  1. It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce reviews! This week, we're having a look at 2 more of the NECA figures that were available during the NECA Haul-a-Thon at Target: Demona and Bronx from the Gargoyles line. The NECA Haul-a-thon was a 4-weeks event that happened at Target and on Costumes.com, where a bunch of figures were available for a limited time there, before being available online everywhere. Demona, one of the most dangerous gargoyles in the world, comes loaded with accessories: one extra 'angry' faceplate, 4 extra hands, an articulated Grimorum Arcanorum (can be opened to reveal text!), a "plasma beam weapon" and a bazooka! That girl is packing a lot of heat! Just like Goliath (and the repaint Thailog), she comes only with wide open wings, so she will occupy a lot of space on your shelf (unless a smaller character comes with closed wings later on, more on that later). That figure looks really good and has a ton of articulations. There was also no stiffness on any joints (which used to be an issue with NECA figures). Right out of the box, she looks amazing. If you want her to be even more scary, just remove the face plate and display her like that! Bronx, the loyal gargoyle-beast is an impressive toy. It has a ton of articulations and looks fantastic. He comes with a extra 'angry' headsculpt, and a piece of meat to chew on. More importantly, he comes with Goliath's closed wings, which will allow you to display Goliath in a more neutral pose, and man, does he look awesome with those wings! The wide open wings are now in storage, and he will be forever displayed with the closed wings. I hope we'll see more of those coming as accessories with other characters, or an eventual accessory pack. Having the whole Manhattan Clan displayed with open wings will take up too much space, but the closed wings will enable you to buy more! More news at 11:00... Stone by day, warriors by night... the Gargoyles!
  2. "It is the nature of humankind to fear what they do not understand." Showcased at the NYCC 2021 Panel, The Disney Afternoon Goliath Gallery Diorama Concept Art has been shown by Diamond Select! Coming in 2022. Stay tuned for more info.
  3. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're taking a look at Goliath, from the new Gargoyles line by NECA. That one came from out of nowhere, and we couldn't be more happier about it. Remember, NECA just kinda dropped the announcement of Goliath in the middle of the night (or middle of the day for people in other timezones), and broke the internet. No fanfare, no teases before that. Basically, it was: "Here, we're doing Gargoyles now." Exciting! The first impression is when you see the box, which is a third bigger than the usual boxes (TMNT, Back to the Future, Horror figures, etc). So when you see said box, you already know that Goliath is going to be a BIG BOY! The art on the front is gorgeous, an old classic promo picture from the 1994 series. Then, when you open it (unless you're an in-box collector, and then you can stop reading here), all you can say is "Wow." Goliath is a beast of a figure. He comes with a couple of interchangeable hands, a book, a hot pepper and a second headsculpt which represents the face he does on the toilet the next day, after eating too much hot pepper (at least that is what we assume). The wing span is gigantic, and people were complaining about the lack of 'closed wings', or 'draped wings', and were already assuming that we'll get a re-release with the draped wings, but NECA has already put that all to sleep with the announcement of Bronx, which will come with Goliath's closed wings, and then, everyone rejoiced. The articulations are what you usually get with NECA, and your figure might have to take a hot bath, but I personally didn't have any issue with them. The tail has a bendy metal wire inside so you can put it however you like, but the tail does kinda help keeping him standing up, since he is a bit top-heavy with the wings and has 'chicken legs', with the reversed articulation. For any person who grew up in the 90's and watched the show when it first aired, this is pure nostalgia and it a no-brainer, you definitely will need it on your shelf. Looking forward to Demona, Bronx and all the others, along with the inevitable stone versions! More news at 11:00... Stone by day, warriors by night, we are GARGOYLES!
  4. NECA around midnight last night came out of left field with a surprise announcement that they would be doing 7" figures based on the classic 90's Disney Gargoyles animated series. For those not familiar with the series, despite being a Disney property was known at the time for having a fairly dark tone and told the story of ancient nocturnal creatures who were living in modern New York City. By day they would be stone statues and by night would come alive. While technically made for kids, the stories often would be based on Shakespearean themes. The show ran for 3 seasons and contain a total of 78 episodes. While NECA has not yet released any specific details, the teaser images they released show us they are doing a fairly detailed and articulated figure of the leader character named Goliath which looks like will come with two different headsculpts. Check out the images below and stay-tuned for more details on this as they become available.
  5. Inspired by the classic Disney animated television series Gargoyles, the Demona Q-Fig presents the She-Demon as she prepares to leap from her perch and strike with razor sharp claws and a vicious prehensile tail.. A worthy adversary of the Manhattan Clan, Demona is presented here with a shock of red hair and the pale blue skin of her true form. She is every bit Goliath's equal, and our Demona Q-Fig perfectly captures the fury and menace of this legendary creature. The remarkable Goliath Q-Fig stands 5 inches tall from the diorama base to the tip of her bat-like wings. The base itself is meticulously sculpted to resemble the gothic rooftop of the Eyrie Building, which will match perfectly when paired with the Q-Figs. Beware, though - sparks may fly, and we can't guarantee that your collection will remain unscathed should they awaken during the night. Both figures are available for pre-order at BigBadToyStore.com.
