  3. Announced today on the stage at the HBO Max WarnerMedia Day is a new project in the works at the forthcoming streamer: DC Super Hero High from Elizabeth Banks. DC Super Hero High is a half-hour comedy series executive produced by Elizabeth Banks (Charlie's Angels, Pitch Perfect, Shrill), which follows a group of students experiencing the fun and drama of adolescence at a boarding school for gifted kids. These teens are just trying to navigate the pressures of high school, but none of them realize that someday they will become legendary DC Super Heroes. DC Super Hero High is produced by Brownstone Productions in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television, based on the characters from DC. Brownstone's Banks and Max Handelman (Shrill, Pitch Perfect) are executive producers, along with writer Scott Weinger (Fuller House), John D. Beck (Disjointed, Fuller House) and Ron Hart (Disjointed, According to Jim). Brownstone's Dannah Shinder (Shrill) will serve as co-executive producer. HBO Max is WarnerMedia's direct-to-consumer offering debuting in spring 2020. With 10,000 hours of curated premium content anticipated at launch, HBO Max will offer powerhouse programming for everyone in the home, bringing together HBO, a robust slate of new original series, key third-party licensed programs and movies, and fan favorites from WarnerMedia's rich library including Warner Bros., New Line, DC, CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth, Looney Tunes and more.

The CW is looking to expand on the success of the DC universe and have begun development on a present-day drama of Superman & Lois, starring Supergirl‘s Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch as the iconic couple. The hourlong project is being developed by The Flash executive producer Todd Helbing, DC Universe architect Greg Berlanti and Warner Bros. TV, where Helbing and Berlanti are under deals. The DC characters were created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The project is being written by Helbing and would have Superman & Lois being the world's most famous Super Hero and comic books' most famous journalist as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today's society. Former Flash showrunner Helbing executive produces with Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns via Berlanti Productions. Realizing that Slade’s devotion to his son might be Deathstroke’s only weakness, Dick is eager to use the information against his nemesis. According to Deadline, Dwayne Johnson has confirmed his involvement as DC's Black Adam by replying to a tweet to an image of a sculptor’s model of what he’d look like as Teth-Adam. “Very cool man, thank you. Amazing detail. This project has been with me for over 10yrs️ Production begins this July. Appreciate the support.” Bouncing back and forth in development as Black Adam is Shazam’s arch-nemesis. Johnson was to play the character in the first movie before the studios decided on his own stand-alone film, and he came aboard in January 2017. Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo is producing with Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions. Scott Sheldon will oversee for FlynnPictureCo.

Chalk up another to the list of DC Comics characters to the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover as The CW has cast Stephen Lobo as Detective Jim Corrigan, human host of the powerful cosmic entity known as the Spectre. The network hasn't confirmed if The Spectre himself will be appearing or just the human host, Detective Jim Corrigan. “Fans of the Crisis on Infinite Earths comic know the Spectre plays a pivotal role.   20. Not even a day after it was announced that Jonah Hill turned down a role for 'The Batman.' Matt Reeves has stepped up and announced with a tweet that Paul Dano will now play The Riddler in the new movie. Reeves tweet includes the hashtag of #EdwardNashton and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Dano's version of the character will be named Edward Nashton, the man who in the comics later goes by the name Edward Nygma and adopts the villainous persona. 'The Batman' is being directed by Matt Reeves, who co-wrote the script with Mattson Tomlin and co-produced with Dylan Clark. Starring in the title role is Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon. Feature credits for Dano include Love and Mercy, Prisoners, 12 Years a Slave, There Will Be Blood, Youth and Okja. Production begins in January in London with a theater release on June 25th, 2021.

  22. Arrow co-creator Marc Guggenheim revealed a promotional image for the upcoming female-centric Arrow spinoff featuring the new Green Arrow Mia Smoak (Katherine McNamara), as well as the two Canaries (Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy), Laurel Lance and Dinah Drake. The spinoff will center around Mia Smoak, known as Green Arrow, and the Canaries Laurel Lance and Dinah Drake. The new superhero squad is a next-generation version of Team Arrow with the costumed offspring of the original membership. At the center of the next-gen collective is Smoak, the fierce daughter of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) aka Green Arrow, the central character of Arrow and the former mayor of Star City. The project being set up as a backdoor pilot will air as an episode for the upcoming eighth and final season of Arrow. The episode is being handled under Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros Television and will be written by Beth Schwartz, Marc Guggenheim, Jill Blankenship and Oscar Balderrama.
  23. Entertainment Weekly has revealed an exclusive first look image of LaMonica Garrett as the Anti-Monitor from Arrowverse's forthcoming 'Crisis on Infinite Earths.' Garrett will also be playing his brother, The Monitor. 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' kicks off with Supergirl on Sunday, December 8th, followed by Batwoman on Monday, December 9th, and The Flash on Tuesday, December 10th. After the winter hiatus, the crossover will resume Tuesday, January 14th, with Arrow at 8 p.m. and conclude with Legends of Tomorrow at 9 p.m.
