  1. The critically acclaimed Max Original adult-animated series HARLEY QUINN has been renewed for a fifth season. Season 4 logline: This biting and uproarious adult animated comedy follows Harley Quinn (voiced by executive producer Kaley Cuoco) as she strikes out on her own following her breakup with The Joker (Alan Tudyk). With help from Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) and a ragtag crew of DC castoffs, Harley attempts to work her way into the Legion of Doom, before an identity crisis sends her on a larger quest to find her true place in Gotham City. With appearances by DC’s most notorious characters and featuring a notable voice cast – including Christopher Meloni, Ron Funches, JB Smoove, Tony Hale, and others – HARLEY QUINN showcases the titular antiheroine’s killer journey from girlfriend to leading lady. Collider declared HARLEY QUINN Season 4 “as irreverent and funny as ever,” noting that it “sets up a potentially dynamite Season 5.” IGN called it “wildly ambitious and audacious” with “meticulously detailed” animation. AV Club hailed it as an “excellent animated series” and “a delight to watch,” noting that “the show’s voice cast never disappoints.” Suzanna Makkos, Executive Vice President, Original Comedy and Adult Animation, Max and Adult Swim, quote: “The talented Harley Quinn team has once again succeeded in delivering a season that builds on everything that has come before while still feeling fresh and inventive. They continue to provide hilarious, heartwarming, and deranged stories with our lovable group of DC misfits, and we couldn’t be more excited for the fans to see what they’ve accomplished in season 5.” Peter Girardi, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Warner Bros. Animation, quote: "Harley Quinn has raised the comedic crowbar with every new season. We’re excited to continue this partnership with Max and take our biggest swing yet for season 5." Executive Producers Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey, quote: “We’re thrilled that the news of Harley and Ivy’s continuing misadventures is finally out and we can stop telling people in secret. We must have handed out at least three thousand NDAs by now. It was a big waste of paper.” Season 5 credits: Based on characters from DC, HARLEY QUINN is produced by Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions, Lorey Stories, and Yes, Norman Productions in association with Warner Bros. Animation. The series was developed by Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey. Dean Lorey serves as Executive Producer and Showrunner. Executive Producers are Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, Kaley Cuoco, Sam Register, and Katie Rich. Co-Executive Producer is Chrissy Romero. Supervising Producers are Cecilia Aranovich Hamilton and Ian Hamilton. The producer is Susan Ward. The Consulting Producers are Jamiesen Borak and Leslie Schapira. Co-Producer is Vidhya Iyer. Max recently announced a new HARLEY QUINN animated spin-off series titled KITE MAN: HELL YEAH! debuting in 2024, in which Kite Man and Golden Glider take their relationship to the next level by opening a bar in the shadow of Lex Luthor’s Legion of Doom.
  2. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the brand new Harley Quinn 1/6 scale figure from the Batman: The Animated Series line by Mondo. This line has been pretty awesome so far, and Harley Quinn is another homerun. The deeper we get into that line, the better it gets! As is tradition, the box is one of those boxes that you just can't throw away. They're also pretty big, so you have to have some space to store them (thanks, Mondo...). The front of the box opens to reveal a window, with velcro (which used to be magnets). This is the timed edition of the figure, which has a few bonus items, including the hyenas. There are 2 levels of inserts. Harleen Quinzel, aka Harley Quinn comes with a ton of fun accessories: 4 extra heads (including an unmasked one), 4 extra pairs of hands, her 2 hyenas Bud and Lou, with their bowl, a steak and a bone, a hammer, a joker scepter, a handbag, a mannequin arm, Batman's belt, Batman's handcuffs, her purse, a bottle of poison perfume and a certificate that declares her sane. This set is really close to be the 12-inch version of the DC Collectibles Expression set, minus the fish outfit, a