  1. Two new official movie posters for 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' have been released for the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con. The film is being directed by Michael Dougherty (“Krampus”), and stars Oscar nominees Vera Farmiga (“Up in the Air,” “The Conjuring” films), and Ken Watanabe (“The Last Samurai”) and Sally Hawkins (“Blue Jasmine”), both reprising their “Godzilla” roles; Kyle Chandler (“The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Manchester by the Sea”); Millie Bobby Brown (“Stranger Things”) in her feature film debut; Bradley Whitford (“Get Out”); Thomas Middleditch (HBO’s “Silicon Valley”); Charles Dance (HBO’s “Game of Thrones”); O’Shea Jackson Jr. (“Straight Outta Compton”); Aisha Hinds (“Star Trek Into Darkness”); and Golden Globe nominee Zhang Ziyi (“Memoirs of a Geisha,” “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”). The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance. Dougherty directs from a script he wrote with Zach Shields. The film is being produced by Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Brian Rogers and Thomas Tull, with Barry H. Waldman, Zach Shields, Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira serving as executive producers and Alexandra Mendes co-producing for Legendary. A presentation of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, the film is currently scheduled for release in March 2019, and will be distributed in 3D and 2D and in select IMAX theaters by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, except in Japan, where it will be distributed by Toho Co., Ltd.
  2. Check out the first teaser trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters featuring Millie Bobby Brown, who is trying to communicate with Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island‘s Monarch. 3. As seen in 2001's "Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack," here's Mr. G himself, sculpted with an amazing amount of detail in X Plus's adorable "DefoReal" style! Although he's more cuddly-looking than normal, this Godzilla still plainly means business, crouching in a threatening way and baring his teeth. You can pre-order this now at BigBadToyStore.com.
  4. Entertainment Weekly was able to reveal two never before seen images from Godzilla: King of the Monsters and talked to the director Michael Dougherty about how this new Godzilla movie is going to relate to the 2014’s Godzilla. “The world is reacting to Godzilla in the same way we would react to any other terrifying incident, in that we are overreacting,” says director Michael Dougherty. "There’s paranoia and endless speculation about whether he is the only one out there or whether we’re threatened by others like his kind.” Other beasts to be included in King of the Monsters is the three-headed King Ghidorah, the giant insect Mothra, and another flying monster, Rodan, who in the original Japanese movies could create hurricane-force winds. “Rodan’s been kind of a sidekick character, but I’ve always had a soft spot for him” says Dougherty. “In a lot of ways he’s more powerful than Godzilla. He’s like this winged A-bomb. I think we’ve done him justice.” Godzilla also reveals he has the ability to exhale “atomic breath.” Dougherty comments, "It takes place at a very key moment and it’s a sort of call to arms.” Besides all the big beasts, the 2019 movie will also have some humans in it including Dr. Emma Russell (Vera Farmiga), a scientist working for the beastie-hunting organization Monarch, and her daughter Madison, who is portrayed by Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown. The pair are kidnapped by what Dougherty describes as “a mysterious organization, with their own plans for the creatures.” The director cast Kyle Chandler as Mark Russell, Emma’s ex-husband and Madison’s father, who embarks on a rescue mission with Godzilla veterans Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins.
