobsters. Vigilante also has the ability to heal quickly and regenerate his body from injuries as serious as stabbings or gunshot wounds. Conrad had originally been cast to play the character but is leaving amicably due to creative differences. Peacemaker will be a straight-to-series eight episode order with The Suicide Squad director writing all episodes and directing a number of them. Gunn and The Suicide Squad producer Peter Safran will serve as executive producers of the series, with John Cena as co-executive producer. Peacemaker will be produced by Gunn’s Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company in association with Warner Bros. Television. Source: Deadline

The preview offers a behind-the-scenes look at who's playing who -- it's the official line-up of the comic book characters that will be featured in the movie, plus some first-look on-set footage that was just revealed at the DC FanDome event. The upcoming WB film, which is a sequel/soft reboot of the 2016 comic book blockbuster, will see the return of Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), and Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) as they join a new formation of "The Suicide Squad." The Suicide Squad stars Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Idris Elba, John Cena, Peter Capaldi, Alice Braga, Sean Gunn, Taika Waititi, Michael Rooker, Nathan Fillion, David Dastmalchian, Pete Davidson, Daniela Melchior, Steve Agee, Storm Reid, Joaquin Cosio, Mayling Ng, Juan Diego Botto, Julio Ruiz, Flula Borg, Jennifer Holland Release: August 6th, 2021
  9. James Gunn answered questions concerning the movies he is currently working on for DC and Marvel and assured that the release dates have not changed. Gunn is currently working on a double header when it comes to Superhero movies with The Suicide Squad for DC and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for Marvel.
  10. Director James Gunn took to Twitter and announced the potential 24 cast members for The Suicide Squad. We have discussed many of the names listed below but Gunn has additional names including his brother, Sean Gunn, Mayling Ng, Juan Diego Botto, Alice Braga, Tinashe Kajese, Julio Ruiz, Michael Rooker and Gunn’s girlfriend Jennifer Holland. 11. According to TheWrap, the supervillain King Shark appears to be one of the newest characters to The Suicide Squad sequel and Guardians of the Galaxy alum Michael Rooker is in talks to play the role. Created by Karl Kesel in 1994, the supervillain King Shark is a humanoid shark and the son of Chondrakha, the God of all Sharks. Introduced as a Superboy villain, King Shark has been a member of the Secret Six, the Secret Society of Super-Villains and the Suicide Squad. The sequel to 2016's Suicide Squad is written and will be directed by Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn. The sequel will have a completely new take on the property, in which DC supervillains are recruited by the government to carry out secret missions too dirty for the likes of Superman and Batman. Peter Safran and Charles Roven are producing. The sequel to 2016’s “Suicide Squad” will hit theaters on Aug. 6, 2021.
  12. According to THR, the next Suicide Squad movie which is being written and likely directed by ex-Guardian Of The Galaxy director James Gunn will be released in 2021 and is expected to be more of a relaunch with mostly all-new cast, than a sequel to the 2016 movie. The title for this one is simply "The Suicide Squad", which will take the franchise into an all-new direction with more of a Guardians of the Galaxy feel to it. In other words, Warner Bros. seems to be moving more and more away from their previously established Snyder DCverse. This would be in keeping with the other recent big DC movie news about the next Batman movie featuring a younger Bruce Wayne and no longer having Ben Affleck in the role of the capped crusader.
  13. THR reports that former Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn who was recently fired from Disney for old tweets he made regarding rape and pedophilia will now be heading to Warner Bros. to pen the script for the next DC Comic based Suicide Squad movie. No word yet on whether or not he will direct the film or not.