couple of firearms and a few heads. The heads are relatively easy to change, the pegs on the hands are slightly too short, with the hands getting out of the pegs easily if you move the figure around too much. The Hyenas have no articulation at all, which is a bit sad. A neck articulation at least would have made them slightly better. The articulation is way better than Mondo's previous Catwoman figure, and Harley can definitely move a bit better. The next 1/6 scale Batman: The Animated Series figures from Mondo are Man-Bat and the Phantasm from Mask of the Phantasm (both were already pre-ordered with the quickness). More news at 11:00... RIP Arleen Sorkin

HARLEY QUINN season four debuts with three episodes THURSDAY, JULY 27 on Max, followed by a new episode weekly through September 14. With help from Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) and a ragtag crew of DC castoffs, Harley attempts to work her way into the Legion of Doom, before an identity crisis sends her on a larger quest to find her true place in Gotham City. 5. The critically-acclaimed Max Original adult-animated series HARLEY QUINN has been renewed for a fourth season, ahead of the season three finale on September 15. Sarah Peters (“Workaholics,” “Master of None,” “Nathan For You”), who has written on the series since season one and currently serves as consulting producer, will be elevated to executive producer and serve as showrunner for season four. Season 3 logline: In season three of the biting and uproarious adult animated comedy series, Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco) and Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) wrap up their “Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour” and return to Gotham as the new power couple of DC villainy. Along with their ragtag crew – King Shark (Ron Funches), Clayface (Alan Tudyk), Frank the Plant (JB Smoove) - "Harlivy" strives to become the best version of themselves while also working towards Ivy’s long-desired plan of transforming Gotham into an Eden paradise. Season 3 cast: Kaley Cuoco (Harley Quinn), Lake Bell (Poison Ivy), Ron Funches (King Shark), JB Smoove (Frank the Plant), Alan Tudyk (Clayface/The Joker), Matt Oberg (Kite Man), Christopher Meloni (Commissioner Gordon), Andy Daly (Two-Face), Diedrich Bader (Batman/Bruce Wayne), James Adomian (Bane), Sanaa Lathan (Selina Kyle), Briana Cuoco (Batgirl/Barbara Gordon), Harvey Guillen (Nightwing). With a 100% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, A.V. Club notes that the third season “continues to fire on all cylinders,” IGN hailed it as “insane, blood-soaked, and hilarious” and SlashFilm called it “a breath of fresh air.” Billy Wee, Senior Vice President of Comedy & Animation, HBO Max quote: “Patrick Schumacker, Justin Halpern, and their incredible team of artists and writers have created something so explosively funny and original and we are thrilled to continue this journey with them and the show’s legion of fans. It has been amazing to watch the show grow and evolve this season and we could not ask for a more talented and dedicated team of collaborators.” Peter Girardi, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Warner Bros. Animation quote: “Three seasons down and I can't even begin to think about the new levels of chaos and trouble that Harley, Ivy, and the gang can get into with a fourth season. But I'm grateful to our partners at HBO Max for continuing this insane ride with us so we can all find out.” Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, Executive Producers quote: “We are ecstatic that HBO Max wants the story of Harley and Ivy to continue. And we are equally thrilled that this next season will be in great hands with Sarah Peters as our showrunner and Ceci Aranovich overseeing animation production, as they have both greatly influenced the show with their brilliance since the beginning.” Season 3 credits: Based on characters from DC, HARLEY QUINN is produced by Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions and Yes, Norman Productions in association with Warner Bros. Animation. The series was developed by Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey. Executive Producers are Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, Kaley Cuoco, Sam Register, Jessica Goldstein, and Chrissy Pietrosh.

