  2. Netflix is looking to sign a massive financial deal with Warner Bros. Television to adapt Neil Gaiman's Sandman into a live-action TV series. Sources are claiming this is the most expensive TV series that DC Entertainment has ever done. Allan Heinberg is set to write and serve as showrunner on the straight-to-series drama. Gaiman, who created the ongoing monthly comic, will executive produce alongside David Goyer. The Sandman comic series ran from 1989-1996 and spanned 75 issues. The book centers on Dream (also known as Morpheus), an ancient, powerful being who is the embodiment of dreaming and imagination. Dream is one of the Endless, a set of seven siblings that includes Delirium, Desire, Destruction, Despair, Destiny and Death.   9. The newest character to be added to the second season of DC Universe's Titans will be Aqualad. The character was announced by actor Drew Van Acker from his Instagram post and confirmed by TV Insider. The official character description, Garth is a founding member of the Titans and was Aquaman's eager sidekick known as Aqualad. Also born in Atlantis and a member of the royal court, young Garth was trained by Aquaman as a protector of life above and below the ocean. He would eventually step out from the shadow of his mentor to become his own hero as a Titan along with many other former sidekicks.

Eliza Clark has joined the creative team on the upcoming FX drama series Y as Writer, Showrunner and Executive Producer, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Gina Balian, Presidents, Original Programming, FX Entertainment. "Eliza Clark is an enormously talented writer and producer whose ambitious vision for Y will only enhance the mystique and allure of this powerful story," said Grad. "We are thrilled to have her on board and partner with this stellar cast, Brian, Nina, Brad and Melina." All of the men are dead. But one. Based on DC Comics' acclaimed series Y: The Last Man by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, Y traverses a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event has decimated every male save for one lone human. The new world order of women will explore gender, race, class and survival. Diane Lane stars in Y, leading an ensemble cast featuring Barry Keoghan, Imogen Poots, Lashana Lynch, Juliana Canfield with Marin Ireland and Amber Tamblyn.   15. UPDATE: TVLine is reporting that an accounting error regarding the series’ North Carolina tax rebate may have led to the series’ cancellation. No official reason has been given but the new series Swamp Thing has not be picked up for a second season. The drama series was based on the DC characters created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson and premiered on May 31st on the DC digital service, DC Universe. Sources are claiming that the new leadership of WarnerMedia was not particularly high on Swamp Thing whose order was reduced from 13 to 10 episodes in April. The cancellation comes just one episode into the show’s run. The series was written by Mark Verheiden and It co-writer Gary Dauberman, Swamp Thing centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane (Crystal Reed). When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland (Andy Bean) — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.   16. Warner Bros. has decided to hold off on the release of Wonder Woman 1984 until the Summer of 2020. The news was also confirmed by Wonder Woman 1984 star Gal Gadot via Twitter "Super excited to announce that, thanks to the changing landscape, we are able to put Wonder Woman back to its rightful home. June 5, 2020. Be there or be square!!!" “We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did,” Warner Bros. said in a statement. “This move lands the film exactly where it belongs.” Wonder Woman 1984” will be helmed by acclaimed director Patty Jenkins, and star Gal Gadot in the title role. As previously announced, the film also stars Kristen Wiig in the role of the Super-Villain The Cheetah, as well as Pedro Pascal. And Chris Pine returns as Steve Trevor. Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Stephen Jones and Gal Gadot are producing the film. Rebecca Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Walter Hamada are the executive producers. Production will take place in Washington, D.C., Alexandria, Virginia, and in the UK, Spain and the Canary Islands.

According to TheWrap, the supervillain King Shark appears to be one of the newest characters to The Suicide Squad sequel and Guardians of the Galaxy alum Michael Rooker is in talks to play the role. Created by Karl Kesel in 1994, the supervillain King Shark is a humanoid shark and the son of Chondrakha, the God of all Sharks. Introduced as a Superboy villain, King Shark has been a member of the Secret Six, the Secret Society of Super-Villains and the Suicide Squad. The sequel to 2016's Suicide Squad is written and will be directed by Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn. The sequel will have a completely new take on the property, in which DC supervillains are recruited by the government to carry out secret missions too dirty for the likes of Superman and Batman. Peter Safran and Charles Roven are producing. The sequel to 2016’s “Suicide Squad” will hit theaters on Aug. 6, 2021.
  25. The CW has released the first promo teaser for their latest superhero action series "Batwoman," which has just been officially picked up for its first season. The first live-action scripted series to feature a lesbian superhero, Ruby Rose stars in the CW series based on the DC Comics character Kate Kane, Bruce Wayne's cousin who becomes Gotham's bat-costumed protector when Bruce mysteriously goes missing.
