WWE Mattel Elite 63 Dusty Rhodes

The American Dream is here with Mattel's WWE Elite series 63 Dusty Rhodes. 2018 was the year of Mattel, and 2019 is going strong with a revamp of the elite line. We get tons of extras with this regular elite line release. The body mold is the same that was used on the original Legends series Dusty Rhodes with polka dots. This has his classic old school blank trunks NWA attire. The body mold used here is ideal for Dusty Rhodes. He was known as the son of the plumber so he definitely had the common folk body. Mattel really chose this body mold accurately for him. This figure comes with a soft goods, black fabric t-shirt thats fully removable. It features his classic logo on the chest of the shirt. Also included are 2 pairs of hands. One set are closed fists, and the other are open hands. A removable hat. As if that wasn't enough, Mattel also included the big gold championship belt as well. This also comes with a pair of aviator style sunglasses, although im having a difficult time having the glasses stay on his head. A couple extra additional details are the green elbow pad which is a nice touch. And something that might get overlooked by some is Dusty's large birthmark on his belly region. For someone as iconic as Dusty Rhodes, this is a must have for any collection. A small nitpick would be if Mattel had used a new head scan rather than reuse the one used many years ago from the Legends release. Mattel has shown that they are listening to its consumers and have continued to step up their game. I would rate this a 9.5/10

    WWE Mattel Elite Bob Backlund

Mattel is back with another awesome figure! This is Bob Backlund from his run in the WWF as the psychotic man that didn't have control once he snapped! The figure has extras upon extras! 2018 has been the year of Mattel. Mattel had been including many plastic mold shirts, plastic robes, and many accessories that quite frankly didn't make a lot of sense. But that seems like a thing of the past. With this release we get a fabric soft goods robe with white trim. A white towel, two extra removable hands, and a winged eagle championship belt. Im in awe of everything about this figure, from the sculpted buzz cut, to his crazy blank stare on his facial scan. Backlund is accurately scaled, as he wasn't very tall in real life. The figure has numerous point of articulation. You can move the head, waist, shoulders, arms, wrists, legs, ankles, knees, and torso. My only extremely minor nitpick would have to be on the winged eagle title having the black globe instead of the traditional blue accent on the globe. I don't recall the title ever having the black accent. But nevertheless, that shouldn't stop you from considering picking up this gem! I have only had it for a few days, and its already front and center in my action figure collection. I would give this figure release a 9.5/10