  7. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the latest 2 offerings from the Star Ace Toys Batman Ninja 1/6 figure line, Harley Quinn and the Modern Suit version of Batman. Yes, this is a double review! Star Ace Toys happened to release both these figures at the same time, and I didn't feel like doing 2 separate reviews for those (I like my variety!). Like mentioned in the previous reviews of those figures (Batman Ninja, Joker, Catwoman), I know that the Batman Ninja anime is very divisive: the story is bonkers, there are samurai fights and mechas made of monkeys and bats, but it's so "out there" that i can't help it: it's a guilty pleasure. Also, I really love the character designs in it. The feudal japan take on the characters was pretty awesome. First off, Harley Quinn. The box is gorgeous, like all the boxes from that line. Kudos to the packaging designer! This is the deluxe version so there is an extra insert, cleverly hidden under the first one, with the extra pieces. Harley comes with extra hands, a large rattle drum (looking just like her usual giant mallet), a gourd, a bomb and a flower bomb. The "Deluxe" parts are the extra smiling face plate, an extra gun and an extra hand (to hold the extra gun). Both faceplates are held by magnets and both include moveable eyes, which is pretty great in a day and age when Hot Toys seems to be stingy with the moveable eyes... Just like Catwoman, Harley has a seamless body, in all its weird squishiness. Good articulation, but a bit hindered by the seamless body, which won't let you bend her leg too high as it just goes back down because of the rubber. For example, that pose in the promo pics where she had a foot on her large rattle drum? That won't happen, which is kinda sad. The outfit has great tailoring, another thing that Star Ace Toys seems to know how to do very well. Both heads look really good, even if she does look a bit more on the anime side than the other figures. Definitely looks like a Harley Quinn, though, so why complain? The Modern Suit Batman... is kind of a weird release, I'll admit. We see the 'current day' Batman only for a few minutes in the anime, and it's really not the reason why one would watch a movie called 'Batman Ninja', but the figure did come with light-up feature and a really nice Bruce Wayne headsculpt, so I picked it up too. (Wait... Bruce Wayne is Batman?!). Like Harley, the figure comes with a second 'hidden' insert in the box, with the extra accessories for the Deluxe version. Batman comes with extra hands, 2 batarangs (one with a magnet, which we'll get back to in a minute), and a grappling gun. The Deluxe version adds the unmasked headsculpt, a spear, 2 bombs, the quake engine and a fun japanese arrest warrant. The figure has a light up feature on the chest and in the head. For the chest, you just need to add a small battery in the back of the figure, and a little switch, while for the head, there is a removable part (see pic), to add a battery in. To turn the head light on, you need to use the batarang with the magnet and just touch the forehead of the figure for the light to turn on. (Freaking magnets, how do they work?!). The suit is a bit like the Ninja version, a mix of rubbery/faux leather, which is a bit thick and hinders articulations A LOT, and plastic parts on top. If you keep him in a static pose, it looks awesome. If you want more dynamic poses, it might not be for you. The figure still looks gorgeous on a shelf though. Another nitpick is that it's slightly bigger than its Ninja counterpart, while you would imagine the Ninja one to be bigger with all the armor on. It is a bit odd and he looks like he's in a different scale. Here are all the Batman Ninja figures from Star Ace Toys. The next one should be a version 2.0 of the Batman Ninja one, and there's even a version that comes with a 1/6 freaking horse (!), but I think i will pass on those, as I am running out of space on that Batman Ninja shelf... Time will tell! More news at 11:00... Go ninja go ninja go!
  8. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the brand new Arkham Knight Harley Quinn one sixth scale figure from Hot Toys. Hot Toys has kept releasing and announcing high quality one sixth scale figures throughout 2021, but it was mostly Marvel and Star Wars stuff... until in the last few days of 2022, when the 2 previously announced Arkham Knight figures of Harley Quinn and Batgirl both came out within a few days of each other. Thanks, Hot Toys, I hated having money on my account anyway... The box art is reminescent of the other Arkham Knight figures (Batman and the Arkham Knight himself), with some art of the character in the front, and... not much else. Harley comes in her Arkham Knight costume (duh), along with multiple accessories: extra hands, her giant mallet, a baseball bat, an articulated Jack-in-the-box and, surprisingly, a gun and an assault rifle complete with pink dices and a photo of her Mistah J. It's a bit disappointing that the figure comes with only one headsculpt/facial expression, especially since it's so incredibly bland. A character like Harley deserves at least a laughing head, or even a "screaming maniacally as she bashes your brains out with her giant mallet" expression. Because of that one bland expression, it kinda limits the figure in terms of poses. Having her wielding her baseball bat, mallet or machine gun with such a basic expression could have looked better. Also, the arms are seamless, and parts of the costume are made with some kind of pleather (leggings, arm bracers), which looks like it's not going to be durable, and bending the legs or arms of the figure will definitely leave some sort of mark or 'crease' in the long term, as is tradition with Hot Toys. Use with caution, even though it's a toy, and you should still pose it however you want. (...bUt ThE ReSaLe VaLuE!?). Here she is, finally reunited with her Mistah J! Batgirl should arrive in the next few days, so another Hot Toys DC figure review should be coming soon. More news at 11:00... "How's it going, Bat-brain? It´s been a while!"

  13. Begins as an episode before the events of Batman: Arkham Knight, Harley Quinn breaks into the overgrown Blüdhaven Police Department to recruit her partner in crime, Poison Ivy, to be part of Scarecrow's plan to destroy the B-Man. Based on the incredibly popular Batman: Arkham Knight videogame, Hot Toys is thrilled to present the 1/6th scale Harley Quinn collectible figure with the new look mixed with goth and punk, giving her a more edgy and sinister appearance that reflects her unstable and wild personality. Masterfully crafted based on Harley Quinn’s appearance in the video game, the figure features a newly developed head sculpt with white powdered make up, blonde hair sculpture and moveable pigtails, newly developed body, Harley Quinn’s dramatic outfit consisting of a corset with black ruffle skirt and lace details, red and blue boots and arm-bracers, amazingly-detailed accessories including baseball bat, machine gun, mallet, pistol, paint can with brush, Jack-in-the-box, and a specially designed figure stand with game logo.
  14. Warner Bros has moved up their home release of the new Harley Quinn Birds of Prey movie to March 24. The movie should cost $19.99 to buy on most major digital download platforms, and will be available for rental in April. The move to release the movie even as it still plays in theaters comes on the heels that most movie theaters are shutting down for at least several weeks in this country due to coronavirus fears. Other studios like Universal are making similar moves by releasing current movies at home such “Trolls World Tour,” “The Hunt” and “The Invisible Man,”. It's a good bet that other studios will soon follow with similar moves. This of course will only work for movies already completed. Studios have temporarily shut down production on most in development movies and TV shows over the last serveral days, again as a result of the Covid-19 virus and attempts from trying to keep it from spreading.
  15. Hot Toys has revealed at their DC All-Stars event a few new 1/6 figures for both the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 movie And Arkham Knight video game series. For WW84 we have a regular version of Diana and one in the gold suit. For the Arkham video game they are doing Harley Quinn. Harley also has figures coming from the Birds of Prey movie which we had previously seen. One other figure on display was the Batman Forever Batman figure. Check out some images from the event below.
  16. Who needs The Joker? After breaking up with her puddin, our totally insane and downright dangerous Harley Quinn leaves plenty of the past behind, returns to the big screen with a whole new gang, takes on new challenges in the crime-ridden Gotham City featuring things that she would never expect. Carried on the craziness in her outfit to Birds of Prey, Hot Toys’ brand new 1/6th scale Harley Quinn (Caution Tape Jacket Version) collectible figure does not only includes Harley Quinn’s newest attire, the Wings Caution Tape Jacket with colorful fringes patterns, but also another delicate set of iconic costume as seen when she storms the police station, allowing fans to show off with Harley’s unique wardrobe. Crafted with meticulous craftsmanship, the collectible figure features a newly developed head sculpt highlighting amazing likeness of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn in Birds of Prey, a Caution Tape Jacket with classic motorcycle collar detail translated Harley’s original creation, a set of finely tailored interchangeable outfit with matching boots, amazingly-detailed accessories including a shotgun with insertable bullets, a metallic baseball bat, layered chain necklaces, a sandwich, and a figure stand with specially designed graphic cards and character backdrop.
  17. Birds of Prey opened in theaters this weekend to lackluster box office results. The movie is projected to bring in only $34 million this weekend, which would give it the distinction of being the lowest opening DC-based movie since the horrible “Jonah Hex” movie back in 2010. The movie received fairly strong reviews and decent praise from many of the fans who actually went to see it in the theaters. I haven’t seen the movie myself so I can’t speak to whether it’s a good movie or not, but the question still begs to be answered — why aren’t more people going to see it. Obviously I can’t speak for everyone, just myself and why I haven’t been motivated to go see it. I am sure over the course of the next few weeks, you will hear plenty of theories on why the movie bombed. Some will likely blame the “R” rating, even though that didn’t seem to really hurt movies like Joker and Deadpool. Some will likely try to blame the movie’s poor performance as being some type of feminist agenda hatched by the studio for female power that went astray. For me, I cite two main reasons. First, I am discovering that my interest in traveling to a movie theater and paying for expensive movie tickets and snack prices seems to decrease with each passing year. Maybe it’s an age thing. My general feeling is I am just as content to wait a few extra months and watch it from the comfort of my home. Like many, I have a nice sound system, a big flatscreen HDTV on the wall, and a nice comfy couch to watch movies on. I really don’t need a movie theater to have that movie experience. I did go see Joker in theaters, but honestly I would have been just as content if I waited and watched it at home. At home, I wouldn’t have had to be patted down by security to make sure I wasn’t sneaking a gun into the theater or be worried about getting shot, which was big concern for Joker, at least according to the mainstream media. Still that’s really not the biggest reason for me to not go see this one in theaters. For me, it’s more that I have just lost interest in the DC movie universe. Ever since Justice League and its poor performance at the box office, DC and Warner Bros. seem to have lost faith in their own product. In turn, this seems to have caused a total lack of cohesive direction. Yes, I am spoiled by Marvel movies. I want a cohesive DC Universe just like I have a cohesive Marvel Universe. There are many characters Marvel has given movies that I generally don’t have a huge interest in, but I go to see them because I want to see the puzzle piece they bring to the overall picture. That seems to have been lost with DC ever since Justice League, because Warner Bros doesn’t seem to have enough faith in their universe to continue on. So now we end up with these movies that can’t decide what they want to do. Sure, some are better than others. I liked Shazam but it really didn’t do much to further the DCU. They couldn’t even get Henry Cavill to do a proper cameo, so we ended up seeing some guys chest. We don’t even know if Cavill will be Superman again, and seemingly neither does Warner Bros. Don’t even get me started on Batman. Here is the thing, I enjoyed Margot Robbie’s performance of Harley in the Suicide Squad movie, and I don’t doubt she gave a strong performance in this movie. I have always thought Harley is a strong supporting character, which is what she was created to be. Do I really think she is an interesting enough character to carry a solo movie? No, and since I have no idea what connection this movie has, if any, to the previous Suicide Squad one — which is in the process of being totally revamped by James Gunn with an almost all-new cast, or the Jared Leto Joker and Ben Affleck Batman… or wait is it the Joaquin Phoenix Joker and the younger Robert Pattinson Batman now???? I don’t know, and honestly I don’t think Warner Bros does either. With this lackluster box-office performance, Robbie probably will be ousted by the studio and replaced by someone else next time we see Harley on the screen. At the end of the day, If Warner Bros. can’t stand behind these things, then why should I be bothered to be interested enough to go check it out? I will watch Birds of Prey eventually, but likely from the comfort of my home. Did you go see the movie? If so let us know your thoughts about it. If not, let us know why in the COMMENT SECTION below.
  18. The newest DC Comics based movie has hit theaters with Birds of Prey, which features actress ‎Margot Robbie reprising her Suicide Squad role of Harley Quinn. While I have yet to see the film, initial reviews and reactions overall seem to be pretty positive. Even before the movies release, I have gotten a lot of questions from folks asking about action figures??? While the rated R movie does not seem to be getting a full fledged dedicated action figure line, a number of companies are releasing product for the film based primarily on the lead character of Harley. Here is a rundown of all the figures we know of that are coming. Birds of Prey Gallery Harley Quinn Statue From DST A Diamond Select Toys release! Harley's back, and this time she's got her mallet! You can pre-order these from our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com. DC Multiverse Birds of Prey Harley Quinn 7" Figure From McFarlane Toys While we have yet to get an official announcement or see any official images, all indications are that McFarlane Toys will be doing a 7" version of Harley from the movie for their new DC Multiverse line. The biggest indication of this, is that the character is featured on the back of the packaging of various other DC Multiverse figures already released. It seemed like the plan was to release the figure with the initial batch of DC Multiverse stuff on shelves now, but was then held back for some reason. The figure had been listed in several retail computer systems along with the other figures, and we have even seen UPC and SKU#'s for it. SKU: 557109848 UPS: 78792615801 DC 7" Movie Harley Quinn As to why the figure was seemingly held back, or when we will see it actually released remains unknown. I am sure those details will come to light later this month during the New York Toy Fair, which kicks off on February 22. If the movie is a success, which initial indications are that it will be, I am sure this list will grow. I could definitely see a company like Mezco doing a One:12 Collective version, or Medicom delivering us a MAFEX one. We might even see other characters beyond Harley getting the figure treatment, but only time will tell.

Meet the gang leader, behind Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), and go inside the mind of an unhinged antihero who’s breaking all the rules.
